Best ACD training video I’ve seen. I have a Red Heeler that was a rescue (WHO would give up such an amazing dog?!?) pup at 18 months of age. When I got “Copper” he trusted NO ONE. I learned through trial and error I HAD to be the Alpha. He was a HANDFUL! I can say 10 years later it was worth it and my almost 12 year old rescue Heeler has had the greatest life on a horse ranch going hiking and riding with me all these years. Copper would gladly DIE for me as he has gone after a mountain lion more than once, coyotes and javelinas and has taken ownership of my Ranch. For my money the Queensland Heeler is the BEST breed of dog on this earth. I’ve had Labs, German Shepherds and loved them all but the relationship between a Heeler and his Leader is like NO other. Great video!!!
7 week old blue ACD love the video sir and please keep up the excellent content. My first blue heeler, but not my first dog. I can definitely tell your content is excellent. Really appreciate your breakdown of information and links in the description! You’re a natural teacher.
Hi Jack 😊Thank you so much for sharing!! My husband and I are trying to expose our blue cattle pup Bluey to new places and people and it's working wonderfully. I couldnt agree more how important the leadership and bond is. She is looking up to us all the time and following us everywhere. It's so special. I find she is really driven by toys and loves to play tug a war. I'm realising how much persistence is key! If we didn't try everyday she would probably run a muck and lead the way. I am a little nervous about the potential of her barking and reacting to dogs and people as she gets older, and how to navigate that. I'll have a look and see if you have any videos on that. Thank you again for the video! Hi from Australia xx
Once again, great video. First thing I did with my heeler when she was about 7 weeks-old was to break her from nipping at my shoe laces and sneakers when I walked. (I removed the laces.) This took no more than three days. Complete stoppage of that behavior.
Leon, a Texas Heeler is a month away from entering our lives! He'll be 8 weeks old by then! And boy, be sure that your video just shedded tons of light on this puppy! Thanks man!!
I just made the brave decision to get a cattle dog. This was probably one of the best videos of the like 13 or so I watched so far… I’ve had dogs before.. but I’m going from old 15 year old dog … back to puppy stage.. these videos are a good refresher..
Hey the J & C, good vid, great tips. I have a nine year old red girl Chutney (We follow you two on Instagram). She is my life partner, I always get told she is so chill for a cattle, and I've gotta say it's cause we do all the things you are teaching people. But every now and then I still have to remind her I'm top bitch hehehe. They are so intense but so worth it. Hope Cowboy sore paw, heals up quickly. 🐾 Cheers Madz and Chuts
9 wk Red Heeler, this is number 5 but it's been 30 years since the last one. Spent the break with field Labradors which have been great dogs but have missed my Heelers!
I am getting ready to get healer soon . I have always had well trained dogs but I also want them to herd . Is there any special advice you can give me about choosing a breeder . Or is it just in there nature to herd .
Hey! I love your videos! I've been watching them alot more since getting my 11 week old blue heeler/pit mix puppy. Both me and my boyfriend have been taking her to the park, plat stores, university campus, and still counting however I also wanna know how to crate train her so she's comfortable being alone whrn neither of us xan take her with us. How would you recommend I do that? I'm currently trying to do a good balance of both.

As a 15 year dog trainer and owner of 2 cattle dogs and an abandoned pitbull/lab foster failure. I absolutely love this and am here to show support ❤️
