@@8bitbulldog I never understood why people always complained about "doze off" taking too long. Makes sense as I play on a PC and there it's very fast vs Consoles.
The part with all the trees and galaxies floating around towards the end reminds me of Narnia a lot, in the first book they're in the "world between worlds" with all the trees and pools that lead to different universes/galaxies/realities.
I saw a speedrun where the person actually skipped the entire first section of the eye by flinging themselves through the vessel’s doors right as the black hole warped them away so that they were on the side with no collisions. They then used their scout gun to propell themselves out of the ship and into the planet (which i assume also didnt have collisions yet because they skipped the black hole) and down through those vortexes and into the next sequence. It shaved off all that extra time it took to walk across the planet
Contrary to popular belief, I really don’t think this speedrun would spoil or “ruin” the experience of this game at all. This speedrun ignores everything that makes this game as good as it is. it's a phenomenal game and i can't recommend it enough. they barely explored a fraction of the solar system in this video too
part of the joy of this game is the exploration and investigations of why all this is happening, I rly can't recommend this game enough such a unique experience
Imagine playing this game in VR while on mushrooms, lol.
DINKLEBERG?!!!
@@NeoPendragon Can you guys suggest similar game? Explorations and investigations in space?
They should now react to the record 8 minutes speedrun, its even crazier!
So many speedrun tactics changed in the past years. Definitely worth checking out a few bew ones
these speedrun videos are great. keep em coming, ign. Best thing on this channel in forever
"First thing he does is fling himself to his death... as we all feel like doing every morning"
Relatable AF
I love that the first split is called "Die"
"We made a really short game." Hey, if it's any consolation, _Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated_ got beaten in under FIVE MINUTES, ON DAY ONE. For comparison, the original version was brought down to 1h17m, _years_ after release...
Watched the WR after this and DAMN they optimized Timber Hearth.
>TFW You look for the eye of the universe for generations only to not find it.
>TFW Some random semi-aquatic four eyed person does it in 10 minutes.
The speedrun is so much better today, would love to see their reaction for the launch code skip xD
What's so sad about this game is that i'll never be able to play it again after discovering the truth... It's a one way journey
I think the experience is worth the price. It's like seeing a movie at the theater
@@x0scimy0x Well not really, cuz you can see all the movie again if you want, but here if you wanna replay the game you can just finish it in 20 minutes lol
There are other alternative endings that you might want to uncover. They're still working on the game and perhaps provide more endings/content in the future
@@SixShooter7 Technically, yes, but the actual game experience is many many hours. Nobody who just bought the game finishes it in 20 minutes.
@@SixShooter7 you could go for 100% ship log on a secod playthrough give it 5 years so you forget most of what you read and go about in a different order
This isn’t getting enough attention and it’s genuinely the only videos on IGN that I watch. Y’all gotta help spread the word
I'd love to hear a reaction to the modern 7-minute runs
Absolute insanity in comparison to this
Really looking forward to their next game! I hope they choose to take their time with it so they can blow my mind again! Thanks for the great game!!
Had the Main Menu of Outer Wilds open during this and not only do the Letters break apart, the Heat Death of the Universe also happens... i love these Details that most people will never see.
Reading these comments and thinking about my time with this game gave me chills. Phenomenal experience
I've been looking forward to a new dev reaction. Keep'em comin IGN
Okie dokie
I've been holding off to watch this until I finished this game. To anyone reading this I totally recommend this game especially if you wish to take a break form your standard choice. To the devs, if you ever read this, your work is marvelous, the grip on science while maintaining creative story telling was amazing.
This is a million dollar idea, getting devs to react to there own game speed runs make it possible IG!!!
I love watching this game so I bought it for myself but once I took off into space I realized this game gives me intense anxiety especially the angler fish and the center of giants deep
Oh, a person just like me, who fears the vast emptiness of space and ocean. I'm thalassophobic, so giant's deep really freak me out
@@kojeta3200 If you want to be freaked out, try playing Subnautica. Its strangely terrifying even for people who don't fear the ocean or open spaces.
@@ManoredRed I've heard about it, but honestly, i'm kinda scared to play haha. Someday I will give it a try
kojo If you do play it, be wary of the crashed ship you escape from at the beginning of the game. You might find something... horrifying.
@@marcosharko8247 understood, i'll keep that in mind
I wonder how it feels for devs to see their years of hard work boil down to 10 minutes of content
I mean that’s one person. The rest enjoy the game. I would be proud if someone enjoyed the game so much they find a quick route to things.
@@mrinde7 I mean this person probably already played the game and obviously played it multiple times so
Generally, they seem to be amused by knocking off their umpteen hours of game in minutes, and impressed at the way speedrunners know the details and seams of their work.
Completing the game very quickly by already knowing what to do is kind of the point of the game, there's even an achievement for it.
@@mrinde7 cause when I enjoy things I wish they were shorter
Just finished the game tonight, what... a.... great... game !!!
Thank you to all of you that made this game possible
Such a great series. I love hearing devs talk about things they didn't know where in the game
Me too!
This is well and truely my #1 game and I’d like to thank you guys for making it. No feeling could come close to playing this game for the first time
Alternative title: How my parents went to school back then according to them
I'd love to see their reactions to the recent 8:50 ish speedruns, the tricks are like 10x crazier
Definitely game of the year of 2019 for me. I wish I could reset my memory and experience it again.
love this series. thanks for continuing it.
More to come!
First the Outer Worlds speedrun, now the Outer Wilds speedrun. I see what you've done here.
It’s all coming together!
I'm loving this new series. Keep it up!
I love how they’re giving tips and saying exactly how it’s coded!!! This is one of the better ones
not to mention that they confirmed some stuff we speculated about for a long time, like if the galaxies actually affect how long you're in the ancient glade, and how fast sleeping is on console
“And I couldn’t even make it past the tutorial!”
This game is amazing, thanks for all guys
Just finished this game yesterday. Go play it, it's one of the best games ever made
Alex you made a game that shines a light of hope
I'd love to see their reaction to the recent record of 7:42 minutes, it breaks the game so much more than this one.
3 minutes saved incredible
Keep doing this series and push it even bigger for ultimate content
You got it
Speedrun is down to 7m13s now.
Hey you guys made a truly amazing and unique game.
If I had to choose one series only to watch on UA-cam forever it would be developers watching their game speedran. 100% every time
Now I really want to play outer wilds. It did look awesome.
Really impressed with the devs love for speed runs. Dig these guys
I've never even heard of this game but hey, that's pretty sweet.
Do yourself a service, buy this game and play it right now.
Contrary to popular belief, I really don’t think this speedrun would spoil or “ruin” the experience of this game at all.
This speedrun ignores everything that makes this game as good as it is. The story, the history, the knowledge of what you’re actually looking at and looking for. So if this video does find yourself in your feed and you haven’t played the game, it’s your choice whether or not you want to play the game before watching this video, but I do hope that if you are at all intrigued at any point, you give it a try ^^
I remember playing this game, I somehow found the space ship that takes you out of the bramble by complete accident, I had to abandon my ship and I just happened to float through the right hole and barely made it to the ship without suffocating, I was so confused as to how I could never find it after before I realized that, that happening on my first try was like a 1 in a million chance,
I also once sent the probe into the quantum moon (or whatever it was called) and looked away, but found the location of the planet on the map, so I always wondered if it was possible to beat the game by simply flying there
What space ship??
It feels weird to watch this knowing there's a shipless speedrun that takes a fraction of this time now... Speedrunners are crazy
The devs that have the speedrun community in mind are the best kinds of devs
