As an almost 64 year old who looks in the mirror and sees her grandmother looking back at her, I am reminded again, that old age is not for the faint hearted... But it is a privilege. I have been young, I've been a mature, confident mother, now I get to master wisdom, and I think you do it better when you look the part. And it's cheaper!
And you don't exude a sense of desperation to stay young and relevant because you know that you are intrinsically valuable, therefore forever relevant, and you've gained wisdom through experience which can never be replicated in youth. It's not always easy for once undeniably gorgeous young women to age gracefully without enhancements, especially in cities such as Los Angeles. Still, without cosmetic surgery we are able to retain our curiosity about how we will naturally outwardly evolve. There's a sort of comfort that comes with looking in the mirror and finding the culmination of life experiences reflected upon the map of our natural facial features. It's the serenity of a grandmother (regardless if there are children or grandchildren in her life) who accepts herself along with everything positive and negative which has shaped her through the years. Same is true for everyone, of course, the culture only puts more pressure upon women to look eternally, artificially young.
I am a couple of years younger than Madonna. I often say that there comes a point when "the boat springs leaks" faster than you can plug them, and you can reach a point where the face/body parts just aren't cohesive. Gravity is relentless, bone density thins, tissues break down beyond the ability for the body to regenerate. Looking "good for my age" and being as healthy as possible is the goal for me, not looking eternally 20.
I am right there with ya sista🙂 Although some people dislike the expression looking good for your age I'll take it any day of the week! I just don't want to look older than I am and some people do. People think they can turn back the clock by getting plastic surgery but it just keeps on ticking😆
Madonna is accusing people of being "ageist" but she's the one who's trying to literally stop age from happening. She is the one who is terrified of it. So who really is the ageist here?
I agree. She is the one self projecting her own deep seeded insecurities & ageist fear of getting old. Her eyes look full of resentment, angry, bitter & cold. She will turn 65 on her next birthday. Medicare for Madonna in August 2023.
She’s not saying people are ageist about her face, shes saying people are ageist because people keep telling her to act her age. They’re always telling her how to be 😂 She’s allowed to look and act how she wants and all you couch potatoes always have something to say. Fixing your face isn’t ageist, it’s societal pressure because no one ever shuts up about anything. She wants to appear younger because in this world that’s the only way to stay popular as a woman in her industry. Just cause your family doesn’t care how old you look, doesn’t mean that the people around her do. Over time, over all changes, people have had something negative to say. Look at Lil Kim… She’s a celebrity and has been her whole life, she’s Madonna… You may not care but you’re literally one person she’ll never know exists. No one cares to watch you sing or dance. You’re not known internationally by your first name. There are tens of thousands of people minimum always on her case. That fucks with your head and how you see yourself. You always think you need to fix something. You saying she shouldn’t look like THAT will make people like her want to go in and fix more. Just cause you’re on this side of the argument doesn’t mean people like y’all aren’t part of the problem. Take yourself off your high horse. Look at the mirror and fix yourself. How people look really isn’t any way, shape, or form, anyone’s business. Have an opinion, but dont be ignorant about the effects of voicing it. You probably loved Madonna as a kid and now hate on her cause she looks different. 🗑️ 😂 Fake fans everywhere, mean women on every corner.
Keep up Sailor. People mocked her for aging and society shoves out those who do especially in her field. Now that she has had surgeries to combat this look of age they mock her still. So yes it actually does go back to ageism. You will find article dates article about aging women in Hollywood where they show a picture of them young then say omg what happened. Its quite sick but it's the world many live in. Why comment if you dont even know what you are talking about? The real issue is it's disgusting to even comment on her or anyones looks. Who are you to do so?
My grandson showed me a picture he found from 25 years ago of me and his granddad. I thought to myself, "Hey, look how young and cute we were!" Then he blurted out, "I don't like this picture! You and Pop don't look like you! I like your hair, face now, and wrinkles!" He doesn't mind we look older. He actually prefers it. He knows who we really are. What a blessing-
My grandchildren say the same thing. I don’t mind aging, it’s life. I’m 76, a great grandmother, I just wish mentally I wasn’t 30ish. There are so many things I’d love to do or love to wear and it’s not age appropriate.
@@mchapman132anything is age appropriate once you’re an adult! you can choose to wear what makes you happy, at any age. live YOUR life the way YOU want to. seriously.
@@mars_mallow_ - Well, I have to disagree a bit. When I was young I’d wear all the popular trends……mini skirts, bell bottoms, lace blouses with no bra! I’m not going to wear ripped jeans, I don’t care how pricey they are. I’d love to wear 5” heels….not anymore. I’d love to wear a bikini again, but no one wants to see their great grandmother in a bikini.
I love that Madonna said that people making fun of her awful plastic surgery is ageism, when in reality being so scared of old age that you butcher your face is the ultimate sign of ageism.
Yes, so true! Madonna is a narcissist, and a classic tactic they use is "projection" and "gaslighting" to try to divert the blame or responsibility away from themselves...
Women can’t win, they age naturally then it’s constantly pointed out that they’re (shock horror) aging, they try to mask it with procedures and they’re mocked for it. It’s not Madonna that’s ageist it’s society.
@@joycegibbs5267 no it’s society that’s gaslighting. No one gets this work amount done without outward pressure. Society pushes them to mask aging by constantly talking about women as they age and then they’re mocked for it by the same society which calls THEM ageist - THAT is gaslighting.
I dont want to be superficial or criticize anyone for their beauty choices, but I think these videos are helpful. We should know that this isnt natural so we aren't so hard on ourselves.
Totally agree ! in our society women are not allowed to grow old , especially true for show business ´s women. First face lift in her mid 30’s ! What a pity ! I wouldn’t want to be in that women’s shoes. Life is so miserable when your image is that important .
My daughter seems obsessed with wrinkles. She wanted me to get Botox and consider surgery. I'm going on 80. My reply was: " I've earned every one of these wrinkles. I'm keeping them. End of conversation." However, she is always buying me creams for my face and body. I'm sure a normal person would start to get a complex, but I consider myself just fine. It can't be that bad I've had two marriage proposals in the last 3 years....but just not ready for another marriage. I'm content and happy on my own with my wrinkles.
