It's nice to hear a doctor say they'll manage pain if the person wants it. I'm hearing so many horror stories of people being left without pain care after surgeries these days. Personally, my parent did not allow me to take meds post-op my spinal fusion and it has had long-term devastating effects from PTSD. That and chronic pain from EDS has led me towards pro-Rx opioid advocacy and what is being done to people both post-op and in long-term pain is criminal. We're losing a lot of cpps to suicide.

  • @johanneshalberstadt3663
    @johanneshalberstadt3663 3 роки тому

I have a technical question about the lip lift an different outcomes. I am lookingninto lip enhancements for myself, but also just generally interested.
I understand that it lies in the nature of the lip lift, that the medial potion of the lips gets lifted more, than the sides. But I think I wouldn't like that look so much for myself. I feel a more even enlargement from corner to corner would be my ideal.
Now...I've come accross a video here on UA-cam, where I feel like the result was more lifted on the lateral parts of the lip and I noticed that the surgeons constructed the shape of the incision line a bit differently from what I have seen you do. They seemed to keep the shape wider on the laterla parts, wider "bullhorns" if you will with wider tips. The radius of the lower line was bigger, where the horns curve around the side of the nostril, if that makes sense.
I feel like that enabled them to lift the sides of the mouth more because they could gather more tissue at the sides amd stich it upwards. Maybe these observations are unrelated, but a causal relation didcseem plausible to me. Is that just a matter of personal style or are there certain indications or contraindications for doing that? I guess it could put more tension on the scar at the corners of the nose, but it seemed to turn out fine.

I had a sub-nasal lip lift with a facelift 3 yrs ago using a top plastic surgeon in NC. The facelift was good but the lip lift left hypertrophic scarring and long-term discoloration even after painful scar injections. I don't recommend it because even well-trained surgeons can mess it up, take too much or too little (as in my case). Plus he used dissolvable stitches (that don't always dissolve and cause cause scarring.)
To this day I still have itching, uneven texture around the outside of my nose & significant hyperpigmentation.

@@user-et3tf8og9qi hate dissolvable sutures because your skin must absorb them as a foreign object and they create more inflammation in skin and scars than removable sutures do. I always ask for the surgeon to use removable sutures. You must simply ask your surgeon what you want to use and he will agree. Surgeons use dissolvable sutures because patients usually can't or don't want to wait 6-7 days in the city they are traveling to in order to wait for the dr to remove the sutures. I had a lip lift (by a different doctor) and my top lip is still totally numb a year later and stiff looking. I wish I never did it!!!!!

    Reconstructive cheekbone implant here 👋.
What about possible nerve or muscle damage/loss of sensation in the upper lip or moustache area?
Does that happen to a lot of people?
I'm really interested in a minor lip lift.
Toronto here but willing to travel for one of the best surgeons.

This procedure is very hard for me to no notice it I had meet tons of people because I wanted to do it myself but even if the scar is very small in the overall there is something that looks uncanny valley. For many is the way they talk in my experience meeting them

Hello doctor. I have gummy smile but also i have a long philtrum. Can I have a lip lift? I really don't like my philtrum but I talked to two doctors in my city and they told me that because my upper teeth appear when I talk, surgery would worsen my gummy smile and teeth appearing. What can I do? 😶

    • @drgarylinkov

Tough situation but often we can get away with some philtral reduction without worsening the gum show much.

I had a bullhorn lift done in Barcelona. It healed in about a week, I don’t have a scar, even though I didn’t use the scar products the doctor talks about. It’s true it felt tight for some time but nothing too uncomfortable. It was about 1,300 euros- no regrets.

This is a really dumb question, but I often use a saline nose spray (Xlear) for allergies (depending on the season). Would I be able to use this after a lip lift? I wish surgeons who share techniques would start a network. IE if a patient in the south gets refered by you to an affilaite in their area, you could get a referal fee and vise versa. Not all lip lifts are the same and it is soooo evident by before and after photos from various surgeons. In Poland there is doctor whos sutures are so fine, the scar is nearly invisible. He has some kind of unique after care protocol too if i recall…But I don’t think he is sharing that technique with anyone because it gives him an edge in the business and people travel from all over the world to get that procedure done by him.
