- Take a look at my indoor succulent grow light setup for the winter. I keep my succulents inside from October until April, and this affordable DIY setup keeps them looking beautiful through the dreary winter months.

very helpful, I’m on a low budget and i need organization tips, this is way better than laps curds irregular lighting i have been using, and guess what? my daughter and grandkids lived in columbia SC, I have been there, the Lion King Market by Right ce Creek Elementary school, jaida my granddaughter went there the people in columbia are so very welcoming so much more pleasant than where i’m from in sacramento calif. Thank you for all your skills
THOSE SUCCULENTS STARTED AS PROPAGATIONS???? THEY'RE PERFECT! Start a growing operation!! hahaha
Now you know why I asked if you wanted any haha and actually I'm super tempted to put up a few succs for sale on my blog because CLEARLY I have way too many
loved your video queen!
Thank you for making this video!
Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for but like you couldn’t find it!!!! Just ordered lights and am looking for a shelving unit!!
YAYYAY!! Keep me updated with your setup :)
How are the lights working? :) thanks in advance!
Abigail I am doing the exact thing you are doing. What is the exact rack name. I want a rack to hold the 72 prop tray. Thank you
Looking to accomplish a similar setup here in TN. Your review and advice was much appreciated! Thanks!
Thank you! I'm actually originally from TN!
I love you videos!!! Thank you so much☺️
What kind of water do you use? Tap water or distilled wirh added nuetients?
I'm about to set up the same sort of thing in my office. Same shelving units -- two of them -- but I'll use Durolux 4x1.5 foot LED grow lights. I mostly grow cactuses, by I also have some succulents. I've been growing a lot of cactuses from seed because by ordering seeds online I can get species that aren't available in local stores. Anyway, I too have been putting my plants outside once it gets warm enough, and until now I've just been putting them on windowsills when I brought them inside, but now I have too many for that.
May i know the colour of yr growlight
Could you use this setup to overwinter annuals like Petunias?
NICE!
Come back to Columbia sometime and I'll give you a succulent or two... clearly I have too many LOL
you know how some lights make a steady buzzing sound. Do these light fixtures do that? I want to buy some but I live in an apartment and want to set up in my bedroom.
No they don't!
Nice video. Sure, High end grow lights are more expensive than the units you have. But there are cheap units, cheaper than the setup you have collected that still provide more than adequate light for their intended suc use. Being a plant person, you really should dig in and learn about the led grow lights available. Just this week, I picked up 2 40w led’s that put out white, blue, red and ir. 2 pack for $30.00 Good luck. Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you so much for the video! It was very informative and definitely helped my own set up. How are you liking this set up (and the lights specifically)? I have my own set up, but after a few weeks of using them, it seems like the colors are fading as opposed to appearing more stressed. I currently have T5 High Output lights, but they're not full spectrum, so I'm not sure if that may be affecting the stress colors. (Along with the other factors that induce stress.) Would love an updated video on your set up/lights, any regrets/changes, or wishlist items for your set up, must haves, etc.! (If you have the time, of course.)
Thank you again for all of your videos! Love your personality and I always look forward to new videos that you put out. :)
Awh thank you :) The fading colors could be due to not having full spectrum lights. I will 100% do an updated grow shelf tour/review because I am still so in love with the setup and actually had to put together a 2nd grow light shelf to accommodate my growing collection lol....
hi.. please make a video how to water them under grow light
I loved this video! So if succulents get bigger these lights should be ok and flower? You have other info so I will watch your others for answers... thank you. Propagations are incredible that you grew!!!
Thank you! I have succs that flower under the lights as well. The lights have been fantastic!
I’m so glad I found your channel I love this video it’s better than any video about grow lights that I have seen in the past year and I’ve binge watched videos for the past year!! Do you just use the lightbulbs that came with the shop lights or did you replace them to different lightbulbs and if you replaced them which kind of lightbulbs did you replace them to? I own spider farmer lights and I spent over $2,000 on all of them and I need more but I do not want to spend more on lights we need to be friends heeeeelp 🤣😂
The LED shop lights come with built-in LED strips so no bulbs needed!
Since this video is a year old, are your plants still happy under the Walmart lights?
Have do you fell about misting plants. Hey good show. I'll follow. Need to learn more..ty gregg
Hello. I need to know if the echeverias stretch out under those lights in the summer.
Thank you! Stay safe.
Hey Miriam! I haven't had any issues with succulents stretching under the lights.
@@abigailgray5554 thank you!!!
Stay safe Abigail😊
F ing great job girl 🙂
thank you!!
Hi how are you ? I total copy your idea. I got the rack and also the lights but I noticed that you have 2 in each space correct? I'm not sure. Pls let me know. Thanks a lot.
Hey Yara! Yes, I have two lights on each shelf.
@@abigailgray5554 thanks a lot. My plants did very well in the winter. Can't wait foe spring to arrive. Have a wonderful day.
How much water do you put in the tray?
About 3/4 of an inch to an inch of water
Thank you for the video! I have my succs on my dresser with cheap clamp grow lights from Amazon. Some are happy but others are so stretched. Plus I need more space! I want a setup just like this. Thank you so much for the links, it's great to know that I may not need specific "grow lights" with big price tags. These lights give the plants everything they would get from the sun?? Do you ever have problems with stretching? Your plants are gorgeous! Thanks!
Yes, these lights have been lifesavers for me and my succulents! They absolutely thrive under them. I occasionally have some succs that stretch if they're on the outermost row of my seed starting trays. I just added a 2nd grow shelf to my plant room because I ran out of space on my first one... oops! But yes, a year later and the succs are just as happy as day 1!
@@abigailgray5554 thank you! 😊
Really nice lighting set up. I don’t want a bunch of trays of succulents in my home. I love succulents for their beauty and their ability to thrive. I do not want something that looks like a succulent growing business.
It seems to be impossible to keep succulents inside without some kind of special lighting set up unless your home was built to have magnificent outdoor lighting. Too bad that most grow lights are made to look industrial.
Nice video but I wish you would’ve showed the whole set up
To THE POINT Please 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Thank you so much for your kind words!!