If you're going on 80 and receiving marriage proposals, it sounds like someone is jealous. Buy your daughter anti-wrinkle cream and wait for the reaction. 😉👍
As a person that likes skincare, I think people need to be very careful with the slippery slope that "self care" can be. Sure, avoid wrinkles if YOU want to, but don't force or shame other people's body. Also, don't shame yourself for a natural process.
The problem is - doing all this stuff to your face does not end up making you look young and beautiful and glamorous. Instead it makes you look increasingly strange and asymmetrical and puffy. People no longer compliment you but instead discuss how disturbing you appear.
It is possible to have plastic surgery and still look natural. A great surgeon and restraint is necessary. I think Jane Fonda is a great example. Yes, she's had work done, and she does look younger. No, she doesn't look like an alien.
@@always_b_natural703 re-read what you said. You used the word “ natural “ to describe an unnatural procedure that alters one’s normal appearance. Really?
When I was in highschool, I wanted a nose job. I went to get a consultation and was close to doing it, but I was so afraid of it being botched or my face drastically changing that I decided to work on my confidence and self esteem instead. I think this decision has helped me accept aging as well.
Same for me...And my best friends told me that they loved my nose, and would not speak to me again if I changed it.. Nothing like a bit of tough love from friends that I will cherish forever...
When in elementary school I was mocked by one of the boys cause of my nose. I feel insecure about my nose til today ,, but I'm afraid of the effects of plastic surgery

As a recovering heroin addict celebrating 15 years clean, I’m just now hitting forty. I don’t want to get old of course, but it is a damn privilege to have gotten here. I have lost so many friends at a young age. They never got this chance. I am so grateful.
Yo, mad... AHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sorry for the outburst! But GOddamn, I was not expecting that. What does that have to do!?!? I get it, i get it sorry, sorry, getting old... It just hit me different, just why in a Madonna plastic surgery video... "As a recovering heroin addict..." Maybe I'm twisted. Good work though! Keep up the good work for real, addiction is basically... Hardest level of problem in my opinion. You're in a constant psychosis for years. Been there... Still there. Anyway, peace!
Good for you. Im 56 and ain't gonna lie sometimes it's a literal pain getting older and then I remember my family and friends who didn't make it this far. Stay clean.
I could be wrong but I’m assuming as celebrities get older the start enjoying good food because they spent years starving themselves to look good. so as they began to gain weight it fills their face out so they go under the knife trying to keep that slim structure. personally at 60 that’s really a time to embrace those age marks and wrinkles. those surgeries are making her look like “saw” the movie!
“The neck never lies” The same goes for the hands. It amazes me that people who use plastic surgery on their face to “look younger” it’s always the hands that tell the truth and, they are never addressed.
notice madonna always wears gloves now. Caught a look at her hands a few years ago- very ropey, very old looking, mainly because madonna is so thin I think, and has little body fat, makes it worse.
@@iconc1402 I agree. She's incredibly fit, but no longer has that thin layer of fat most younger women would have to round them out. Unfortunately that lack of fat can make a person look so much older. Fillers can't compensate for that without looking unnatural. She's always been so beautiful and will always be, but perhaps putting on a little as three to five pounds can give her a more natural look on both hands and face.
I grew up in the early years of Madonna. Definitely a fan. She was beautiful, talented, always pushing the limits. But youth is short-lived and some people want it to last forever. It's a battle everyone loses.
I remember on my wedding day my husband’s aunt drove me to the church and she was in her 70’s. She was a very glamorous “dressed to the nines” lady. She looked at me, 26yrs in my beautiful wedding dress, hair in a gorgeous bun with silk wrapped around and tulle cascading down, my gown fit like a glove and I was a dancer and had the figure of a rockette… she said, “Hunny, gettin old ain’t for sissies!!! I’ll never forget that and I adored her! I’m 57 now and she was right! I don’t have Madonna’s money and I sure don’t look 26 anymore! But that’s life and I’m happy still married, have 2 great kids in their 20’s and count my blessings everyday!🤩😍🌈
I’m hoping that 57 is actually easier mentally than right now for me at 50. I’m not yet comfortable with the fact that I am appearing older … so I’m in disbelief that it is happening … my girlfriends who have completed their menopause crap, and have hit 55+ seem more comfortable in their skin - and it shows with their smiles, acceptance and confidence. I have to get ready for a party right now … and am feeling a little meh. I think silk gulp some champagne to get me to relax…. 😉 Nice post … you sound fantastic. 😘
sad about what? Do you think she is unhappy? Anyway, this video is out of date with what she looks like now - she has some much-needed work done (face lift and cheek implants) and she looks WAY better. Probably still "sad" to people like you, though.
@@xBINARYGODx she very easily could be unhappy....you have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. Losing her mother at a young age I'm sure wasn't great psychologically on her. I know watching my mother take her last breath (it's a sound I will never forget) in my early 30s was awful....and changed me. I can only what happened to Madonna at 6.
Thank you for being educational, fair, and very kind to the people whom you're describing! I really appreciate learning about how faces age in terms of muscle tissue, bone density, etc., and what that looks like on an aging face with or without surgical or nonsurgical methods. My grandfather is turning 98 this year and I've been looking at pictures from when he was younger--what's really fun for me is to still see how he greatly remains himself even though he's undeniably older. I don't think I'll age nearly as well as he has simply for the fact that I have less melanin protection, but I hope if I can take good care of myself and am lucky enough to make it anywhere close to his age that I can still see myself, too.
I like what Carrie fisher said, “I didn’t know I was supposed to never change.” She was 22 in Star Wars, and people were comparing her to those days more than 30 years later …
This always gets on my nerves. I watched a video on UA-cam a while ago where they were comparing the look of actors when they were in their late teens or twenties to when they were in their seventies and eighties and saying how badly they’d aged. Er …. they’re in their eighties - they’re entitled to look eighty believe it or not! But that last picture of Madonna barely looks like her.
