Great build. Really like the acid theme with your item selection. Also, Bear Barbarians have Advantage on all Strength skill checks, which means all their push attacks are done with Advantage!
I'm pretty sure that's all barbarians whenever they rage, not just bear barbarians. At least it is in tabletop.
I have completed around 8 Runs & over 1100 hours so far and NEVER knew there was even a CAVE with Boots in Act3 Pre-Lower City Docks area... WTH

That acid pit with the cloak can also be accessed via a cave past the undead fish guys near the temple of Shar!
No ring of regeneration? I guess its not a bad idea to dial back the health for some dps. Just knowing that you could get a garunteed 4hp every turn is wild from the ring. If you keep the flail and have the regen ring, thats at least 10hp per turn.
the ring is 1d4 iirc, so its not a guaranteed 4hp per turn
unless you use that amulet act 1 amulet that maximizes all healing received

@@TheRealWalt They do indeed stack, whenever I play with a Cleric in the party, I always have them spend one of the highest/second highest slots on Aid since it's so much HP all around

feel like some people are forgetting that this is a showcase video for a build and not a let's play, so some action or gold cheats are of course expected to skip some stuff.
Armour of agathys abjuration wizard literally just standing still while orin kills herself on him and occasionally casting ray of frost to reapply chilled
My cleric , that was tanking on ze camp during honour mode , had 189 hp , minsc had 169 hp , with half dmg from electricity , ansur was able to kill the cleric and leave minsc with 10 hp with the legendary action😂 ( it's a cheesy tactic but hey first time honour mode ) sape happened with raphael , he was able to actualy downed minsc , so probabily raphael can del the most dmg in one turn
Gonna be honest in me and my brothers honour mode run, ansur wrecked and almost did a TPK, meanwhile raphael was beaten up real fast. We went for summons, ended up the game with 30+ zombies at end lol. (i was a spore druid, kept popping long rest potions and carried around rats to make overall as many zombies as possible lol, my brother just asked "What are those 40 rats for??? can't you just drop it? No... you will see!) lmao.
@@thebuffman5597 Also, in case you want to know how to very easily deal with both Ansur and Raphael, the combo of Globe of invoulnerabillity + Markoheshkir + spellcrux amulet completely breaks them both. Raphael's minions will at least try to use the globe and will require knockback potential to deal with, but Ansur will just sit there and do nothing as he's taken apart.

Ahhh Lineage II, good times. Always liked games that have unusual builds. I remember making an Orc Destroyer that used +16 bow, kept my health low for the extra damage, had alt account that had blade dancer for crit buff and i killed a lot of gankers/pk'ers outside towns. They never expected to get one shot from my bow :D Also discovered good way to farm exp for alt accounts. We made Orc monks with a friend and both used polearms to hit multiple enemies, then we just pulled all the mobs from a dungeon and killed them in one huge pile.

64hp 27ac shadowheart was in my tactician run. The hp scared me but she was usually the last to ever go down as life domain cleric
tempest is better, even more proficiencies gained and she can actually be useful with call lightning and divinity charges
"Stallion" + 2d rogue level helped me out to beat Ketheric almost every time... except when he double spawned once. Most of failed "honour" runs where thrown because that broken swine
Another idea is to wear heavy armor (with proficiency), which will disable some of your rage benefits, but you still get the resistances from bear. Then you also Heavy Armor Master to reduce all incoming damage by 3. With the Admantine Splint Armor, which reduces all damage by two by itself, any damage instance needs to be at least 11 to even have the chance to scratch you (or 13, with Helldusk).
Also, with your version, you don't get much from Fighter, to be honest, other than maybe the three maneuvers. So you could, instead, put those levels towards Rogue -> Thief, so that you can dash each turn with a bonus action, refreshing your stallion temp hp each turn, while still having the Bonespike Boots. Thief also has the benfit of you going to rage and still have a bonus action for the first turn.

