This mod is the sequel to Hearth's Neighbour 1 which won first place in our 2nd Outer Wilds mod jam. Out of all the entries to the latest iteration of the mod jam, it is the best at sticking to the theme!
All entries to the 3rd Outer Wilds mod jam take place in a shared solar system, were made within an 11 day time limit following the theme COMMUNITY, and each entry was limited to one planet/space station. See the rest of the entries here: outerwildsmods.com/jam/mar-2024/

Thanks for playing HN2! (and giving it first place, I'm glad the bribes and pandering was well spent). A few notes I'd like to mention:
1. We don't really know a whole lot about the Nomai outside of Escall's clan. There isn't really a guarantee that terrestrial Nomai architecture isn't typically made out of sandstone, and I don't believe there's any text stating that Gravity Crystals were invented on Brittle Hollow, though I could be wrong. However, for the most part, the main reason I used these assets was because they existed in the Unity project and I wasn't going to waste precious time making new ones.
2. Roja isn't quite as colorblind as I wrote her, as she is still capable of making out other colors, but her eyes are much more easily able to process red light than green and blue.
3. Why do people put down the battery when going to the ship to take their suit off? You missed a neat little music track...
4. More updates are in the works! This is already an outdated version, as there have been several tweaks to the puzzles since this video, and I'm currently also working on update as I write this comment! One such change is the ability to turn off the camera following the memory cubes as they bob up and down.
5. It is spelled Neighbor, without a U, in American English, which Hearthians canonically speak.
i can abide all your points but the last, which is egregiously false
33:28 there are two concepts at play here, the wavelength of red light, and the qualia of the color red. A creature's eyes might only be able to detect red wavelengths of light, that much can be determined (they would simply not respond to other wavelengths). But whether that signal would be interpreted by the brain as looking like the red we see is unclear. In fact, we humans don't even know that we experience red in the same way as each other!

@@Harbin_07 the main mod author only just started playing Rain World recently and hasn't beaten it, so unless somebody else came up with the ending then I would say no

What?! I overcomplicated the ending because I never realized the secret in Roja’s room.
I had to fly quickly towards the entrance and eject without hitting anything. That was so I wouldn’t suffocate and it took way too many tries.

Did the memory cube of the Magister rambling about how he knows what elks, owls, and sharks are (by listing alien versions of these animals and talking about how he's been everywhere in the universe) exist after this mod came out or was it always there lol
