For so many years I have looked at my face and while I knew what some issues were there was something else I couldn't quite pin point with my mouth. I felt like I looked like a turtle and hated how my top teeth didn't show. I realized the area above my lip was too long but didn't think anything could be done. When I tell you how excited I am to see this doctors results... This is something that has bothered me for decades. I am going to do everything I can do get to NYC from NC and get this done ASAP!

I don't think I'll ever get cosmetic surgery, but I still enjoy your videos so much. You have really taught me how serious these procedures are, which is very important. In a society where they're growing more and more popular and becoming normalized, it's easy to trivialize them and forget that they are invasive surgeries. Which is why this information is so important, so that the people who do want them really take their time to find a serious and highly skilled surgeon.
Your matter-of-fact breakdown of what is considered attractive and desired by most patients, is also helpful in realizing how incredibly peculiar and almost silly the idea of human beauty is. It has helped me accept my face for what it is and appreciate what I have.

This is amazing work, Dr. Linkov! I have never had the opportunity to focus on the lip lift independently, excluding all other procedures on a face. This made me realize that your patient looks 8-10 years younger with your work, and she looks doesn't look over done on the profile, as is the case for many lip lift patients. Her swelling was minimal. Her scar area looks fantastic in a super short amount of time.

Only after watching your videos did I realise that I have a very short distance between my nose and lips, and I have a good amount of upper teeth showing when I open my mouth! Dr. Gary, Thank you for sharing how you developed your own techniques for minimal scarring! Many POCs like myself worry about scarring. I myself suffered hypertrophic scarring after a laparotomy :( Because it was an emergency in a rural hospital I had no choice about my surgeon or team, I could only requested they suture me up nicely and apply surgical glue as measures to minimize scarring. Will you be publishing your findings? Because I would love to keep refer it to my team when if I can get ''cosmetic'' work done on my huge scar. If you specialized in abdominal reconstructive work, I would have definitely come for a consultation^_^

is there a reason why botox isn’t used to help immobilize the upper lift for recovery? i have been getting botox for the “lip flip” and also to reduce my gummy smile, and botox in those locations definitely immobilizes my upper lip to some extent.
Thank you to your patient for sharing her experience. She's looks amazing! Did she get cheek and chin filler or implants as well? I happened to notice the increase in fullness in those areas and it made me curious. If she did, it looks great too. Id like to have a lip lift but I already have a prominent cupids bow and I worry it would distort the upper lip too much. I guess I need a consult to see.

I have been thinking about a lip lift for quite some time now. I had a revision rhinoplasty a few months ago and was wondering how long you should wait until a lip lift. Also can a lip lift have any negative results on my rhinoplasty? I have heard some people mention it can pull down nose tip?

Personally, I love my tooth show and projection of my top lip. But my bottom lip has little projection and is thinner than my top lip so I have a downturned mouth. I was curious about procedures that could bring more balance to that. TIA!
He replied once to me when I had the same question. He said it's called bottom lip advancement.

W O W ! I heard about lip lifts but didn’t have the in-depth knowledge of what was entailed or the before and after results until now. I’m absolutely blown away by the results! Now I’m wondering if I should have this done in the future. Can it be combined with the shaving down of some small bumps on the bridge of my nose (so not a traditional or complete rhinoplasty) or if they should be done separately. Any guidance or expertise you have would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, what do you recommend to do to increase the upper teeth display? My teeth are healthy and of normal size, yet they seem to be completely hidden behind the upper lip at rest and when smiling naturally, my teeth aren't even half visible (vertically). I am also quite happy with the proportions of my upper lip and wouldn't want my lip to become any bigger. I'm only 18 and not being able to smile properly really sucks, especially given that my smile basically looks like an open toothless mouth.
Initially, I was considering a lip lift since if I pressed the tip of my nose upwards, the skin below the nose and the upper lip were slightly lifted and I was then able to smile beautifully with the upper teeth being clearly visible. However, this video seems to suggest that a lip lift isn't a good idea if it's done for the purpose of increasing the upper tooth show.

What is the average cost of a Lip Lift?
I'm so glad I watched this. Once again, a very helpful, informative video, with excellent examples. You touched on several points that I've been wondering about. I am looking forward to having facial feminization surgery, hopefully in the not too distant future, and as mine is a rather complex case, I have some concerns about what can be done and what to expect.
I suffered a very severe jaw injury 17 years ago that drastically altered the planes of the lower half of my face. The swelling from the initial injury was so severe that my lips separated from my face all the way around my vermillion border, leaving it with a very jagged outline, not unlike a watercolour painting. I have wondered if there is a permanent solution for that, other than tattooing, but in the meantime I have found that a lipliner matched to my vermillion border helps immensely.
Lastly, I found your advice about lip lift recovery to be very helpful and your patients' results to be remarkable. I only wish I could come to you for mine, but I don't know if you accept Medicaid. Thank You for the wealth of information you continue to provide!
