It’s sometimes hard to remember that Duncan isn’t just a handsome face and a charming guy. He did the math and increased his equity stake double while everyone else quartered over the pennies of owning a bespoke vineyard and land. Its because of having crooked teeth and using your tongue to move air very quickly. Only my bottom row of teeth had grew a little strange, 1 part of tooth overlapping the other (the very 2 front bottoms) and because of that I can also whistle in this manner, but I can't do a 'normal' whistle to save my life.
Duncan is the only one with an oz of empathy you could tell from the second he walked in he was frozen with fear and nervous as hell he couldn't even start speaking for a minute it's hard and intimating for some people speaking in front of people and knowing he's being recorded my hat off to Duncan for trying to give him help and investing in him you can tell Duncan still remembers his roots nothing was given to him he earned his money and I think doesn't just care about money sometimes he tries to help some people get ahead in life like him good man in my eyes
Wanted to look up this guy and his vineyard business and it turnes out he died of brain tumor 2 years ago. The guy seemed very wholesome and i hope the family and Duncan can keep up the business.
Class from Duncan. My uncle was mates with him when he lived over in Jersey in the 70s. Top guy who came from nothing and made his pile through sheer hard work and determination 👍👍
Duncan truly is admirable, he went from buying an ice cream van for £450, to selling that ice cream business for £28,000 to creating a nursing home with the profits and then selling that for £26,000,000.. Now that’s what you call starting from the bottom.
RIP to Geoff Bowen. ".... It has now grown to be the largest commercial vineyard in the South West covering 25 acres, producing white red and rose wines as well as sparkling varieties. Upwards of 40,000 bottles are produced there a year." - The Sun, UK He had a good run with his business and I hope his children will continue his life's work.
@Disruptive Bee the show was in 2011. He died of a glioblastoma which is normally pretty swift and rapid growing so I'd doubt he had developed it as far back as 2011.. Very sad though.
Duncan Bannatyne the working mans role model. “So it’s easy! If your going to return the money within a year, and I own a company which owns a vineyard, I’m in!” Best line I’ve heard from any dragon in the den.
Comments section On other videos: Deborah is the nicest dragon. Therefore she is the best Videos like these: Debrorah is clearly the meanest dragon here. Duncan is the nicest. Deborah wasn't always the nicest dragon! She was brutal in this series!
deborah likes to bully and demean timid, inexperienced male entrepeneurs, which is why duncan had the right approach not caring about the sewage spewing out of her mouth
@@Moon222 there was another guy who had a disinfecting machine and she fleeced him, i think she took 40% to 50% of the company and the guy was literally begging for her to come down on the percentage and she drove her claws and fangs into him even more, he needed the investment and i guess her expertise so he gave in, but there are others as well but this would be a comment with 1,000,000 characters if i sat her outlining all the times she was a rude skank to everyone who came in, especially timid men with no business experience
Actually I never thought Deborah was nice. I've only ever thought she was mean. Btw despite everyone saying Jenny is bad I think she's better than Deborah. Jenny isnt bad she's just meme material.
Hahaha Duncan played this one beautifully. Not only did he understand it before the other dragons, but he made sure to flaunt it before making the offer and explaining, so the other dragons can't 180 with a better deal without looking like they're just clueless
@ja ka James Caan won't invest in alcohol because it's immoral but will try to buy a baby because that's apparently more acceptable than a glass of wine!
James caan was a legend. On so many pitches he actually got what the pitch was about. Such as thermaskirt. None of the dragons got that one. They were like (to the pitcher) you have enough money therefore you dont need mine. It was james that understood that he needs the expertise but james isn't in construction so couldn't help. Alot of the dragons come across as arrogant. Plus James was the one with the clever deals. He thought outside the box. Put Peter to shame. In the recent series its Peter who has taken a page out of James's book by doing unconventional deals.
LOL I didn't even notice. Can't be a coincidence with all of them wearing a purple tie. How rude, should have told Deborah that it was the purple tie day so she could wear something purple to match. Then again maybe they did and she dismissed it with a ”what a nonsense! I wear what I want”.
One of the things I love about Duncan is that he never seems to be anything more than honest and curt. He never postures about his time being wasted (it really ticks me off when Peter, Theo, Deborah, et al. start puffing their feathers at being 'insulted' by the entrepreneur). Yes, Duncan wants as big a bite as he can get, but he doesn't neg the product or the person the way Peter does in order to have the business all to himself and thus take a bigger chunk. Also, he makes my daughters laugh. They won't tolerate an episode without him. :D
Deborah just got pissed because she wanted to humiliate the entrepreneur on national telly but Duncan wasn't having any of it. He knows what it feels like to rise up from the dirt and not be born with a silver spoon in his mouth
Duncan is probably the most unique dragon to be on the show, either him or toucker lol. Also I feel like Deborah was more tense in the earlier days, I think she is more relaxed and helpful now
Sadly Geoff passed away due to brain tumor and in 2018. He was a good man. May he rest in peace. I hope his business does well for many years to come and take forward his passion and memory.
After reading and looking it up for myself that he died 3 months after this from a brain tumor. I could only imagine that played a part in him having that brain fart no pun intended, but I could be wrong.
☠OsirisTheGreatShaman☠ Someone said this aired quite a few years ago and the tumor he got developed extremely fast so it wouldn’t have been around this time. I thought the same as you, though, you’d assume that right?
Even though Geoff passed, it seems like whoever's running the company now has gotten things back on track. Website is up to date and the Facebook page is still posting regularly. Maybe Bannatyne is still helping move things forward.
Lmao the irony of this comment, the editing actually made it out to be a lot worse than it was *especially* in the early episodes 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️look at all the close up shots - that's to drag it out and make it seem like it was a much longer silence than it was in order to make the pitchers look like complete idiots for your entertainment. Nothing realistic about it lol.
@@TaxingIsThieving very simple: Take shot one, hold it right until halfway through the pauze, take a shot of a dragon for 3 seconds (tension created by the continuous background music), switch back to the entrepreneur....
I like Duncan, he's a genuinely good person who doesn't like seeing people fail. There's one guy one the Australian shark tank who has the same vibe as Duncan and you can tell they really want people to do great things and thats what we need more of in this world.
Lol I’d be lost too if I was that guy. He literally broke down his costs, which included paying back the 60k to the investor. Poor guy looked so confused. When Deborah demanded again to tell her how she’d get her money back, he was like, “But I just did…” It was basically a one year loan that ended up (with Duncan’s offer) being paid back with 25% interest and a chunk of land. No wonder Duncan immediately agreed to it: it was the surest bet of any pitch they’ve ever heard lol