@@TheSpudKing Oh damn, guess my game is bugged, then, seeing as my Minthara wearing Heavy Splint is raging every other battle? You can rage in heavy. You just lose the extra damage, I think the default resistances to physical damage (but you get it back from Bear Heart) and the advantage on Strength checks. So yeah, it's usually not advised to rage with heavy, but it is possible.

@@SyckestBlah Don't worry he's wrong, you CAN rage in heavy armor except you don't have the damage augmentation and physical damage reduction, for the rest, you have the benefits
Great build! I think a Gold Dwarf Abjuration Wizzard / Barbarian has more potential to tank if you only play abjuration spells and have 3 or 4 as cantrips and get bonus actions. You would get the exact same hp bu you will also block magic spells
I think your barbarian tank is good and can beat the game on honour mode, but the best tank is:
1. Light cleric6/bard6: 40 ac, -50% dmg taken for whole party, can share damage taken from teammates, heals, reaction to disadvantage enemies if they crit you, summons, spirit guardians for aoe damage...
2. Entire party with warlock2 with devils sight so enemies cant use any ranged abilities on you and melee abilities have disadvantage. (when inside darkness spell)
3. Abjuration wizard with upcasted armor of agathys can run around and let most of the monsters kill themselves. Mostly a solo build though as the monsters can ignore you.
4. This build, maybe.
you have any more detailed references for those builds? I have tried a few cleric builds as main and just not feeling it

It is absolutely worth noting that if you don't hit a target with the Shattered Flail, you'll risk having to pass a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or risk becoming Mad for 2 turns.

I feel like 4 levels in rogue would actually make a tankier build? You can go Thief allowing you to bonus action dash for temp health which is better then the fighter Second Wind, you can reckless attack for advantage on your offhand finesse weapon for sneak attack which would slowly add up more damage then action surge attacks. If your gonna wear the Bonespike Helmet then you definitely dont need to go fighter battlemaster as the helmet gives you unlimited uses of the Manoeuvre. Yes you get less health as a Rogue but since its only 4 levels your only losing about 4hp but gain the easiest temp health regen in the game :)
Temp health is not a problem, manoeuvres is op here actually:) so we can control alot, but swapping with rogue will work

End of the day your already incredibly tanky so it doesnt really matter that much haha. And this is without Illithid powers like Perilous Stakes or Absord intellect for more health regen or shield of thralls for more temp health. Very scary builds, love the content keep it up.
Barb Rogue is a thing in DnD, though you need 5 levels in Rogue to get the Uncanny Dodge
You can get a ring that gives you bless whenever you heal yourself, an amulet that gives you additional poison dmg when healing yourself, and an item i forgot which that heals you whenever you heal someone, not sure if it works when healing yourself, going full self-healing sounds kinda fun
My favourite way of building a bear barbarian is with the skin burster halberd from the creche in act 1.
Hit stuff, get damage reduction stacks, hit stuff, get more stacks, repeat.
Oh whats that? Your special ability just hit me for a 50 damage?

Its a severely underrated weapon and its way more powerful than people might think.
There is a ring of movement also sold by the same dwarf lady in myconid colony who also sells the acid ring and its perfect for any shorties who are missing that 3.0m of movement
I think this is the build the chaotic good barbarian uses
Taking a hit from "my blade" and doing so much return damage that it breaks the blade
Then making a million attacks to gain all his HP back

I did a similar build. Use the defender flail in act 1 to reduce most melee damage. Even more tanky goodness early game.

Unfortunately the draco sorcerer bonus only applies to sorcerer levels
Got me through most of an honor run but after poor decisions on my end the run failed. I found using the blood of lathander mace to be a bit more effective in the off hand as if for some reason you do go down you will be healed back to 12 plus enemies will always be illuminated

There's a mod for extra encounters but I don't think it's really all that difficult, still worth considering.

