I have moved into an apt with only one window so I have been using a grow light for 5 months. They are doing well, no elongation except the flowering stems grow long, I am new at succulents and I am enjoying propagating them and watching them grow. Thanks for the video!
Your colorful plants are gorgeous!!
Thank you!
I love your collection! So many great types and colours.
Your plants are so pretty! Luv all the colors...just absolutely beautiful!
Sally H thank you so much!
That is a superb collection, I need to rewatch the video.
Thank you!
This collection is spectacular! Way to go!
Such a beautiful collection you have 😍
Thank you!! 😊
Your plants look very healthy under your lights. I use grow lights also. And a great collection of nice pots!
Thank you so much! What types of plants do you grow under your lights?
Love the colours!
Thank you!
They're really wonderfully colored and healthy!
Thanks so much!
These are gorgeous! I’m in zone 6b also
Nice collection. I'm all about the quarantine too. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks ! :)
Lol i read this now and had to think 'was there a quarantine 3 years ago?' 😂
thats a pretty cute collection! A tip would be to actually use a mister for your leaf cuttings because having so much water as you have on top of them will sometimes make them rot. :)
Thanks for the tip!
WOW😲 💖🖒
SO Beautiful Succulents Thanks 아름답네요 물이
불타오르네요 🤗😍😘
Thank you!
Your succulents are looking just beautiful! You must be giving them all the right attention 👍🏼 I just bought some T8 led strip lights and I’m hoping they do well. I read somewhere online that succulents do better under lights that are in the 6000k spectrum, so here’s hoping 🤞
Beautiful succulents 😍
i love growing the succulent very much, and like your video, god job~!!
Thank you!
nice video! keep on growing!
Love this! So many beautiful plants in one video! ❤️ I’m looking into buying a plant light tomorrow since pretty much every plant in my home is dying right now. Hope that they won’t and they eventually will thrive as much as yours!
That's exciting! What types of plants are you trying to grow?
Only a few that’s though because the haven’t died yet lol. But succulent, and English Ivy, an orchid, a few aloe Vera plants, zamioculcas and a few more small ones
Oh nice! Well I hope the grow lights help! :)
Nice! I’m in zone 6 too!
2020 WHOLE WORLD IS IN QUARANTINE !!!
You have such a lovely collection! The living stone is fascinating! How often do you water your cuttings and do you use a spray bottle?
Nice overwintering job.
Very nice collection and set up and video 🤙🏽
Julie, I grow succulents and cacti. After I got one plant I couldn't stop so my collection grew to where I had to have lights. I don't have windows that are placed right to light them naturally.
That's what happened when I started collecting succulents..the collection just kept growing!
how many watts on the T5's?
And do you use 6500K and also 2100K?
I just got some Beautiful Succulents Yesterday!!
Great Set up and thanks for the Video!
I notice you have a T5 fixture, and I’ve also just discovered that Hortilux just came out with new speciality T5 bulbs that can be mixed in with the other regular tubes already in the fixture. They have UV, blue( two types) , red ( two types)
Where did you get your succulents?? They are so pretty and some had really unique colors
Nicely explained awesome presentation 😊👍💞
Thanks so much!! :)
I subscribed to your channel as soon as I saw the thumbnail!!
TFS ❤️ from Korea
Aw thank you!!
Great setup! Can you tell me where you got your grow lights? I think I have the same shelves.
I'd like to know that too
Do you plant all of the non-cacti in the same soil? I see that you have a gritty mix with some of them and not others. When do you decide to use the gritty mix with your non-cacti succulents? Do certain types get the gritty mix?
I can't believe how colorful your succulents are! Were they so colorful prior to using the grow lights? I live in Indiana and I started bringing some inside. They are not getting enough light and looking sad. I was researching grow lights and stumbled across your videos. I'm buying a grow light asap! Beautiful job! I love your lithops, too. They are on my succulent wish list!
Hey! Yeah many of them were bright colors since most of the time I ordered them from California so they got plenty of sunlight there, which affects the color. Also grow lights are a good idea if you want the succulents to stay compact and maintain their vibrant color while growing them inside. Just keep in mind the cost of powering grow lights. I unfortunately gave mine away since the cost of running my lights was more than I wanted to spend each month.
Lindas lindas 😍😍💓😘
Very beautiful, I loved, Iam frin Brasil, i liked of the sucullents.
