Years ago, on my first ever playthrough of Skyrim, I happened upon Ragnvald. When I awoke Otar, I died within seconds. @@ladyselin35 To be fair, Miraak was stuck in Apocrypha, and during the events of the Dragonborn DLC, was planning his return. Something interesting I want to share here: Ahzidal, Dukaan and Zahkriisos were also known as the 'Acolyte Priests' who joined Miraak in the rebellion of the Dragons. These Acolyte Priests also got involved with Hermaeus Mora and were tasked to guard the Black Books in their tombs.
Th first time I started Skyrim I ram off straight after escaping helgen amd started exploring. I found one and tried to fight him, only on level three. No followers, no decent weapons, nothing. After an hour of shouting at the screen I gave up and decided to play the game properly.

Perhaps because Hermaius Mora didnt want him to discover that knowledge and thus become a threat. When you defeat Mirak, Mora himself tells you that he was always aware of Mirak's plans to escape Apoccrypha and is glad that you dealt with him before he became too powerful.
he probably does know how. he just probably doesnt have the means. for all we know, it requires this one very specific item, potion, enchantment or ritual that he either cant do alone, or cant obtain while in apocrypha. or maybe he simply doesnt have the raw power yet. maybe that was his plan. to achieve chim upon defeating the dragonborn and escaping apocrypha.

If I had Special Edition on PC, I'd make a mod with a dragon priest named Graenolf. The mask would be Konahriik's model and wearing it would make all spells cost 40% less to cast. I would make it a fight on par with Karstaag in difficulty. In fact, I'd put the key to the area where the fight takes place in Karstaag's inventory. And Graenolf would summon dragon priests and dragons. Any suggestions for other loot on the body if I ever get Special Edition for PC?
Kohnariik seems to be a special item granted to champions during dire crises, as it basically requires all of the dragon priest leaders to unlock it meaning that they would all have to meet up and together agree to unlock it for it to ever be used. Either Miraak one had this mask and it was revoked, or it was temporarily bestowed onto Vahlaak to fight Miraak and he had to return it once Miraak was defeated. Fun fact: I actually found a few extra pages of the book, and there's two secret numbers: 14 and 15. 14: Konahrik. Name translates to "Warlord". Can only be found after all other dragon priest masks in the main game. Wearing his mask causes your health to be restored under 10% of your health (among other affects, such as Flame Cloak and summoning the ghost of Konahrik himself.). Who Konahrik was isn't clear, but he was more than likely the strongest of the dragon priests. 15: Graenolf. Name translates to "Oyfum". Can be found in Hiqoth. Wearing his mask grants a 20% stat boost in speech, one-handed and enchanting. Very little is known about Graenolf, other than he had a very buttery voice, poetic speech and decent combat skills. The lesser-known 15th dragon priest made it his goal to catalog all knowledge in skyrim for wayward adventurers. (The location is two words in draconic: "Hi Qoth". I'll let you research what that means...)
You forgot about Konahrik, the mask you find after collecting all the previous 8 masks in the base game. :P It has obviously been used by a secret dragon priest. The name means "warlord" and it has 2 enchanting effects. One is that it knocks your enemies down and heals the wearer, and a very low chance of summoning a spectral dragon priest to fight for you for a short while. This leads me to believe that this spectral dragon priest is in fact him. That he managed to find a gate between life and death and is able to travel between the two. Maybe his name was erased from history because necromancy is such a bad type of magic ?
Probably the OG Dragon Priest that made all the masks in the first place and make them as keys for his own. The only question that I have is where did this powerful dude disappear to after leaving his own mask behind?
Jackson Gray I speculated about that too in the previous comment. Maybe he practiced necromancy, it is concidered a "forbidden" art. Maybe he's the one responsible for the undead dragon priests in the first place. Because the dragon priest that gets summoned by the mas actually raise the dead.