This isn't the first time I've seen Duncan clear up a confusion regarding the numbers. He sure is attentive and savvy when it comes to the figures.
Deborah: I don't get it.
Duncan: Boom. Two plus two is four. Minus one, that's three, quick maths.
Underrated comment, algorithm gang here
Underrated yes!!
I would pay good money to watch Duncan sing/rap that song.
Frisbee
Twix
Duncan always gets it when everyone else doesn’t 😂😂😂
ya its happened a few times throughout the show
Duncan's a simple man. He sees a pint.. or anything that resembles one, he's interested to invest.
@karrr1573 You can always rely on people getting high...
I like how she's mad at him for having obvious anxiety. Can people with mental health issues, or just occasional anxiety not be entrepreneurs?
I concur but she was understandably upset. How could you invest in something that isn't properly stated?
Yeah he obviously suffered from stutters and he died from a brain tumor not long after... Probably had something to do with it, rest in peace bro 🙏 Definitely earned my respect
The question should be about Deborah. Can she work with this person? The answer is no, so he has to work with someone else. Deborah can't work with him, not he can't work with everyone.
She reminds me of so many stuck up job interviewers
Quit, stay home. Don't go on a show called 'Dragons den' if you can't handle pressure
First time I've seen a dragon jump out the chair to save someone
So no one's gonna talk about Theo's whistle technique?????
Right! he didn't even move his mouth lol
Maybe his hand was making the noises ........... Or perhaps something only very rich people can do! A skill you can unlock at 100 million
@@vileguile4 I cant even whistle normally, that's how poor I am
What’s that
whistling with the roof of your mouth is easy, whats wrong with you people
Why did Deborah do all that huffing and puffing when she was never going to invest anyway?
She's a woman. They have to make a fuss about something 🤣
Maybe she didn't like the taste of the wine 😂
She’s a witch
Its there real face! Bitterd and arrogant
Her ego and insecurities are pretty common among monied individuals that feel the need to feel a sense of high ground over others.
Duncan is a broski 💪🏼 stand up guy
Sadly Geoff died of a brain tumour not too long ago. I hope his business did well. Seemed a decent guy.

