      Thank you! I am definitely still learning and something really interesting happened with the plants the very first day but I’m not going to post any of the updates for three weeks. I really can’t wait to see which one does the best though

    I just found your channel and I’m loving it!! I’m excited for this experiment🤗 summer where I live is brutal, the temps get up into the mid 120s, so my succulents live indoors. I have a cute little grow light set up that’s worked well for the last 3 years so I haven’t looked into any other lights, so I’m excited to see how this goes!😁

      Holy moly that's hot! I used to live in AZ so I know a bit about how brutal those high temps can be 🥵

      Wow that’s super hot! I thought it was hot here in the summer. Where do you live? I would bring my plants inside also if the temps got that high. What kind of lights do you use now? Thanks for watching!

      @@SweetSweetSucculents I’m in El Centro in Southern California! About 2 hours east of San Diego, we’re an agricultural community. I tthhiiink the light I have now is just a 2 row T5 maybe?? I ordered it off Amazon right before my first summer with succulents! I got pretty lucky, it was the first light I ordered and it’s worked great! My plants are in a south facing window and don’t quite get enough sunlight, this keeps their color beautiful and they’ve never stretched out!

    Oh I can’t wait to see the results. I’ve got to get grow lights now. My plants are desperate I just can’t seem to find the right shelves for the right lights. I want the to fit. Oh gosh I’m struggling trying to figure out how to do this.

      Well I actually planned on making a video three weeks from that one however some interesting things have developed so I may be putting one out this week. I can tell you that all three lights will work but I’m going to have to experiment with how close or how far the plants are. You will see in the next video

    my problem with my grow lights is i feel like the plants that are off to the side just dont get enouigh light. i have a steel shelving unit, 6 shelves, and i have large breed dog crate bottom mats on the shelves so i get an extra 5 inches on either side but it doesnt matter bcuz they dont get enough light. i have 4, 4foot LED tubes on each shelf. and my top shelf is a 4 foot pink full spectrum, just one tube i use for propagating and THAT works like a charm for propagating. but anyway i have to cram everything directly under the lights it seems....... im curious to see how this experiment works out.

      Well I am too, I haven’t really grown things indoors before so it’s new to me as well. I am going to update every 3 weeks for 6 videos, or at least that’s the plan

    I am no expert but I have an old style grow light, High pressure sodium, 150 watts, 15000 lumens. 15000! I used it in the past for seedlings, so this is the first time for succulents. Here in Ohio where the sun never shines almost between November and April, a grow light is a must.
    I saw your video where you mentioned chicken grit, so today I went to TSC (like you said) and bought 25 lb s for about 9 bucks. I have to use it as a substitute for pumice which is impossible to get for some reason. Thanks for the good advice, and I'll use chicken grid generously in my cactus blend until I can get pumice. Thanks

    • @SweetSweetSucculents
      @SweetSweetSucculents  3 роки тому

      Omg 15,000 lumens is wonderful!!! And yes pumice is hard to get here, or at least way overpriced. I’ve found the sunlight is much less intense this winter than any other so far here in Arkansas. Unfortunately I only have grow lights for this experiment, and my 100s if not 1000s of plants in the greenhouse will just have to deal with it!