Bernler75 The Dragon Priest in question indeed might be a necromancer that was viewed as an outcast. Similar to Durniviir in the Soul Cairn who sought out the necromantic arts despite that magic being considered as taboo by his dragon brethren. I wish they made him a quest after collecting all the other masks and unlocking his. Like how the Ebony Warrior was like a final boss to face, the Dragon Priest would be the same just longer to complete. Damn that'd be fun
I just got Hevnoraak’s mask today, and while I was going through Valthume I fell down a hole and suddenly acquired vampirism...even though I’m already a werewolf 🧐
That last bit of the video, wow. I've been watching your stuff for about a year and just for shits and giggles I named one of my characters Graenolf. On top of that I made him a dude who is not only obsessed with dragons, learning their language, history, everything about them, and even becoming the one true Dovahkiin, but he's also based off of Fudgemuppet's Dragon Priest build. I just got to this video after slaying Alduin
Graenolf is my favorite person to watch videos about Skyrim. He clearly knows what he’s talking about, has fun with it, and makes it not boring. He also does make some jokes (not really in this one lol)
Traolach McScotty Vahlok had a fucking dragon army. Since Miraak hadn't learned Bend Will, Dragonrend or Soul Tear (possibly Dragon Aspect), this was one dragon with a sword versus a whole bunch of dragons plus a wizard. But I agree, Vahlok deserves a mask; maybe giving him a bonus in speechcraft, due to how good of a leader he was, or maybe giving faster shout cooldown, since many draugr seem to have been tongues.
Vicente Temes It's stated that Miraak lost to Vahlok in single combat that makes me think the dragons where not directly involved, perhaps they bestowed more power to Vahlok than the average dragon priest to help him combat Miraak and a Speechcraft Mask that Increases Shouts in some form I can agree with showing his power and leadership
we don't know for sure though, The lore in the elder scrolls changes a lot. Information like this we can only gather from what people tell us, what we see and books. We don't see them fight so we have to rely on legends and books, which are often inaccurate
It's because Miraak is a bitch. That's literally it. Like when you face him after you kill Alduin and he's like "I could have killed Alduin but I didn't care!" it's like a guard saying "I could've killed those Dark Brotherhood types but I was sick that day." He was however the first Dovakiin and Mora wanted him as a toy until he saw that you were better. Note that "Dovakiin" is more significant than "Dragonborn" lore wise.
Commander Peridot he tries to have fun with his videos and apparently people don't wanna watch that. I do though i'll help him through his adventure too 1 million subs.
Subbed, I think you may have just given me a reason to get back into a game I've played way too many damn times.. Edit: I love how the game provides a book describing the lore between Miraak and Vahlok without actually naming who the "Betrayer" was. Probably one of the best ways Skyrim handled a story
My first encounter with a Dragon Priest was Hevnoraak, and my character was WAY under-leveled to stand a reasonable chance. I had to use everything I could to make sure he couldn't one shot me with his stupid thunderbolts. I had to hide behind pillars, wait until he exhausted his magicka, then bust out two swords and use the Elemental Fury shout and whale on him for a good amount and returning to behind the pillars, repeating this process for ten minutes, because the game difficulty was set on Master. I still remember the excitement I felt from putting that douchebag down.
I know this is 3 years old, but loved the bit you did at the beginning, just kind of wish you had used actual camera footage of you finding a tome. Regardless props
god i remembered shear point. first dragon priest i ran into and only time my dragon born had to flee to fight another day. god it felt so good having that goal to finish that dragon priest.
you know, the first time I ever fought a dragon priest it was Volsung, and I popped up on him while i was riding on a mountainside and since he was completely open I killed him and took his mask and the Word of Power. I actually was on the return Serana quest on Dawnguard. I was so excited.
Vahlok is a goat man, went toe to toe with a dragonborn, battle split a large chunk of land from skyrim and came out on top. Even then was a great leader even respected by dragons
I guess my skyrim was glitched. When I got to that specific room, Morokei was already dead. Also the Wizards weren't making the beams, they were just there coming out of no where, but throughout the other parts of the dungeon, the Wizards were there. Did anyone else have this happen?