@@janicevango5791 It's true that many of these stars start to look truly bizarre after having so many surgical procedures, think of Faye Dunaway and Priscilla Presley. But it's really no surprise when you have people microassessing every wrinkle, every tiny sag of the skin, they can't help but feel they have to stave off that criticism. I wish we could just get over this obsession with youth and the idea that even after 60, 70 or 80 we still need to match up to that beauty standard. And, of course, it's always women who are brutally assessed as being inadequate.
What she didn't know is that she can age, but it will be her younger self who will get more admiration. Celebs have trouble living with that because they tend to be vain and narcissistic.
@@UA-camsucks-m9bit's not that, many celebrities are actually depressed. The truth is they have difficulty getting work as they age, especially women.
I agree, but of course his job depends on his patients not feeling judged. Which is also why he fails to question any of the premises that all of this is based on: did madonna REALLY need to look young to further her career, or could it have been possible to use her power to actually challenge the dominant idea that old = bad ?
He's my doctor and he's a wonderful doctor and skilled surgeon. He stays abreast of the latest developments, good and bad, he's passionate about his work, his approach is conservative and he limits the sorts of work he will perform to what he considers tried and true. I can't use him for everything, but what he does do for me is awesome.
When you're in your 60's and everyone knows it, you aren't fooling people as they know you. To rearrange your face so many times ends in disaster, just my opinion. Kenny Rodgers is a textbook example. He looked just fine for an older man but we know how that turned out. I'm the same age as Madonna and satisfied with the aging look. Maybe having oily skin helps keep wrinkles down.?
I feel really sad for Madonna. As a 66 year old I wear my graying to white hair with pride. My wrinkles are a sign of a life well lived. It’s sad she couldn’t feel confident about being who she was.
Some people make a living using their appearance. That's what Madonna and other celebs do, and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is many choose the wrong doctors.
She's lived the better part of her life under a microscope. With all the judgements of her looks I imagine she is a bit paranoid. I couldn't live her life and not be paranoid.
I like Dr Gary's approch to plastic surgery of celebreties. He doesn't ridicule or make things sound sensational. He just points out interesting traits and often quietly concerned about extreme cases. Dr Gary is a decent fellow.
Hes a professional person . Why would he ridicule her ? Why would anyone ? Thers huge pressure on people like her to remain youthful looking it's her career depending on it . I do admire people who age naturally . Beauty shines from within through all the ageing .
@@whoswhoo I'd say highly ethical and professional and exactly the way one would expect a health specialist to act. Especially someone in such a complex and intimate speciality as aesthetic surgery. I just watched Roseanne say to a crowd at a comedy club (paraphrasing): "It's so nice to come from California to Texas and actually see real faces, with real lines, real wrinkles, real signs of aging on real people, instead of a bunch of fake, plastic people". I always thought wrinkles were like the physical manifestations of life lived and wisdom...I love seeing smile and scowl lines, it says a lot about the state of a person's mind, the hardship they've been through, the joy they have had. Natural is much more beautiful than plastic and wrinkles are beautiful battle scars of everyday living.
I’m 63, around the same as she is. I’m glad I have just left it all alone. I’m a community theater actress, and I like the roles I’ve been able to play in recent years. Of course, I never could afford this anyway, but even Botox seems terrifying to me. In my opinion you have your chance to be young, then it’s other’s turn to be the young ones. Wear your sunscreen, moisturize, drink water, don’t smoke cigs or drink alcohol. And smile! You always look younger when you’re relaxed and happy.
Yeah I'm the same ...i mean if you have any work done on any part of your body you can hide it...but not the face ... madonna's face is just horrific ...im sorry but she has destroyed her face just like Michael Jackson ....im just go scared to do anything but its the cost too.
The saddest part of this is that the body still ages no matter what. There is no amount of surgeries that can slow or stop the aging process. Aging is part of being human and it's better to age with grace than fight the inevitable. Edit- because some take it upon themselves to read too deeply into my comment and take offense to it. I don't mean to offend, shame, or judge anyone who wants or has had surgeries. "Aging with grace" is a figure of speech and it means to learn, understand, and accept the changes of life and changes within our bodies. Grace has nothing to do with what we do to our bodies or looks and everything to do with our mindset and how we react. That being said not everyone has the money or access to have surgeries done. While, there is nothing wrong with having surgeries done, there is also nothing wrong with aging and embracing our bodies naturally; there is no right or wrong way to do it. ❤
You can age with grace AND have any procedure you like. There is nothing "graceful" about not having work done. That's some weird elitism right there. Women need to support each other not shame women who choose how they want to age. None of us is getting out of here alive.
@@cs5384 Lol I struck a nerve I see. I think you misunderstood what I said and why I said it. I am not trying to shame women; in fact people have the right to do what ever they like to their own bodies. I didn't say if you got surgeries that makes you any less graceful. Gracefulness has nothing to do with the body or looks its about personality and mindset. And if you took it that way, I am sorry. I only meant that regardless surgery or not the human body still ages. We all grow old and die that is just simple fact of human biology. Surgeries will not stop aging. If it helps people feel good and confident then all the better. But in my personal OPINION, I rather embrace every wrinkle, scar, stretch mark on my body and skin and embrace the woman I am and will become. That is MY mindset. MY opinion. Having an opinion doesn't make me an elitist by the way, I think you need to do actual research of what an elitist is instead of reading comments and being triggered and offended. I won't go back and forth with you, find online fighting juvenile lmao. Anyways God bless and I hope you have an amazing day
it would be wonderful if she could do that but once you start tampering the aging that occurs after will ruin the surgery and you will have a mess so you have no choice but to continue. its a sad story
I heavy disagree. She looks scary to me, I don’t think she’s aged well at all. I’ll always prefer less instead of more when it comes to makeup and work done
I'm 57. People tell me I look a few years younger than my stated age. I think they're just being polite. I did have a septorhinoplasty at age 27 because my nose was broke in 9th grade gym class. I have acne scars, seborrheic dermatitis of the nose and malasma of the posterior jaw region (from years of oral contraceptives). Sure there's things I wish I could afford to do but this is who I am. I've had a very hard life. I've earned every flaw along with a badge of honor on my sleeve. I have 10 classmates that I bet wish they were alive to embrace the aging process.