Thanks Andrea! :)
That is a beautiful collection of plants. I am a zone 1, I live in west central Saskatchewan province of Canada. 25 miles north of us is the end of the farming and it turns into forest. I have been growing succulents for about 4 years but this is the first year I have invested in grow lights. I have tried overwintering them inside with varying degrees of success but I think I am finally catching on. Many of my succulents summer on the deck out side but we have to watch for frost until abt June 1 and have to watch again by mid Aug so that makes for a lot of carrying in and out. I do not have a you tube channel but do nature photography that you may like and plan to put my current succulent collection on there as well. I have photographed 20 of the 25 orchids that are native to our province, and much bird and animal wildlife. My facebook is Brenda Meier Rutz, you may have to add Meadow Lake, Sask to the search. I am going to watch your videos on succulents tonight. I am sure I will enjoy them, thanks so much for all your work making them.
Thats awesome Brenda! I am also a Canadian, I was born in Ontario but now I live in the US. I don't have this grow light set up anymore, I didn't want to pay for a large electric bill. But I'm glad you enjoyed the videos :)
Brenda Rutz I hope you can make videos about succulent care on UA-cam, I live in Regina SK, I believe I am in zone 2b, the long winter is really a big challenge for me, hope I can learn somethings from your experience.

Where do you get your succulents? So pretty! I want some of those pink gradient ones you have on the right side.
I bought them from many sources: Altmans plants, etsy, Fairy Blooms
Could you please share links or information about those grow lights! Thank you
ive recently got a couple cacti and succulents and im pretty begginer level at this still lol. I went and got one of those 4 packs of grow lights that just look like regular light bulbs and i was wondering if you have any tips on how i can set those up so the plants will still get enough light?
megan hasley hmm well I'm not familiar with bulbs that look like regular bulbs. The ones I use are long and tube shaped, full spectrum fluorescent bulbs. You can see in my video the bulbs hang from directly above. But I think you can purchase grow lights that do fit the regular bulb shape. And you can usually clamp them onto a shelf and point them at your plants. Hope this helps! If not, i would look into buying a T5 grow light similar to what I featured in my video. :)
Idk if anyone has answered you yet lol, but the one that was a tad wrinkly is a Lapidaria, which is different from the genus Lithops.
thanks!
Would this be suitable for the UK? I don’t think my baby succulents that I propagated earlier this year will survive a Scottish Winter 😢 They’re already looking pretty sad. Thank you so much in advance!
Do you have the names of some if not all of these? As well as where to purchase? I definitely need to purchase some of these
Regarding your propagation, do you water them even though there's no roots visible?
Yes I do. Watering them helps promote root growth.
the colours of your plants are beautiful!
Thank you!
Hi, you forgot to mention what grow lights are you using on this video. Please share
I love in Kansas so a zone 6 as well...I just started collecting and mine was all grouped in a south facing window. Some do good some are really unhappy it's been so cloudy so I bout some grow lights. I hope it helps.
The lights should help! I used mine for months and the succulents seemed to thrive. :)
I know you've got rid of your grow lights now because of the cost per month. Have you considered switching to led? A 50w (26w true power) grow light would only cost you a dollar a month or thereabouts depending on your electricity supplier cost per kWh. Just a thought
hmmm at the moment I am fine without the lights. All of my plants seem fine with the natural sunlight :)
Their beutifull
I wish u were my friend and i could get these beautiful plants free of cost ofcourse for me.
Keep it up 👍🏻
Where do you get your plants
What grow light are you using?
How many hours a day for LED Grow Lights, Full Spectrum LED table desktop light for indoor succulents? And how often should I water?
KimberlyElizabeth 83 I was looking for an answer to this as well. Did you find out anything?
KimberlyElizabeth 83 hi! I’m using growlights for my indoor succulents too! So far I have great results and my propagation is super awesome. I turn on the grow lights for 6 hours a day.
@@avr5234 how many watts?
What grow lights do you use? I need to get some myself.
I think its best if you google what is out there, there are all different kinds of size and strength. I would advice you to rather buy from grow light shops than amazon or such if you want a high quality one and then google reviews. Maybe you even get into the depth of light spectrum and stuff but I think its not necesary xP
Hi!may i know what types of spray that you use to kill the bugs etc?
Hello! I use neem oil, insecticidal soap
@@julienicole92 have you ever noticed that this uhm (fatty..?) layer on the echeveria leafs vanishes if you use soapy bug spray on them? I have had it now and I am not certain about it x:
at 3:20 the succulent back right what is that I just bought one but cant ID it
Hi,where did you bought your grow light?
