Unbelievable Turnaround for Entrepreneur’s "OUTRAGEOUS" Valuation | Dragons’ Den

- Michael Pritchard MBE's invention allows for every last drop of liquid to be used in multi-directional household product sprays, he's seeking an investment of £125,000 in return for a 5% equity stake in Anyway Spray.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

He squeezed every last drop out of that negotiation.
That's why he handed them those tubes
@@Baph839 What did he do 🤔

It was good that he did not bottle it.

Not only that but he pulled back Jones as he was about to declare himself out! Persuading someone that stubborn and self-righteous takes some serious skill.

Yeah but it's always a good deal for the dragons because they try to lowball the entrepreneurs everytime so when it looks like the entrepreneurs have got a good deal the reality is they've just got a fair one for a change lol

The deal fell through ultimately, but he landed a huge deal with Tesco so that they'll use the tube in some of their products. That is huge.

@@originalunoriginal4055 I doubt it.
I just pour it into the next bottle. Problem solved. If it's an aerosol and that runs out of gas, i just drill two holes in top and pour it into s regular spray bottle. Works fine for me xD

Levi Roots?
@@TheDimeDrawer different type of good, one was all about product the other, brand. levi was just his brand personifed from the moment he came up the stairs, great personality, really likeable and not a business man just great reggae sauce and a man playing his guitar to rootsy reggae music. it really was a one off where everything came together, thats why creating a strong brand image is so important in consumer marketing and sales. I LOVE levi thats why i buy his sauce and a that price point its mainstream so it "does what it says on the tin". So people fell in love with the brand not so much the product - Levi even had the most amazing name (or pseudonym keith!). But the spray guy (who has perfetly dull name) is the genius inventor who makes very functional products for detergents, hardly sexy but so mass market that 1p per bottle will make him a billioanire overnight. He as no brand effectively as it purely about licenseable technology. So in a nutshell, one is the greatest brand deal on DD and the other could turn out to be the greatest product on DD if it goes worldwide. Dont mention it

I’d be willing to bet Pritchard came in willing to accept 20%, used the money-back guarantee (which he was probably also ok with) to get the dragons to half their equity demands. All-round masterclass
It's so annoying when you have to jiggle around those bottles to make it spray so a neat little gizmo

Good and bad things happened after this 2009 show: the investment never happened, apparently due to a disagreement over the direction of the company. In 2017 Tesco put this device into its own brand trigger spray bottles. The company is still active and its website offers the device for use in perfume bottles, sprays and aerosols without VOC propellants. This guy is a tough negotiator. The other fools pulled out to soon. They should have listened to what he had to say about disposing the cans
Well, to be fair, he should have led with that anyway. It wasn't until multiple people complained about the extra cost that he even mentioned that. Every one of the Dragons thought the product was going to cost the manufacturer more money, when in fact many manufacturers would save even more money.
@@billsmith8825 true
@@billsmith8825 Not sure though. Think it helped him to keep it up his sleeve for the negotiation. He managed to price disposal at the negotiation stage or just before, so I think that helped him.

He was so calm under pressure. Wonderful to see
He's a very smart guy indeed. Said nothing of his background but his pitch, and refusal to be undermined by the Dragons, suggested a business brain to match theirs.
Michael Pritchard was amazing. Very sharp with his responses.

Read in another comment the deal fell through but he did bloody well to get them down to 10% each with no secured patent and nothing really by way of revenue.
*This Entrepreneur knows his $HIT 👍🏻!*
I think what the dragons were trying to say is that "if it were needed, it would have been made by now." But it is quite the clever little product, and perhaps some things don't always take off, simply because there isn't a famous dragon on board yet to get the manufacturers excited. I suppose it requires more than just any random person to motivate a manufacturer these days, regardless of how beneficial it is to make exist
Sometimes these dragons lack practical knowledge! This is a really common problem.
Well they are rich. They have servants to spray it around. How will they even know? I doubt they have even used it even once. 😂

@@markchinguz4401 niche, i hope spotting my mistake writing in another language made your miserable day better! ;)
I think he underestimates the fact that manufacturers DON'T WANT you to use every drip, because that delays the time before you have to buy a replacement. They want you to waste product.
So jealous i didn't think of this, i use one almost everyday at work.
That’s the art of pure sales negotiation he overcome there objections....he must have practiced his pitch and rehearsed it a few times.
Great to watch alit learne from this....
This guy is a bad ass negotiator
Ok here is how I would have helped this guy: talk about the environmental impact!!! If we could use 100% of our products instead of it being stuck in the bottle, it means we buy less, less trucks delivering stuff, less manufacturing, that tiny percentage, can add up really quickly to less pollution.
This guy's invention should be mandatory by 2030.
Why do you think the Dragons dropped out. Without forced regulation, the companies want inefficient wasteful products do you have to buy more. These games go on in many industries, and they didnt openly say it but they hinted. Even Deborah who likes environmental friendly products knows it's too niche for the big companies who want repeat sales. But the aerosol tech was a different story.