I'm 53 and absolutely detest getting older. When I catch glimpses of myself I can't believe it's really me. I dont smoke or drink. One of my biggest passions is weight lifting so I stay active; I look early 50's like I should, and still absolutely detest getting older. It's not a badge of honor for me. I find nothing dignified about wrinkles, and grey hair from what I'm experiencing. Old people look like those old apple dolls, like charicatures of their real selves. I keep looking for the good, I keep struggling to find the positives of getting older. I'm not finding many... if any. I pray for the attitude and peace u have with it.
How very sad! I'm just a tad older than Madonna. I've always kept my face clean, followed by moisturizing. No foundation. I'm happy with my life and my gracefully aging face.
Can I ask what moisturizer you like? I feel like I am so lost as what kind to use. In the summer I have very oily skin and then very dry in winter. Very sensitive and easily to breakout.
As I’m getting older my mirror isn’t that friendly to me anymore. You know all the wrinkles in the forehead, brown spots, drooping mouth corners… Sometimes I get so frustrated that I also want a facelift. Then my husband tells me that that is not necessary. That I still look good. He really is an angel ❤
For me it's the lower chin... it was always a little problem in my youth (a little double chin), that I could manage by just keeping my head up...but I'd have to look up at the sky now🤪. In my latter 50s, I still don't have a much in the way of wrinkles and my big skin issue is rosacea...thank heavens for the green cover stick that removes a lot of my redness. Otherwise, I get mistaken for 40s. I've appeared about 5-10 years younger since I was 19... getting my hair cut for boot camp, I was told "You must be excited about starting highschool... getting a new hairstyle and all." 😂 Since then, it's been a lot of strange moments...the officer that wanted to know WHICH Ssgt was letting their kid wear their full uniform on base, the mall guard wanting to know why I wasn't at the highschool during school hours (I was 24, a veteran at this point, and at the local college). I had to drag out my license, military ID, and college ID. 🤷 It was annoying, but now I am enjoying the relatively slow pace of aging I'm prone to. Poor hubby is 4 years older and looks a few years older than he actually is. Meanwhile, I am told I look younger...a little bit of extra mom weight is involved too. There's one thing for sure...gravity works, when everything else fails. 😂
I stumbled upon your site and I really appreciate your thoughtful, careful and non-judgmental discussion of cosmetic surgery techniques and who might have had what. I believe that aging is an individual process and everyone should be free to do what they (and their wallet) want and can handle. As a 58 year old woman, I am cautiously entering the world of Botox and fillers. I don't want to look younger, but just as good as I can for my age. Aging is a gift that I am so blessed to have right now, but a few nonsurgical boosts to Mother Nature make me feel better.
My aunt, who lived to 100, said "gettin' old ain't for sissies." It just makes me sad when people destroy their bodies trying to retain their youth. It can't be done. Aging gracefully is the best we can hope for. Meryl Streep, Barbara Streisand, Glenn Close and many others embrace age with wisdom.
Madonna has not destroyed her body. Have you SEEN her move? Good night I'm 12 years younger than her and I can't do a fraction of what she can do. There is nothing wrong with her face. It's not destroyed. If she hadn't done this people would be shredding her for being so wrinkled.
Everyone ages differently and quite frankly we don’t know what Madonna would look like if she didn’t have work done. For all we know she was aging like a grape and she would be look absolutely haggard had she not filled out her face. In any event, it’s not for us to judge.
She has a problem with aging and does everything to look younger. She's 64 now and she'll never look like 20 again. She doesn't look good. We all get older, that's life. Every phase of life has something wonderful and that has nothing to do with how we look. I'm 52 and I'm proud of my age! I would like to make one thing clear, as I have often been insulted here. I just realized that she's 64 and will never look 20 again. I didn't insult Madonna by saying that. So please stop insulting me.
I think the thing is: once you have started doing surgery, you can ´t stop anymore. It ´s like people who use sunbeds on a regular basis: they think they are pale, when they don ´t go 😮
It's ironic that we seek to stay young forever but doing all these things actually makes us look older at a certain age. That can be seen in this video. I think she looked the best in her 40s and then it started declining because she's been doing too much.
I agree. I am 69 and at age 45 I got a lower eye lid surgery. I had been ill with Lyme's disease and I looked pretty stressed . It was the best decision I ever made and only cost $2,000. i recently went to a plastic surgeon as I need an upper eyelid surgery now and I asked if a second lower one would be necessary. He said laser work was all I needed. The first one still looks pretty good. I have great skin according to him which I think makes me look good for my age. I take good care of my health and am not on any medications. If I could afford more work I would consider a brow lift or even a facelift. I do not ever want to look "weird" in my 70's with lots of fillers etc. I will keep my so called imperfections. They are what makes all of us who we are as individuals.
@@bluewaters3100 i have nothing against people who go on plastic surgeries on their faces because to each his own. But I also really2x admire celebrities who gracefully ages. Like supermodel Cristy Turlington, one of the most beautiful faces of all time. She looks old now, but you can tell she is still so beautiful and the way she looks old is with grace.
I’m not against plastic surgery. You should feel comfortable in your skin. But always remember, being able to get old is a PRIVILEGE many who die young are not granted.
She’d look better today if she had never done anything! She was unequivocally amazing and gorgeous looking just the way she was. I wish people saw themselves the way strangers, friends and family see us. Madonna was absolutely drop dead gorgeous just 7-8 years ago! She’s unrecognizable today, and i wish people could just love who they are and each other without feeling they need to change, because you absolutely don’t!
To be honest, I'm not convinced she'd look better if she never had any procedures. She was visibly aging pretty quickly by the time she hit 40, and that was nearly 30 years ago. She'd look quite hollow and saggy by now, possibly even older than she actually is.