I usually build a war cleric/ thief in a 8/4 config. I usually use one asi for wisdom (20 stat total with hags hair) , druid initiate for extra cantrips (thorn whip and shillelagh), and pole arm master. Here is the thing, you are basically going to be able to attack 4 times in a single turn with bonus action warpriest attack, bonus action polearm master attack, and a main action attack and then spiritual weapon. You use just regular quaterstaffs for the first two acts, then in act 3 you use dancing breeze which then enables sneak attacks from rogue levels. Then in act 3 you swap out magic initiate for great weapon master and just wear dex gloves.
Its a simple build thats effective and doesn't require classing into several different classes to achieve a single meme thing. Solo viable too!
You only get 3 Warpriest charges per long rest so thats 3 bonus actions whereas an action surge regens on short rest (So 3) but gives you an extra action which effectively gives you 2 attacks if you have the Extra attack skill. Thief gives you access to 2 bonus actions but you listed 3; warpriest, polearm and spiritual weapon. So I'm guessing you use warpriest 3 times then use polearm bonus action until you can long rest? Issue with that is your only dealing 1d4 damage and while the Dancing Breeze special attack is AWESOME, you would probably see more damage output if you pick the Dual Wielder feat instead of Pole arm then use the finesse weapon Phalar Aluve for bonus damage and can offhand attack with a rapier for example.
Pole arm master is a feat that you ideally want to combine with the Sentinel feat which is a very scary combo :)
@@phatdog buddy, you forgot that warpriest charges increase... and by act 3 you get great weapon master that lets you make a bonus action attack...
@@jakeparkinson8929 5 warpriest charges is still less then 6 action surge attacks but obviously you can use all warpriest charges in 1 combat so they are better for those who prefer long rests over short rests :)
Great weapon Master bonus action only procs with kills or crits. This isnt a crit build and the bonus action only works if you have some remaining and are able to move to another target. So of your 4 potential bonus actions you can only use 2.
Basically I'm assuming you use Cloud giant for 27str so attacking with Dancing Breeze 1d10+2+8 plus either another with warpriest or 1d4+8 via polearm master for a total of 20-40 damage before adding any other modifiers like sneak atk or gear.
Whereas the Duel wield combo I listed with Phalar Aluve is 1d8+1+8+1d4 with any other 1 handed weapon from daggers to rapiers with special effects too for example we'll just use the easy to get Charge-bound warhammer which is 1d8+1+8+1d6+(1d4 from phalar again) for an average of 23-48 not only that but the Phalar Aluve 1d4 gets applied to any other additional attacks like Spiritual weapon or allied attacks.
We could also use other legendary weapons like Duellist's Prerogative or Nyrulna for even more damage or special attacks. Or for clerics we could use the Harper Sacredstriker quarterstaff to have access to a tier 6 Spiritual Weapon which your cleric cant cast at level 8 for even more damage from that potential bonus action source :)

BTW you have to use reckless attack before your normal weapon swing.

Daaaamn, this is basically what i have karlach speced at but without using the health regen aspect... and the caustic stuff... didnt even think to use the amulet with life steal items
in early mid kagha's necklace is super strong since you can have both of your weapons with minor toxin for free every time you heal

And of course did the enemy not once use hold person on you, made you fearfull/frightended or use anything else.

Sweep attack with the fighter gives you sweeping attack that make you hit more enemies with the flail, healing you for 6 for each enemy you hit!

Gnols is strong, try to be at least level 4, and always convince Flind to be on your side, then run away for a turn, so she is engaged and not you :)

This makes me want to try playing one more time. First two runs I did a cleric, then a bow bard, because I love range, but I realized that all the non-annoying companions are spell casters so I have the most glass squad and shadowbeart makes a terrible tank