Makes perfect sense for Ahzdal to summon seekers. A being with such unquenchable lust for power and knowledge no doubt came I to the service of Hermaeus Mora
I had to fight morokei when I was level 18 it took me so long and it was like the first extremely intense battle i had, I also didn’t have a companion so I was very stressed haha
my first dragon priest was vokun. i went to high gate ruins after doing the greybeards horn mission. i at the time wasn't SUPER strong but i managed to help defeat him with lydia and anska
The best thing is is that when i literally just started playing skyrim and didnt do the ain quest, no i did thieves guils one. When i was going somewhere quest-related i stumbled upon krosis. Needless to say, i was suprised that his mask was just what i needed, and i was really suspicious why this mask in particular.
But in Rahgots case he didn't hope that they would stop searching, but he poisoned the well and the air killing a lot of them, and the poison sacrificed the members of the dragon cult to make a ward on his door, which would last for decades
So I'm writing down all the dragon priests locations and I'm gonna try and get all their masks! I'll update in an hour or two to tell yall how I went XD

i accidentally ran into Krosis when i was level 9, and that was one hell of a gritty, frustrating fight
Taboo? wow necromancy must be worse than daedras considering what those priests are known for.
Jackson Gray I actually found a dead skeleton in the soul cistern that had a Dragon priest dagger and staff next to it.... it could totes be him.
graewolf should be a story teller
Love your intros. Keep it up, great channel
I just got Hevnoraak’s mask today, and while I was going through Valthume I fell down a hole and suddenly acquired vampirism...even though I’m already a werewolf 🧐
Great content man as always! Subbed your channel, you deserve it. I was looking for lore videos on skyrim, seems I've found the best 😃 .
Oh yeah, I can remember how a dragon and a dragonpriest attacked me at the same time......
and I won the battle.
...HAX!
@@Fr0staX hello
You deserve a medal for the narrating.
Here, have this virtual, invisible Internet one. *gives narrator medal*
Ooo, it smells like vanilla. Thank you friend : )
You forgot the most forgotten dragon priest: Curalmil. He's the one you fight in the White Phial quest. Don't forget about my boy Curalmil!
If two vegans fight is it still considered beef 🤔
Gaiden Shinjiii hmmmm....
GS INSIGHTS would it be called Tofu instead of beef?
Sander van Duren yep
Ha!
Tofuckery
Graenolf is my favorite person to watch videos about Skyrim. He clearly knows what he’s talking about, has fun with it, and makes it not boring. He also does make some jokes (not really in this one lol)
I never understood how Vahlok who beat Miraak at the height of his power never got a mask plus I dunno how Miraak lost to him
Traolach McScotty Vahlok had a fucking dragon army.
Without the mask he can shout louder xD
Why aren't you at 1 million subs yet
Commander Peridot he tries to have fun with his videos and apparently people don't wanna watch that. I do though i'll help him through his adventure too 1 million subs.
TBH my major turnoff is the music at each number in between facts/ segments. It gets very annoying hearing it over and over if you are binge watching.
@@R4V3-0N I like the music... :(
Anyone else shit themselves when Krosis popped out of the coffin?
I miss the Skyrim videos but your content has always been and will always be amazing❤️
Subbed, I think you may have just given me a reason to get back into a game I've played way too many damn times..
Edit: I love how the game provides a book describing the lore between Miraak and Vahlok without actually naming who the "Betrayer" was. Probably one of the best ways Skyrim handled a story
The word walls that we get our shouts from have some very interesting things if you read it translated
''quickly grab a torch, bring it close'' boom book goes up in flames the end
My first encounter with a Dragon Priest was Hevnoraak, and my character was WAY under-leveled to stand a reasonable chance. I had to use everything I could to make sure he couldn't one shot me with his stupid thunderbolts. I had to hide behind pillars, wait until he exhausted his magicka, then bust out two swords and use the Elemental Fury shout and whale on him for a good amount and returning to behind the pillars, repeating this process for ten minutes, because the game difficulty was set on Master.
I still remember the excitement I felt from putting that douchebag down.