So what is wrong with aging? Why does the media and media blogs, and whatever segment of society, think it's distasteful to actually look your age? Especially if you're a woman.. Fortunately it's changing, but slowly.
It's amazing how all the money in the world can still not produce plastic surgery that actually makes you look younger. You retain some youthfulness features that make you look good for your age and youthful, but clearly nobody would confuse current Madonna with a 20-something or even 30-something.
Well he did mention some things that you make you look younger. Botox will calm the stress of muscles, fillers will re-volumize the area. That happens as we get older. Also remember he said your bones even change. Your bones! There’s only so many things you can do. I totally understand the pressure thing to stay young looking but I also think she is somebody who would want to stay young looking and be on top for as long as you can. No one has a magic bullet to keep you looking 25. That makes me laugh lol
I recently saw Helen Mirren on the Graham Norton show (it's about a year old) and I was shocked that she clearly has not had any kind of cosmetic augmentation = RESPECT.
I agree....also look at other great British dames, Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Diana Rigg, Vanessa Redgrave, Lynn Redgrave. They're queens of acting and personalities!
Hello there. I admire Helen Mirren as an actress but I think she has had some work done. I noticed that the lines under her eyes (laughter lines) swept upwards which I think is a sure sign of a face lift.
I'm 95 years old and lived a healthy lifestyle. Intermittent fasting, 24 hour water fast once a month. No sugar, Very few carbs and mostly meat, fish, chicken. I go to the gym regular to do weights and cardio. Also regular walking. Now i don't recommend that anyone follow what i do, it's difficult and takes a lot of commitment. But I'm 95 years old and look like I'm 40 years old. Madonna has started to look like jigsaw from the horror movie Saw. She should have just agreed gracefully instead of embarrassing herself and the rest of us pensioners.
It must be Madonnas WORST nightmare to have turned herself into the very thing that she tried so hard to not become. Her whole career was based on image, changing herself every few months to a completely different person, but always stunning beautiful and in Vogue. This caused her to put way too much emphasis into her looks as she got older. And that has been her downfall. And the result is someone who now displays to the world how not to respect yourself as you age. What a lasting legacy after all that hard work, poor Madge.
I'm 63 yrs old. I was always told when younger how pretty I was and a good figure by both men and women. I still had hang ups about my body but always thought to embrace my youth and I was always conscious it wouldnt last and people need to be more than about looks. It doesnt feel that great looking old but I am healthy, still alive and still feel young inside.
You are 10 yrs older than my mom. I turned 29 couple days ago and I'll just say that by the time I turned 26-27 , I realized that adults are just regular ppl only more experienced. They don't know everything and they don't feel old or they don't feel like they have a lot of wisdom bcz when I was 15,I saw 27 as old. When I was 5,my mom was 30 and obviously I would have thought that she knows everything and now that I am 29 and I have lived more life than she did at 29 bcz I have lived at different places and still I feel like I have barely experienced anything and that time has just swiftly passed. I can also see that how easy it is to see the mistake that a 14 yr old is making bcz we were the same at 14 , thinking we are now adult so we know what we are doing although we didn't know anything. Kids judge even a 29 yr old now so a tiny bit of insecurity is there sometimes but I see how confident my mom is of herself. She lived a rough life and now her life got easier so she is happy with that and when I was 16 and I once said sth like I won't live anymore bcz I failed in an exam, my mom said to me that "Not everyone gets to live a long life so if you are getting that chance , live as long as you can and try your best bcz many want to live but don't get the chance" and she said that bcz her dad died when he was 27-28, my dad aka her husband died when he was 31 and my mom's first born died at the age of 2.5 yrs old so she jist learned to appreciate life bcz all the deaths happened all of a sudden and it was all at different time. I learned to appreciate life bcz of her. The way society is going , it will get only harder to not get tempted by all this but one of the blessing in disguise I had was my bad mental health from which I healed and it took 7-8 yrs so that's why I got completely chilled by the time I reachee 28 bcz the world will always try to play on your insecurity but I have the responsibility to keep myself healthy and happy and so why care about the world. The sooner I accept myself the way I am, the easier it will be to live happily for the rest of my life.
I'm a 68 year old man and my own relatives have accused me of having work done, and no one ever believed I was as old as I was through the years, but I started moisturizing in my teens and I didn't drink much alcohol. I did start smoking in my late twenties but I quit after a couple of decades. It wasn't until I had health issues and I became a caregiver for my parents that gravity caught up with me, but I still get compliments on my skin and lack of deep wrinkles.
I love myself and the way I look now. I was bullied when I was kid because I did not look like the other pretty girls. My self confidence was down for long time. The way I think about me changed when my first cat walked into my life 7 years ago. Now age 52 the last thing I have in mind is to look younger. Rescuing animals helping other people who needs help makes me feel Young.
Moving on to other things is good, we all get old eventually. Even celebrities will look old at some point. It all means nothing. Being a good person and making a difference even if its not on a huge scale is important and gives you a lot of satisfaction and happiness. And you don't look desperate trying to look too young.
I rescue cats too. That is so much more important than serving vanity! Have you ever noticed that when you love and accept yourself you are so much happier. She would drink the blood of babies if she thought it would keep her young.
It's really expensive to fight nature, and I would say nature eventually wins. Be nice to see some people growing older with grace and acceptance. Now that would be beautiful.
I hear you. Turned 70. There is an older woman looking back at me in the mirror. 😁 What the heck happened? Keeps me humble and focussed on health now rather than what’s not as lovely looking as when I was young. Gravity always wins! 😉
I am right with you at 67. I have never been overly vain but I almost have an anxiety attack when I look in a mirror, especially with my glasses on. It is sad that so many women are not comfortable aging naturally.
@@Kexgoija - I think it’s just the fact that you’re near 70. 70 sounds older than other decades. Once you start getting up in age, I believe you start to realize health is what’s important, not little details on your face. We need to be healthy and happy because that’s really what matters.
The problem is that, once you start, you can't stop. The pulling of the skin stretches it and, as the aging continues, the skin sags more but now the stretched skin makes the problem even worse and another face-lift is required. It becomes a vicious cycle.
