(Chrysler PT) 01-10 PT Cruiser Rough Idle - Faulty Intake Gaskets

This vehicle had codes P0303 and P0304 due to worn intake manifold gaskets that was causing a vacuum leak between these two intake ports. For any PT Cruiser owner that is having problems with misfires or roughness, check your upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. - Авто та транспорт
It'd be nice to see how you got all of that taken apart to get that far into the job... ):
Sometimes due to time constraints, I don't have the time to film the entire repair.
Thank you sir
Thanks ....
Cool,,, gracias
I have the same issue on a 2007 Caliber with the 2.4L. Car runs rough at cold idle and eventually smooths out. I'm certain the manifold is warming up and sealing off the minor leak. It's resulting in a intermittent misfire on cylinder 4.
Sounds like it.
Did you replace the gasket did it fix it
Yes, it did fix the problem.
can you explain how you removed the lower intake manifold and what tools you used. Thanks ...
You will need to remove thermostat/radiator cap housing in order to remove the lower intake manifold. You will need to use 1/4 inch extension with a 1/4 inch 8mm socket and 1/4 inch rachet, my preference for this job.
Injector fuel rail must also be removed for this job.
How many miles was on it when you replace the gaskets in the misfire problems
Slightly over 100,000 miles
Hoping you showed the disassembly and reassembly
Sorry, sometimes do to time constraints, I'm not able to to show the full process.
Eli TheOBDTech do you have any tips in regards to taking out the lower manifold?
@@b_chill sorry for the delay, very busy day. Look at the comments from Vic Villa from this same post.
Great video and info but didn't mention how you found fault. Smoked or used can of brake cleaner , sorry but just a suggestion. You still got a like.
Good point, will consider that for next time. For this diagnosis I used a spray bottle mixed with water and a bit of soap.
I sprayed around the intake manifold and cylinder head.
@@EliTheOBDTech Thanks for the additional info! I agree with Juan, diagnosis is the main reason why I watch.
I had a v6 2000 accord that would stumble and set P300 after it was driven, then allowed to cool for 20mins and then restarted. Did the usual, plugs, wires, valve adjustment etc. Never did find the problem, that was years ago and it still bothers me LOL
@@MrBuddysAdventures I've seen cranck sensors cause those symptoms but for sure no one know until the car is in front of me. Certainly sounds like an electrical problem.
@@JuanOrtiz-mo8be Yeah, doing google searches it was sounding more of a ECM issue but who knows. It went to a couple of independent shops too, they couldn't figure it out either. Surprisingly it did that only in the winter time when they switch to the winter fuel here.
