I've have 4 Heelers since being 16(Now 3X), they train off each other well. I have a new Puppy and my older boy Heeler teaches him a lot. Their favorite toys have always been Raquet balls. They throw them to each other so I dont even have to throw it. Amazing dogs.

I got a 3 year old blue Heeler and my son in Az. has 5 Heelers 3 males 2 females… I need a puppy so bad for my 3 year old Gabby… I know this is what is lacking in both our life’s but every time I go from Ohio to Az. to bring a puppy home something goes wrong! Gabby is getting lazy and fat and needs some puppy love! I started the whole Red Heeler thing about 23 years ago when I was a over the road truck driver OTD and got snowed in in WA. state and was reading the local paper inside the truck stop and there was my first Red Heeler. I had no way to go 80 miles to pick him up and he was the last puppy of the litter but I decide to call anyways… the gentleman who had the Puppys was will to drive the 80 mile one way to bring me the puppy! So once he got to the truck stop it was love at first sight… Dexter who they called Spot melted my heart! He rolled in the snow like a seal on the beach! Dee for short was now a truck dog for 3 months until I got back home to Az. and then he became my sons bday gift! I couldn’t stand leaving him behind when it was time for me to go back on the road! He grew to love my son as much as he did me. Little to my surprise the next 3 months on the road was lonely and hard with out my baby. So on my next trip home I was amazed at how much ch he had come to love my son! Time past and there bond grew but when I would come home that would all change … it was like he was all over me the whole time I home. My son would get jealous of our love and one day he told me mom when you leave he is so unhappy it takes weeks for him to come around to me again but we continue to share him until at about 2 years old I decide to Dale my truck and find a local job so from that point on he was our dog! We all were very happy. Long story I know but about 2 years passed and my son fell in love and decided to start a family with the girl he loved and they moved into a apartment and we live on 3 acres so he decide he would give Dee to me 🙏 I decide to get a female Pepper she was a blue Heeler and a bit older then Dee and that were our family love for the breed really took off … Puppys and then more Puppys at this time my son had a house with a nice yard so of course he got a puppy! Our love for the breed has never died. So yes Gabby is a great granddaughter of Dee who passed away 10 days after I got Gabby! Sadly to say The last two years of his life he started having seizures the day I had to put him down was the worst one of all! It lasted over two hours and at this point I decided it was best not to have him suffer any longer so he got sent to doggy heaven😥 Gabby is a great dog but nothing like her great grandpa😊 she loyal loving and beautiful but not the same! Sorry for my crazy long story but these dogs are amazing ❤️❤️❤️ I just messaged my son and told him … I need a puppy. After watching your video it’s a got yo happen soon thing! So thank you for pushing me to this point💚💚💚

Best dog I ever had in my life and I love my border collie to death but She was ever everything you could want.😊

We brought home our nine week old female Red Heeler pup, Saturday. Had to drive 6 hours in torrential rain down to Medford Oregon and 6 hours back. She was well worth the drive. Stopped at a small pet mart in Grants pass which was awesome. Got some NOW organic kibbles and a few chew toys to get started for our first night. Found one Himalayan cheese stick a fetch it stick and a stuffed Latte hedge hog for her to snuggle with. Took us three days to think of a name and decided on Joy. Don’t we all need more in this season. Took three days to crate train her and still on late night potty training patrol. Thanks so much for schedule, feeding tips and everything else that made this a joyful experience. Keep being amazing!!! Your number 1 fan Chris K

So cute! I love seeing her in her little harness. For training, when we started we did a mix of separate and together (sometimes with 1 trainer, sometimes with 2). As they are older now, we usually each take a dog to train to give them that one on one time for longer sessions where we work on new things. For short sessions, we train them together (mostly cause seeing two cute dogs do things in unison is my favorite). As for long-lasting treats - when they get their adult teeth - we really recommend antlers. Juno loved them so much when she could have them and Onyx adores them.

    • @GrowingUpBlue

I agree, they train off each other. Maxx is 6 months older than Murphy. He took awhile to go in the water. Murphy see him in the water and she pretty much went in. She completely entertains herself and she is a master goat herder. She's a bit too much on the chickens as she zeros in on mostly just one til she gets them back to the barn or wherever she "thinks" they should be.

Hi Fallon! We're from Michigan and we purchased our heelers from Michigan. We had the most luck finding reputable breeders in Facebook heeler groups, but of course there are always scammers online so you have to be cautious. We found reputable breeders in Indiana and Ohio as well (because that was as far as we were willing to travel) but we did end up deciding on one in Michigan! :)

I only gave my dog treats to train him to sit and stay......
9 years old now I've never given him any treats since he was a puppy and he doesn't beg for human food.....
    I don't like a dog that begs.....

Why do your videos always feature more of you than your dogs?