I could see the battle with Vahlok being him testing if you can beat him, and thus succeed where he failed in slaying Miraak.
you deserve so much more recoginition then you get your videos are really well done and top quality.
I know this is 3 years old, but loved the bit you did at the beginning, just kind of wish you had used actual camera footage of you finding a tome. Regardless props
i really enjoy your voice, keep up the skyrim videos
Keep up the good work
love your videos man just subbed keep up the good work!
Dude your story telling is awesome. Is epic
I love your commentary!! Very entertaining
god i remembered shear point. first dragon priest i ran into and only time my dragon born had to flee to fight another day. god it felt so good having that goal to finish that dragon priest.
This was an excellent video. Creative and Informative.
I appreciate the fact that you modded Arturia as a follower, 10/10
you know, the first time I ever fought a dragon priest it was Volsung, and I popped up on him while i was riding on a mountainside and since he was completely open I killed him and took his mask and the Word of Power. I actually was on the return Serana quest on Dawnguard. I was so excited.
This goes into my ESLore playlist. Not so many does :P
Good video.
I bet the mask Konahrik is the actual reward to the last Dragon Priest: You the Dragonborn. Chew on that thought
cory brearley how do you get that mask?
@@daargran do you know lablyntrian the morokei mask place there is a small sanctuary like in middle outside the dungeon search around
GP Technologies Mangalore ok thanks 👌🏻
Vahlok is a goat man, went toe to toe with a dragonborn, battle split a large chunk of land from skyrim and came out on top. Even then was a great leader even respected by dragons
Very good video!
I guess my skyrim was glitched. When I got to that specific room, Morokei was already dead. Also the Wizards weren't making the beams, they were just there coming out of no where, but throughout the other parts of the dungeon, the Wizards were there. Did anyone else have this happen?
For me morokei didn't attack me he just stood there
Do you act? You have a very captivating vocal presence, if that makes any sense.
you just got a new subscriber , your vids are soo cool love the enthusiasm thumbs up 👍👍👍
I love your videos. Great job. Just in my opinion you should do a video of the top 5 betrayals.
Makes perfect sense for Ahzdal to summon seekers. A being with such unquenchable lust for power and knowledge no doubt came I to the service of Hermaeus Mora
You know what's funny, the arch mage couldn't beat a dragonpriest that I just took out by using fireballs with maxed out dual casting
Volsung's mask is the mask my main character wears all the time. The extra carry weight and underwater breathing are good explorer's bonuses...
I really liked Madness the Mad. He was a really interesting one!
Love your videos! Keep it up!
My first was Otar the Mad, also my favorite.
If I’m not mistaken I do believe Krosis was mentioned by both Aludin and Parthurnax in their quest lines
I love that little transition jig
If I’ve got wuufrad witch I have I could take down a dragon priest
Thanks for that. Very enjoyable and fun. Not dry at all. :)
my first dragon priest was moreki that was one of the toughest battles I had
Anyone questioning why Konahrik wasn't mentioned.
That's just a mask. There never was a Dragon Priest named Konahrik.
Respond?
chill with the poetry, good video
Graenolf . How to Role play good :)
Damn if dishonored came out sooner they could've made that mask look like the outsider's design
love these.
Great content,got a new subscriber ^^
Was exploring some crypt when I found a dragon priest. Never before had I pressed ~, clicked the dragon priest, and typed kill.
Love how thorough this was, but you could have at least mentione Konahriik.
I killed vokun at level two, took 5 hours.
But in Rahgots case he didn't hope that they would stop searching, but he poisoned the well and the air killing a lot of them, and the poison sacrificed the members of the dragon cult to make a ward on his door, which would last for decades
*Morokei drains magicka*
Me laughing because I'm a two handed battleaxe wielding Nord who has no time for magic.
Me who's a destruction magic focused Altmer: NO GOD!!! NO GOD PLEASE NO! NO! NO!! NO!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
Love your videos I always stumble on this gym
So I'm writing down all the dragon priests locations and I'm gonna try and get all their masks! I'll update in an hour or two to tell yall how I went XD
