This era was definitely the everyone goes with Peter era because this was JUST after he made millions and millions with Reggae Reggae Sauce. So it leaves people like Sarah who made millions off of food business in the dark as everyone just goes with Peter, even though Sarah would probably do better. I'm 100% sure they'd be far more successful if they went with Sarah because she'd have directed them more towards the Korean Street Restaurant chain idea which is a gap in the market rather than the far more competitive sauce in all the major supermarket route.
Korean food is really quite compatible with a Western taste. I've cooked a lot of Korean dishes for friends and family, and especially stuff like kimchi jjigae, jjajangmyeon, tteokbokki and hotteok really go over well with almost everybody. I'm happy the company is still going.

Honestly this felt like charity in a way. Peter seemed so against it yet still made an offer at 40% and finally accepted only a third of the business. He was not bluffing either when he said he'd rather pick up dog poo without gloves! I liked the older episodes better as they seemed like more realistic investments.
Notice how the BBC cut this, to show Willingham "pissed off". Those cuts were taken from B-rolls. You can see her hands clapping before cutting back to her "put out" expression a few seconds later. I hope Sarah does start her Korean Street Food chain. She would have been a brilliant partner - so much experience, skill, and passion. Way-to-Go ... could be a great rival to Yog-i-Yo ;-)
7:00 not true Peter. Whole Foods has 27 different kinds of mustard. On a recent DD, Toukar made the same point, and the entrepreneur (seller ng crisps) retorted that supermarkets purposefully keep smaller brands to not let the big brands totally be able to dictate terms. These entrepreneurs should have watched that ep. One learns a lot about business watching this show.
What people in the comments seem to fail to realize is that Peter shared their vision, Sarah had another vision that could be exciting but did not match the couples'.
The other sauce Peter mentioned, i.e Reggae Reggae Sauce, I have seen on the shelves in Tesco (I think), but never fancied it to buy. I also think that Sarah would have been the better option to choose, since this sort of thing is right up her street, whereas Peter has his mitts in so many different investments.

Should've gone for Sarah's offer. Sarah really knew what she was talking about in that restaurant business. There aren't any Korean restaurants or takeaways or any kind of Korean food in my city. But I've been to Korea an they have some of the best food I have ever tasted. If we could get their fried chicken in the UK, I don't care how much it would cost, I would pay for it. So I was really disappointed to hear them go for Peter.
Judging by the info on companies house, they should have gone with Sarah. As someone else pointed out, although these are in major supermarkets such as Sainsburys now (haven't seen them myself) the margins are presumably very tight, being sold for under £1. Sarah was right, there was a huge gap in the market for Korean food, especially if they throw in a couple of veggie/vegan options. Realistically, I'm not gonna cook Korean food myself and buy their sauces, but I would go out and spend £8 on a decent meal. The product also isn't really comparable to Reggae reggae sauce, which is extremely versatile (I use it instead of ketchup for everything) and was also introduced to the market at a very different time.
Bit of a click-bait title, really. "Throwing [her] under the bus/truck" would be undercutting her, not asking for a larger slice of the business for the same money. Also, they ballsed up. They specifically mentioned about what she could bring to their business and her plan was to turn it into restaurants. They *_HAD_* to know that she took an Indian themed restaurant chain to literally the largest Indian-themed restaurant business in the UK so she has the contacts and experience of bringing foreign food types to success there. Plus with the passion she showed then she clearly would have worked hard on it.
There's a gap but not much of a demand. Korea has been a major international country for two decades now, if there was a demand for Korean food it would have taken off by now. Even Thai food is a lot more popular.
Korean food has become super popular in North America, especially Korean fried chicken and bbq shops. I'm really surprised it's not gained the same momentum in the UK

But yeah. Restaurants is where the money is for this couple. But they done screwed up.
@@thert.hon.thelordnicholson7261 The Dragon's and the pitchers don't know anything about what it'll be like to work with each other, either
she might have made much better offer - hard to know.. but Peter was the safer and easier bet as he had experience with turning Levi Roots into a millionaire without having to open any restaurants..
Business... you can't always go for the nice one.
My gut told me Peter was the one 100%!
damn Peter is so amazing at making deals and always getting what he wants, even when other dragons offer better price. No wonder he is so successful!
I choked when she said "I'm Sue Young", reminded me of Rush Hour
(Jenny in the carpark) "📢 IM OUT!!".
Sarah's expression afterwards was everytime for me 😂
13:51 Sarah--"watch this space as I'm going to open a fabulous chain of Korean street kitchens"
13:56 Peter -- "hahahahaha"
I am beginning to feel that the dragons started to know each other too well. As soon as Peter say some hinting comments Deb will just exit early to make Peter’s offer having a bigger chance of success.
Sarah's face expression says everything.
Sarah is so effing hot.
gaayyyiii
You're hot, Jennifer
@TheBlade2020 A strong nose like Sarah's adds to a woman's beauty.
@Mr Tango well damn, that's definitely scuppered our chances, otherwise i'm sure she'd be here scouring the comments for a worthy suitor
she has a 2cm neck though. she looks like the midget murderer from dont look now.
Goodness, Peter has a sour face through most of this.
Its a rule in business to never smile until you strike a deal