My biggest question is - If Madonna came to you as a patient and said “I know I’ve gone too far and I want to look as natural as I can,” what procedures would you recommend? I imagine dissolving the fillers would result in sagging skin, but she’s already had so many lifts. Is she past the point of no return?
This is why we need to let ourselves age naturally. Just let it happen and accept it. There is a certain age limit where your face can look good with fillers, granted it's done by a good doctor. But in old age it's never gonna work. Aging is okay and we should accept it.
@TucsonDude absolutely. It's the media and public who are at fault. Women aren't ALLOWED to age normally in Hollywood. Not if they want work. It's fucking bullshit.
That's sad how there's such a fear of aging and fighting it so hard. I'm 48 and use natural oils on my face and that's it other than a touch of makeup, not too much. My mom is 76 and looks good and natural. It's ok to age and even look your age. Blessings 🙏
many people use creams that promise the world. But natural oils, minimal makeup (if nothing at all) and sun protection with products that don't have chemicals and are animal friendly is the best.
I am the same age. A women in an elevator this week commented that I "looked 45." I work out, eat healthy and live a compassionate purposeful life volunteering where I can. There is beauty in aging if you allow it. Cosmetic surgery can be averted in you exercise your facial muscles. I do not want to look 25. I like who I am becoming and want no alterations.
This! ❤ Many women, including you and I, resort to exercise or at least be active, eat good food, sleep well, & positive mind to be beautiful, inside & outside. We believe the strategy is sufficient for us -- no need for needle, let alone scalpel. And the strategy is fruitful: I assume you're 64 years old and get compliment for looking like 45 (and I bet you feel like 45 😉). I'm 47, but looking & feeling much younger. So, I'm confused. Madonna has always been into exercise and good diet. I still remember her toned body in the 90's. She still has the body. Not as good as in the past, of course. But still good, tho. All the exercise and diet has done good for her body. Why doesn't she just let the exercise and diet work for her face? Why resort to plastic surgery? OK, she's celebrity. She need some extra for her face. A little botox might give some extra kicks. Or a little bit of hyalutonic acid injection. But why overdoing her face? Why, Girl, why? Tsk, tsk, tsk...
I am a couple of years older than Madonna, and feel the same way. I work out nearly everyday, and try to eat right. My face may look old, but I 'feel' younger. Good health, rather than plastic surgery, is what those our age should strive for.
@PulledPorkGarageYes, he is quite proud of the wonderful things he can do to make normal aging look like a monster make over for a Frankenstein movie. For the right price of course.
In some countries growing old is viewed as a plus. The elderly are respected, cared for and revered. There is no shame in getting older--it should be embraced and honoured.
I couldn't believe how bad Madonna's surgery was when she was on the Grammys this past Sunday. Can you do a review of what she did to her face recently. Thanks 😊
Agree. I'm still finding it very hard to believe the person, supposedly, was Madonna. I've looked at pictures from the Grammys and I do not see Madonna. Even her eye color looks brown, not blue.
Yes; Dr Gary…. Please do an update of the most recent surgical work.. not to be mean but because her facial changes are so incredibly dramatic, they need an explanation…
Where is the final??? She looks so alien, not like Madonna at all anymore these days. It seems like science fiction. I was shocked the first and last time I would look at her, after years. She is gone. It's sad and it's warning. She was such a bright star
I think it’s noteworthy that she doesn’t appear to have had a rhinoplasty - to her credit! Her natural nose wasn’t “perfect“, but it was perfect for her face. Loved the video.
Agreed. And the same goes for her teeth. She never changed them it seems despite of having a gap between her top front teeth. Which I think is sexy if I might add. But many others would have changed them to what is considered the typical perfect Hollywood smile.
She had one but early on. Her pre-fame pics shows her with a bulbier tip&larger nostrils instead of the barely visible ones we know on her. Hollywood hate nostrils but she was perfectly fine with it.
her problems now is her Instagram with all these over photoshoped photos of herself, a virtual Madonna (science fiction) and when we see her in public we can only notice the big difference between her virtual avatar and the reality. she looks wierd now and she also acts oddly
The idea of someone cutting the skin on my face and hiking it up like a pair of pants really freaks me the f out! Also, this was incredibly informative and interesting!
What I’m shocked about is the surgeons who have mutilated Madonna’s face now. Her latest interventions have made her almost unrecognisable. I know it’s her choice to have surgery and I’m not criticising her but I am criticising the surgeons who have turned her face into a caricature of herself. It’s sad that women feel they need to mutilate themselves in order to still feel relevant in today’s society. There is nothing wrong with wanting to make the best of yourself and maybe minor tweaks but not destroying your original face in the process.
I give full credit to the doc for being respectful and maintaining a certain sensitivity when analyzing Madonna's transformation over the years. That would certainly be a much taller order had he waited a year until after her most recent Grammy's appearance. That being said, her defense of herself is expected and understandable in that we try to bring ourselves up not to draw impolite attention to people with different appearances and abilities. Much harder to do when certain people cosmetically modify themselves to noticeably appear more youthful, and the public pays the social toll with lectures on newly invented -isms and toxicity every time said people grossly miss the target on that aim.
I was just about to say the same thing. He's very respectful and thorough when it explaining. It irritates me to Dr's make videos making fun of people for likes on the internet. I sure wouldn't ever want them to be my doctor
@@connievino4226 Madonna's past behaviour and celebrity status makes her somewhat of a lightning rod for harsh criticism, both fair and cruel. Some people would use the topic of her cosmetic progression over the years to really lay it in on her.
As a man who had an almost life ending work injury in 2000 at aged 19, I’ve now had THIRTY surgeries to rebuild my broken body. I have absolutely no comprehension of how anyone could put themselves through surgery, no matter how small, when it isn’t actually needed. Grow old gracefully people.
I keep thinking that, but then for someone like you who is someone who needs it... I'm a little glad there are people willing to put themselves on the line so plastic surgeons can improve their techniques for people who really need it. Which is why plastic surgery was developed in the first place - war and accident victims. With reconstruction due to health issues added to the list. So, thank you all who redo your body for fun, because it helps people in need!