Oh my goodness ! So sad. RIP

Debra getting angry to cover up the fact that she didn't understand.
her ;laugh is horrific
She's right that it shouldn't be up to Duncan to explain the man's plan. And he didn't explain his system at all, before Duncan did it for him. I'd be miffed too.
@@Argumemnon To be fair, the dude was wrestling with mad nerves, it took him almost a minute and a half to stumble out the initial pitch. Try going up there infront of 5 multimillionaires and sell a product to invest in and keep your nerves at the same time, see how you'd fare.
@@AndrevusWhitetail 'it took him almost a minute and a half to stumble out the initial pitch' lol no it didn't, the editing made it out to be much worse than it actually was, they've done this a lot throughout the years, classic dragon's den technique of making people look like complete idiots.
The numbers didn't make sense though. The guy literally said they would only get £7k return. It was only after Deb put him in hot water that he went along with Duncan's idea of returning the whole £60k to the investors.
Duncan is a good man he kept his calm and wasnt rude 2 the other dragons like they were. And I just lost respect 4 Deborah.
how did you have any respect for deborah to lose?
Eh, Deborah had a point “At no point did you say what Duncan just said.”
This may be one of those times we say nobody's perfect
@@fox2569 he was trying to explain and she cut him off. Clearly he said enough for Duncan to understand and he was trying to clarify for everyone else
Vanilleu someone would have to be very successful to not have some respect for the Dragons.
I realize Duncan has this helpful traits in him which will always be there for the pitchers like this guy, whenever he spotted someone having some kind of diffculty expressing with the right words, he will cut in and help... he did these a few times already, helping a few contestants.... he is a very sympathetic person with great empathy...
He was quite the boss on the exit, giving Duncan a bottle and bypassing the others. Sad that he didn't live long to enjoy his success. RIP Geoff.
I'm sure he was successful enough to own a vineyard in the first place
It’s sometimes hard to remember that Duncan isn’t just a handsome face and a charming guy. He did the math and increased his equity stake double while everyone else quartered over the pennies of owning a bespoke vineyard and land. I bet he can already see using this guy’s vinery business and expertise to grow his license alcohol business
Duncan’s numbers game is always strong.
This isn’t the first time he’s had to school the others...
When I am feeling low, I always watch Duncan's invests, specially this one is a gem. It gives me positivity and reminds me that there are people like Duncan who are pure gem and kind.
Be like Duncan Bannatyne! ❤️
Duncan is my favorite Dragon. 100%
I would love to go drinking with him.
RIP liver. But yeah, he seems to be a decent bloke.

I don't drink but sure he would have been a delightful company. Seems a nice person.
Duncan proved he speaks numbers , Just from the figures alone he knew exactly what he was attempting to get across
Duncan Bannatyne is a legend, I love how helpful he is regardless of what the others think. We need more people like him in this World!
Duncan just won over everybody's hearts😍
Shame that Geoff Bowen past away.
Rest in peace.
@Alex Thomson i'll give you rent when you fix this damn door
How tf does Theo whistle without moving his mouth like that
Well it magic obviously duh 🙄
Greek magic
It's coming out rectally, it's called being a tight arse.
@@TheGauges420 So that's why I stopped being able to do it when I got braces 😂
Duncan's finest hour. Legend in this one. RIP Geoff
Duncan is a class act, worth reading his books if you haven't already. The guy started with nothing pure rags to riches.
Duncan scolded? No, Duncan just sticking up for the wine chap and putting bullying Deborah in her place.
Wanted to look up this guy and his vineyard business and it turnes out he died of brain tumor 2 years ago. The guy seemed very wholesome and i hope the family and Duncan can keep up the business.
Well done Duncan. Rest of them needed to patiently understand it instead of being stroppy.

Comments section On other videos: Deborah is the nicest dragon. Therefore she is the best
Videos like these: Debrorah is clearly the meanest dragon here. Duncan is the nicest.
Deborah wasn't always the nicest dragon! She was brutal in this series!
I usually love Deborah but this episode she was a b!tch 🤣 I still love her, but she was brutal and he didn't even seem to deserve it!
deborah likes to bully and demean timid, inexperienced male entrepeneurs, which is why duncan had the right approach not caring about the sewage spewing out of her mouth
@@bieberninja1 does she? i thought this was a onetime thing

RIP Geoff. Happy you got the investment from Duncan and were able to see your business become a success.
7:35 "A very frank exchange, and one that has left Geoff reeling!"
THAT'S AN ODD WAY TO PRONOUNCE DEBORAH
James was just there the whole time enjoying the arguments 😂
Easily the best set of dragons!
Without Touker? Surely not :P
@ja ka James Caan sits there: Oy, I don't drink!"😆
Replace James Caan with Touker and then we're good.
Jenny wished so bad, she was here for the free alcoholic sample.
Sadly once out from the Den you can't get in. That was a poor miscalculation from her.
Sadly she was already out
Jenny considered becoming Muslim after realising she could go out immediately sometimes
So so sad this entrepreneur Geoff has died, hope his business flourishes 💖
Lunch break doesn't begin until the new Dragon's Den video is released.
Duncan was such a chad, he saw clearly even tho the Entrepreneur was very nervous and even offered his expertise to assist him in explaining it