Thts his all time trick, acts uninterested and throws a good offer last minute 😂

Sarah's blood was boiling
I’d have been equally happy to go with Sarah despite Peter’s track record with Reggae Reggae. Think Peter was cheeky wanting such a large chunk.
normal for Lanky
It wasn't Peter's success with RR sauce, the sauce itself was an excellent brand. And Peter invested with another dragon in RR sauce. This sauce has tanked.
This is one of the only times I've seen Sarah like something and actually invest
She knows the game and doesn't take it personally. But that's not how the Beeb wanted to present her. She's fine.
are you suggesting a BBC editor distorted fact? HOW VERY DARE YOU
You're spot on
Shock horror! TV is edited to tell a 'story'.
So heart warming to see people succeed
I hope Sarah does start her Korean Street Food chain. She would have been a brilliant partner - so much experience, skill, and passion. Way-to-Go ... could be a great rival to Yog-i-Yo ;-)
Sarah in this episode

She went through one crazy roller coaster ride of emotions
7:00 not true Peter. Whole Foods has 27 different kinds of mustard. On a recent DD, Toukar made the same point, and the entrepreneur (seller ng crisps) retorted that supermarkets purposefully keep smaller brands to not let the big brands totally be able to dictate terms. These entrepreneurs should have watched that ep. One learns a lot about business watching this show.
"prevent this fusion of east and west from going south"

What a lovely couple, i wish them well and hope they make millions.
I love it how the titles just don't spoil a bit of what you're about to watch. So clever!

Peter's thinking: "Mmmm that's money right there..."
What people in the comments seem to fail to realize is that Peter shared their vision, Sarah had another vision that could be exciting but did not match the couples'.
They attempted to dissolve and close the company in 2017, it's currently still active but not trading. It has a net value of -£70,000.

Reggae Reggae doesn't even taste that good. It just had good publicity at the right time. Yogiyo sauces actually taste good.
Peter:"Id rather pick up dog poop without gloves than invest in a company like this."
*proceeds to invest in the company*
It’s his tactic to get a bigger percentage of the company.
This just goes to show, daddy Peter Jones rules the Den
Touker "When making an offer i consider first what i can bring to the table and for that reason i would like to offer you office space".
Great Show
Can't get enough of it 😊
Good Luck to All. 😊
Peter Jones knows how to trick other dragons out 🤣🤣
It's been sold as of 18th of June to euro brand. Peter kept his 33 percent until then! I'm uncertain how much it was sold for but their net worth in 2019 was 70k so I can't imagine too much more.
PETER JONES LITRALLY THREW ME UNDER A BUS!

Peter: "Yeah your brand sucks everything sucks god you're all awful what a terrible route you're going down... Here's my offer for way more than you want, screw you"
Sarah: "Man this is great, you guys are great, i know this market better than anyone else here, and I love the idea, here's a reasonable offer"

I would have gone with Sarah, she had the experience, the enthusiasm and the lower %.

they definitely made the right decision, i see yogiyo sauces in supermarkets a lot now!
I would've taken Sarahs offer, she even showed more enthusiasm toward the business.
I really just love their love story 💛

Peter is a beast, he pretty much controls who invests in what
He is incredibly manipulative. More snake than dragon lol
It used to be Theo back in the day he’s learnt to control it from him and partly deborah
Their net value was 70k last year according to company check
Had they of gone with Sarah probably would of been much higher
Shite margins there

@ 7:50 just waiting for the words "office space"...
I'm curious if this product is still in production. The companies Facebook page hasn't been updated in almost a year
They're in stock at Tesco so must just be poor on their social media
On sale at Sainsbury's for 55 pence currently, 70 pence at Tesco-you can imagine how much they are making.
@@jacks3164 That was written in 2016. Since then they have nearly had the company struck off the register.
With Sarah this could have been the Korean version of Nandos. There is definitely a gap there!
@@a697ag It has, and a lot more authentic than anything in the US outside of Korea-town (or little Seoul or whatever it is called).