I bought it from a local grow light store in my area, HGT supply
my grow light was too close to my succulents not it burnt the leaves
Should I use a certain colour light
ung ygunung yeah. Try 6500Kelvin and 2100Kelvin bulds
I noticed some of your succulents are potted in normal soil, is that for a special reason? Or you're yet to report in a gritty mix?
Arabian Curlies I noticed that some succulents didn't thrive in the gritty mix. I ended up switching many of my succulents back to regular cactus soil. However, most of my cactus did fine in the gritty mix. It just depends on the specific plant. For example, some of my succulents always looked wrinkly and not as plump in the gritty mix, and then when I switched to cactus soil they absorbed the water better and became plump again. I hope this helps!
I'm planning on doing this did you have a follow up video on 3 months of being under a grow light. I'm wondering if they etiolated?
So mine were under my grow light all winter and no etiolation happened. As long as you have the correct bulbs and distance away from the plants you should be good to go.
Julie Nicole Thank you for the reply. I live Los Angeles plenty of sun year round. I just recently bought a Echeveria Afterglow and I'm using a full spectrum bulb. I don't get enough sun light in my bedroom so this is the next step in order for me to have some of these beauties in my house without them growing funky. Thanks again. I love your collection and your video. Keep up the good work.
Ahhh you should put them outside then if possible!! Cali is the best place to grow succulents so jealous :D
Julie Nicole Yeah I've run out of room 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 I live in a condo so any place outdoors that I could of put them I have 😂😂😂😂. So yeah indoors in the next spot. Until I buy a home and then I think thing's will get out of hand 🤪with these little beauties.
Oh I see! So yes the grow light is your next best option :)
I'm trying to plant a haworthia under grow light but mine light is blue+red colour xP , I hope the result will be good
I hope so! I used this information when buying my grow light for succulents:
What type of light: Fluorescent - CFLs or T5/T8 bulbs
What color of light: “Daylight” spectrum - preferably a color temp of 6500K
How far away should the light be: 6-12″ (only if using fluorescent)
How many lights: depends on the number of plants…
Where did you buy your grow light?
A local grow light store in Massachusetts :)
Where did you buy those light set ups?
thanks!
Can you show your whole shelf?
Full watch
To the OP or anyone who can help 😆What's the watts with the light setup ? I'm using 45w full spectrum LED. Just started growing a cactus. I have the lights set at 20" from top of cactus, cactus is an inch 1/2-2" real young. Online gives me varying heights with no watts for the lights.
Can you put plant names in description area?
💪🙌👍
My Suuculents were shedding leaf brutally, suddenly after i changed their light cycle from
12hrs-12hrs to 24hrs-24hrs..was that...because of light deficiency?.
Vusiuz does that mean that when it was 24-24 you had the lights on 24 hours a day? In that case they light is on for too long, your succulents need a break with the light turned off. I only leave my light on for 12 hours a day and off for 12.
I'm away from my home for already 4 days, i set them from 8am to 9pm
i hope they still looks well when i go back home next day
Where do you buy most of your succulents ??
I buy most of them from: fairyblooms.com
Thanks
Can you link the lights you use
I bought them from a local store and it was their store brand :( They were T5 Full Spectrum lights if that helps
How many watts are your lamps?
I used this site as a reference: www.succulentsandsunshine.com/choosing-the-right-grow-light-do-you-need-a-grow-light/
“Daylight” spectrum - preferably a color temp of 6500K
I think your crassula in the quarantine section is stressed. I read somewhere that they turn purple when they are too warm/get too much sun or light I belive
Oh okay thanks for letting me know!
Any updates? Still working for you
How much watt use?? And how many lamp???
Afiq Othman I'm not sure how many watts but it was a T5 grow light and 4 bulbs per lamp. It was a four foot by two foot lamp
Julie Nicole thanks!!!!😁😁😁😊😊😊
When you said quarantine section I thought “me too”. Cause I thought you meant all the plants bought during quarantine
I am Kerry Kimmel lol
Boa noite
How many hours a day?
12 hours on, 12 hours off :)
Im so confuse about lighting and the heat...succulent needs more light than heat?cuz i believe the LED has lower heat than ordinary light bulb
Yep so they def need high light, since they are used to a lot of sun in their natural habitat. When it comes to heat they just need it above freezing temps. If they freeze they swell up and explode. But you def don't need really high heat to keep them happy. I kept them in my house under the grow light and they did great
Thank you
But you don't say what grow light you're using.
2.37 Is a Lapidaria
thanks!
Pretty dope man. I have a grow scrogged out now. Check out my very first vid i just uploaded and let me know what you think
nice video! keep on growing!
Thanks for watching !