You have to understand as well, though she’s in the entertainment business and sadly at the end of the day you are a product and your looks are what sells. If it wasn’t for that, a lot of these people in the entertainment business wouldn’t be doing all those surgeries on their face. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a small percentage that are just obsessed with not getting old maybe Madonna‘s one of them, but a lot of of them do it because of the work they do.
I think Dr Gary hit on something you don't hear often. The bone structure decays as well when we age. I think Madonna's surgeries have been very good, but the bone structure is not cooperating. She's keeping artificial youthfulness, but the changes in her face bone structure are making her look like a different person over time. Naturally we all look like slightly different people as we age though, so it's not her fault.
I have needed plastic surgery twice. Each time my doctors were kind caring and everything you'd want in a doctor. And both times my quailty of life was improved.
I had oily (white) skin my whole life until a few years ago. Now at 64, I am so happy I did because I have aged well. I love being this age and am happy and confident with a face & body that has more than done its job! Am I perfect-absolutely not-but I’m here! 👋
This gives me hope because I am 37 and have oily skin that sometimes drives me nuts, but I’m starting to appreciate that maybe that sheen will help me in the future 😂😂
@@melindasnyder5974 Same boat here. I learned something years ago though. Use cold water to wash your face with. When you take a shower, do a "final rinse", before you get out where the temperatire is not "cold" but it's way cooler than the nice hot shower you were taking. I had MAJOR acne problems. Now, I have almost none. I dab rubbing alcohol on tissue and wipe the oil away if I've been marinating too long. Hot water gives me awful acne. Cool water and I'm acne free.
I'm a year older than Madonna and remember her music and videos very well. Especially her performance at the Grammys performing Like a Virgin. I was never a fan of her music being that I was more into punk music but nonetheless there's no denying she was a trailblazer. It saddens me to see what she's become both physically and mentally. Aging isn't easy especially if you're in the spotlight.
So true. Men in the industry can age and continue doing movies and TV but let a woman start showing her age and most careers are over. Yes, it's still a man's world.
@@darkeststar3640 It's very sad indeed. I would say the best thing to combat this is more women should just essentially give the finger to the industry and continue doing. Shirley Manson from Garbage is doing this, hasn't had plastic surgery and embracing her age while still doing what she loves which is singing for her band.
@@darkeststar3640 I think Judy Dench has done a dazzling job at continuing her acting career into a nice, venerable old age. Old shaming is just stupid. I have a friend in his seventies who is proud of every year he's achieved. I think old people should be proud of their years--they didn't do anything stupid to end their lives.
Being in the spotlight is a pathetic cop out! There are numerous celebrities who are older than Madonna who haven’t gone to a plastic surgeon to butcher themselves! Aging is a part of life. How you live and carry yourself are keys to aging gracefully or aging at a rapid rate. Those who take care of themselves and live right will age with grace. Those who don’t take care of themselves and are for the streets will age at an accelerated rate and end up looking older than they are.
Amazing to see the progression. I never noticed her surgeries until the past few years, when she hit the alien phase -- but in this video, I notice the way she never allowed herself to develop a single wrinkle, a single sag, and how that intolerance added up over time. At 6:59 you see a hint of the beautiful woman she could have aged into. The plastic surgeon saw room for improvement; I saw natural beauty that was then interrupted. Tragic.
You can see she would have had heavy laugh lines ..likely from all the singing. But I always figured her for having a strong enough personality that she would not go the plastic surgery route. I guess all that pressure to look the part is just too heavy. I like to think if I had that sort of wealth I would arrange my recording and performance contracts to end before I felt I was no longer happy with being in the spotlight. Walk away with dignity. But who knows.
Even as far as 2005, she looked ok. But 2006, she def got 'younger'. .. but it still looked age-acceptable. Even up to 2009.. It's after that, that the puffies started.. 2019, she started looking harder. and then just scary. 😢
I would love to see a video on Demi Moore - as of January 2021 her face is unrecognizable. An analysis of WTH happened to her face would be fascinating!
@@zzjustamiragezz Not all that surprising. Every bone in your body loses mass with age. I combat that bone loss with weight training and plenty of vitamin D3 which helps absorb calcium. Don't know if you can do much about your face though.
I'll be 63 this year. I feel blessed to have lived this life. I admired my mother and grandmother. I never once in my life thought of them as old, not even when my grandmother was in her 90's. This trend of women destroying their natural beauty to look for the fountain of youth, does not exist. We grow old and we leave this earth to continue our journey. Women are beautiful at all stages of life. I embrace that and I feel sad for Madonna and all women that believe this lie. She was a beautiful woman and would still be beautiful if she let herself just be her.
Yeah! I admire model Paulina por (sorry I can't spell her last name?) For accepting her aging and not trying to look younger. We are all human? We have had our time? So we have to accept the future, and not try to turn it back. Michael Jackson again for example. Everyone loved him and his talent before his wacky surgeries? But because he didn't like himself? He ruined the good persoñ he was. Very 😢
That’s about the age my mother died .. I just hope I can be around for my daughters daughter (or son) longer than my mom was for my kid .. privilege indeed
I remember when she lost weight before coming out with True Blue. She went from slightly curvy/healthy in 1985, to very thin and muscular in 1986-87. I know that you were saying she lost volume because of aging, but I always thought it was her dramatic weight loss in that time period.
It's surprising how modest her surgeries and procedures were until 2010. It's unfortunate that she decided to not only get more surgery on her face, but on her rear end as well. Her botched BBL/butt lift is the worst thing she could have done.
I'm so glad my favourite singer Annie Lennox ages naturally. She's 68 and still looks wonderful as an older woman. AND she has always been a far better singer than Madonna!
The 2009 photo is the last time you can see the face she was intended to grow into gracefully, and where she should have stopped. Past that point the work highlights her age instead of diminishing it. From 2020 on she looks like a different person and it has to be explained to people who she is.
