Darkvision does have an effect in exploration, fully dark rooms will have a cone of “light” that they can see in Somebody without darkvision will just be in the dark
That's how it works in 5e, but is that how it works in this? I guess we'd need to test it. Have two characters with the same stats (or at least guarantee they have the same hit chance), put them at the same range against the same target, one with dark vision and one without.
@@Gar1onTabletop I do see a difference in brightness of areas when I use a character without darkvision, IF there are no light sources. Most of the game is pretty well lit, though, so it's only a few places.

Attacking an obscured target gives disadvantage (if I remember right), which means that darkvision or light is quite important. 🙂
