should have compared it to a 57 or 7B or something as a reference

It sounds incredible. Maybe do a side by side comparison with an SM58 since they're identical in price.? And see how it does on a guitar cab as well.? I think for beginners looking to buy their first mic, that would make an incredible video to see.

Hi, I saw a comparison of 5 mics and this one sounded better than the SM58. I am considering buying this one.

Damn Tanner should come over more frequently, having two opinions in one video is amazing :D

Man, when EV stopped making the N/D767a I was so disappointed (but I still have my one and only available if needed). When I started looking for mics for our band I came across the sE V7. I now have them in our practice room and on the band trailer. The supercardiod pattern along with proper gain staging lead to a super nice signal without much bleeding (very minimal to no gate needed). Nice demo and singing. Have a blast!

Fluff is pumping out the quality content lately at an incredible frequency. Damn.

SShimon - let's hope he continues to do so. His sub count can jump and his views can too if he actually does.

    Got one of these yesterday.
My local shop had a Billy Gibbons edition, was in the market for a Shure SM57 or 58 but glad I bought this mike.
My Behringer 8500 is now a back up.

The Sennheiser e935 blows this away in my opinion. But not really a apples to apples comparison as that mic is 100 bucks more. That being said, for 100 bucks, it's AWESOME!

I'd love to see a comparison between this and some other mic's, and maybe hear what its like on a guitar cab.

Hello. I prefer the SE electronics because it has a little less brightness in the upper mid frequencies so it seems a little more real to me, flatter.

Se Electronics are quite good for their price point! My brother got one of their budget large diaphragm condensers, and it's quite good!

Hey Fluff, Have you tried the v7 on anything other than vocals? if so, how did it perform? on vocals it sounded really good, but wondering if it's a workhorse like a sm57 or sm58

Is it weird that I prefer the test demonstrating BeyerDynamic TG V50d (which was done a week after this one)? A/B'ing the performances, the Beyer seems to have less plosives, and the brightness cuts through and sits on top of the acoustic guitar slightly better, to my ear. The SE seems to be slightly more buried, like an SM58 would be? For stage I think I'd prefer the Beyer.

I'm telling u if u guys put an inline mic preamp on this thing it were be as good or better in most cases to any condenser. Like to see u do a comparidin with n without mic preamp. Dynamite Cloudlifter ect. From the reviews n comparisons I've watched the cloudlifter is a few db's less boost but colors it nicely. Need the cloudlifter n one other to compare against.

I wanted to know how it would do with a cab, maybe compared to the sm57, and if you would have enough time, then maybe blending it with a sm57 friedman style.

  • @PedalingPrince
    @PedalingPrince 6 років тому

Wow. A DYNAMIC mic that can hold its own against a large diaphragm condenser?!
    And only $99.00...?
I'd have to get an interface I could plug this into but once I do I'd LOVE to have at least one of these...

    • @SpectrumAudiophile

PedalingPrince - Behringer makes some rather nice ones for like $39-$99 that will most likely suit your needs

Same here, as a vocalist in a classic rock band playing loud crammed stages I definitely sing closer to my mic than what he showed. Great job but more suited for a studio environment as far as distance fr the mic goes.

@@Versel I bought the V7X, which has proven to be pretty good. I prefer to use it on Snare-Drum and Guitar Amps - it never really suited my screaming style. It might work quite well for some, after all it‘s a dynamic microphone (most of which you can throw almost anything at) ;)