It was shocking to see the changes in our bones underneath over time, when I always thought the facial changes were due to skin and muscle. Depressing, but nothing lasts forever. I think Madonna started to look strange in 2010, and then became progressively unrecognizable.
I think she has body dysmorphic disorder. She's a beautiful woman before she changed a year ago. I've been a fan of hers since 1986. She'll always be the queen of Pop. She needs to realize she's not young anymore but she'll always have fans that love her. ❤️
It's really sad that Madonna butchered herself like this. She was aging quite well, and with dignity ! Why she felt the need to do this to herself is beyond me. Such an iconic personality, energetic singer and a master of reinvention. Now the vultures want to tear her to pieces because that's what they do. I prefer to remember the 80s Madonna.
She hasn’t aged gracefully, the doctor has just gone over all the procedures that she’s continuously done since her 30s, that is unnatural and is not what you would call “aging gracefully.”
LOL THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL SURGEON.ONLY NIT WITS POST THIS CRAP BC ITS SELFISH & SELF SERVING & HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TEACHING OR COMPASSION FOR PATIENTS IT ONLY SHOWS THIS IS LAST PERSON TO TRUST IF YOU NEED A FACIAL PROCEDURE. PLASTIC SURGERY NOT MY FAVORITE BUT GENERAL SURGERY & vascular not face carving or giving minors breast reductions or augmentation.
I compare this to someone like Joan Baez, who is now 83 years old and looks absolutely amazing. If she has had any work done, I can't see where. But I also compare it to women who simply *are* amazing. Our appearance is not what should be the measure of our value as human beings. Who we are as people should be. It's a great honour to get the chance to grow old. Make the most of it. Don't waste it chasing the youthful appearance we all only have for a few years of a long and full life.
The worst Madonna era is basically NOW since the pandemic. I don't know if this moment in time affected her psychologically or what, but she looks like a mix of an alien & a doll. Also too many filters to add to the mix. To me it's an atrocious decision. She always was so natural AND SMART when it comes to any kind of procedures...I'm just can't understand her.
Agreed! Her bodily implants & treatments, too... She used to cover her arms & hands as they aged; now I think she's had her whole body "filled" to smoothe wrinkles. And the weird breast work, it& now the butt implants. Her cheek implants creep me out; she's got a Bratz doll face. I wonder how well her eyes close to sleep at night. It's so sad.
I also agree. For someone who prided herself on having her own look, this one has gone too far. She now looks like every other over botoxed, over filtered, over filled, and whatever else, freak show.
@@rosezammit3529 Also, she's keeps insisting on the "f* off" attitude like she's 18 years old which I find kinda grotesque. It's not only about her body transformation..she seems lost in somewhere..since many years.
AND you still look like yourself, not a rubber mask!!!
@@hanginlaundry360 🇬🇧🇬🇧🤣😆😁😜
Beautifully said
I’m 62 and when I pull my hair back into a ponytail I see my grandma too. I embrace it.
“The boat springs leaks!”……that made me laugh 😂
You sound really wise. This is excellent advice
I am right there with ya sista🙂 Although some people dislike the expression looking good for your age I'll take it any day of the week! I just don't want to look older than I am and some people do. People think they can turn back the clock by getting plastic surgery but it just keeps on ticking😆
@@mariaw.9963 Well being in the eye of millions you must get self conscious. Must be hard not to be able to be yourself.

And yet it's everybody else around her talking about it. She just does what she wants. Simple! Love it or leave it!

Horror...megnőt a feje hova lett az a szép nő???
She’s not saying people are ageist about her face, shes saying people are ageist because people keep telling her to act her age. They’re always telling her how to be 😂
She’s allowed to look and act how she wants and all you couch potatoes always have something to say.

When I was in highschool, I wanted a nose job. I went to get a consultation and was close to doing it, but I was so afraid of it being botched or my face drastically changing that I decided to work on my confidence and self esteem instead. I think this decision has helped me accept aging as well.

Madonna is a petite Italian woman born with great bone structure, she would’ve aged beautifully without ever having done a thing to her face.
Totally 👍
She would have looked good at any age, any weight as long as it was natural... Now I don't know what to say 🫤
Exactly!!! The Italian genes 💯 would have loved to see her age gracefully (I suppose I ought to take my own advice) but seriously, fuck those fillers
But she didn't i hope she loves herself
Well stated, and now her surgery is irreversible and she’s paying the price for her vanity.
“The neck never lies” The same goes for the hands. It amazes me that people who use plastic surgery on their face to “look younger” it’s always the hands that tell the truth and, they are never addressed.
Sunscreen on them daily.Weekly glycolic acid.
The chest, too
notice madonna always wears gloves now. Caught a look at her hands a few years ago- very ropey, very old looking, mainly because madonna is so thin I think, and has little body fat, makes it worse.
ok thats not fair cause i dont have wrinkles on my face just naturally, but because of bad posture i have the worst lines on my neck 😂😅
Wow. These videos really helps me to see that aging is natural and what celebrities go through just isn’t worth it
Well, they keep their jobs and make more millions, so it‘s probably worth it financially
I grew up in the early years of Madonna.
Definitely a fan. She was beautiful, talented, always pushing the limits. But youth is short-lived and some people want it to last forever. It's a battle everyone loses.

I’m hoping that 57 is actually easier mentally than right now for me at 50.
And she still looked great all those years later. She aged like a fine wine.

Bingo!!!😊

MY opinion.

All three of these women have had work done. 😅

I take good care of my health and am not on any medications. If I could afford more work I would consider a brow lift or even a facelift.

It wasn't until I had health issues and I became a caregiver for my parents that gravity caught up with me, but I still get compliments on my skin and lack of deep wrinkles.

The problem is that, once you start, you can't stop. The pulling of the skin stretches it and, as the aging continues, the skin sags more but now the stretched skin makes the problem even worse and another face-lift is required. It becomes a vicious cycle.

People do what they want but sometime pay a price!!!
Why would that Doc do that to her. Also did he tell her how long It would take to de bloat her face? Her lips scared me.

Amazing to see the progression.