Apparently Deborah didn’t get the memo that it was ‘purple tie’ day 🤣
@William Stewart 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@MsMaryPatricia What do we wear on Fridays??
@@melmc3306 we don"t
LOL I didn't even notice. Can't be a coincidence with all of them wearing a purple tie. How rude, should have told Deborah that it was the purple tie day so she could wear something purple to match. Then again maybe they did and she dismissed it with a ”what a nonsense! I wear what I want”.
Duncan was handsdown the best dragon to ever be on this show.
I love Duncan. He walks up to help him haha. What a legend.
Even when Duncan is being nice, he is so comically villainous about how he does it.
It's just how he looks 🤣
Rest in peace geoff, you did a amazing job with your pitch and its sad to hear that you passed
Duncan is so cool. And how wonderful he got Duncans investment too.
"A shaky start and the loss of a dragon" Yes, his pitch was so bad that he couldn't have alcohol for religious reasons.
R.I.P to this guy! And Duncan is and always will be a legend 🏴🙌
Deborah just got pissed because she wanted to humiliate the entrepreneur on national telly but Duncan wasn't having any of it. He knows what it feels like to rise up from the dirt and not be born with a silver spoon in his mouth
This is why I love Duncan! Not afraid to go against the grain
10:07 how the hell does Theo make that noise? :-D
I came here to comment that! He’s whistling with his mouth wide open 😆
His teeth are shaped like the top of bottles. Obviously.
Probably edited.
I'm able to do the same. I copied him after he did it. 😂
Whistling foetus
Duncan is probably the most unique dragon to be on the show, either him or toucker lol. Also I feel like Deborah was more tense in the earlier days, I think she is more relaxed and helpful now
Shes even worse in her first season. Came across completely nasty
Rest easy man. I’m glad you got your deal 🖤
Sadly Geoff passed away due to brain tumor and in 2018. He was a good man. May he rest in peace. I hope his business does well for many years to come and take forward his passion and memory.
Smart on Duncan’s part. Essentially a loan with equity thrown in
Duncan is a real one, I appreciate what he did 😂
This clip is why Duncan is one of the best Dragons! Leaves quite a gap when he leaves
Should have ended it when he left. It’s gone on far too long now.
I’ve seen quite a few of them on this show get lost for words or nervous.
It must not be easy presenting in front of them.
I was in Shark Tank last week. Cameras, Sharks, the atmosphere, the recording team.... the pressure is real. And the recording team want drama.
The first time in the show where a Dragon has went up to somebody and helped them to explain their company.
Duncan is the real gem of Dragon's Den which makes me admire and learn from his personality. I really hope he will return in the future!
Even though Geoff passed, it seems like whoever's running the company now has gotten things back on track. Website is up to date and the Facebook page is still posting regularly. Maybe Bannatyne is still helping move things forward.
I loved the early series 1&2 when they didn’t edit out extreme nerves and anxiety - it was more realistic by miles.
I think a lot of the times they made it look a lot worse than it was though
Lmao the irony of this comment, the editing actually made it out to be a lot worse than it was *especially* in the early episodes 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️look at all the close up shots - that's to drag it out and make it seem like it was a much longer silence than it was in order to make the pitchers look like complete idiots for your entertainment. Nothing realistic about it lol.
@@SiLoMixMaster How can they make it look worse unless they've put it in slow motion?
@@TaxingIsThieving very simple: Take shot one, hold it right until halfway through the pauze, take a shot of a dragon for 3 seconds (tension created by the continuous background music), switch back to the entrepreneur....
I like Duncan, he's a genuinely good person who doesn't like seeing people fail. There's one guy one the Australian shark tank who has the same vibe as Duncan and you can tell they really want people to do great things and thats what we need more of in this world.
Just read that Geoff sadly died in 2018, at the age of 53 from a brain tumour.
WINE IS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH
Duncan’s just done a fantastic bit of business there, well deserved.
Lol I’d be lost too if I was that guy. He literally broke down his costs, which included paying back the 60k to the investor. Poor guy looked so confused. When Deborah demanded again to tell her how she’d get her money back, he was like, “But I just did…”
It was basically a one year loan that ended up (with Duncan’s offer) being paid back with 25% interest and a chunk of land. No wonder Duncan immediately agreed to it: it was the surest bet of any pitch they’ve ever heard lol
Duncan actually being the bigger dragon helping someone who is stuck with something.
I love how James Caan declared himself out for religious reasons and then the guy still tried to serve him the alcohol 😂
It was edited to seem that way.