I love the use of that necklace that fully heals you and there's so much health, when I think of tankiest character I think of like a light cleric/swords bard with all the AC items, but this character you've made is the other side of that spectrum he's just going to be able to take every hit there is.
as a tank, dealing damage is secondary. in other games, just enough to keep agro. unfortunately that doesn't workmin bg3.
that said, some ideas: adamantine heavy armor and shield, it adds reeeling to enemies and preve ts crits. usually that's the biggest danger. You can add the amulet that gets you back up (forgot the name, around the creshe area shop). alao you can choose halforc, who gets back up. also creshe area, the special mace, which heals you.
currently using something like this on a storm cleric, who keeps adding reverberation and reeling. its lots of fun.
Yoo the interaction with the amulet and items is new to me nice finding. But tbh this build is extremely weak to debuff specially hold person and there is plenty on the game. Heroic potion and the ring that bless you when you heal could solve that also a better distribution of stats to put in to wisdom.
The best tank in this game is a fighter with 30+ AC and acloak from act 3 that gives enemies disadvantage on attacks against you. And this build should be played solo with a buffer at camp for that lvl 1 spell that gives 2 extra AC.
Looks like a super fun build. My only question is why you didn't start with fighter to get the two weapon fighting early as well as the proficiencies. Would that make a difference?
We don't beed two weapons early, and its better to get barbarian benefits earlier to get powerspikes from level 3 + feat at level 4 and so on
two weapon fighting is not dual wielder, it doesn't allow you to dual wield non-light weapons

Bearbarians keep their resistances while raging even if you have heavy armor I think. I've always wanted to use this for a build, but never figured out a good one :)
PSA you actually take even less damage, with double resistance you take a quarter damage

Isnt Multiclass With Rogue amazing aswell ? Since the rogue passiv gives u 50% DMG reduction lvl 5
Uncanny dodge is probably not worth the levels. It is a reaction, so it is limited to once per turn for most of the game.

for reckless attack i prefer to use it as a reaction since if you hit without it then at least ennemies won't have abnadvantage to hit you

Actually you should've gone for DEX for max AC too, imagine a barbarian with 80hp + 16 AC at just level 3 lol.
The reason he didn’t is because if you have too high AC, the enemies won’t target you. It’s fine if you are doing a run with no allies, because then you are the only thing that can be targeted. But if you have a full party, not getting targeted means your HP means nothing.
I had an idea for a similiar build, but instead of going high constitution, it would be about Agility armor to get around 25 AC which kinda gives you a really big chance to dodge attacks already while also having ring of regen, sword of chaos and bear barbarian 7/Fiend warlock 5 with counterspell and Mirror image as important Warlock spells. I don't like the build in this video but it's still pretty cool lol
I mean this works too, but my tank build with 189 hp and 36 AC basically solo'ed the encounter with Viconia and her adds, the other 3 characters died on round 2, then it just solo'ed the rest of the fight without ever being hit, so high AC has its advantages when done right...

Tiger Heart with the shattered flail and periapt of wound closure can heal 36 HP in a single turn.
Yeah, but you need to look for groups, if enemies spread its same heal, but without resistance to everything (ofc you can warding bond on tiger and he will be op, but this one is self sufficient)
You should make a busted life cleric to make the barb tankier

I recently did a playthrough revolving around that mace and amulet. However I made a tanky eldritch knight. The only thing I would change about how I played is having less ac and some lvls into Barb for Bear. Still was fun especially with any of the items that grant not being able to be crit. The AC did come in handy for Raphael funny enough who when I was in his face would only try to melee me instead of nuking me

I love how this works just as well as in dnd, but generally speaking, everyone in the party should have very high AC, not because they should be “tanks”, but simply because having low AC means you are the party’s weak point. Unless you have a good reason to get hit (like armor of agathys) then it’s a good idea to get high AC, regardless of class and party role.

Missed a few items for more health restore, ring if regeneration, buldarian helm, and if you were looking to maximize hp then amulet of greater health, I'm going to try a build like that and see if I can just outheal everything lol
Ring of regen would get more heals but he's so tanky already, he instead opted for the caustic ring and glow ring for more damage. Helm of Balduran is medium armor which will cancel out the Barbarians Unarmoured Defence sadly reducing your AC. The Amulet of Health will give you more health and an extra AC for Barbarians but it means you risk losing potential health regen every turn as Periapt of Wound Closure amulet gives max health regen. If you really wanted more health regen you can use the Illithid power Perilous Stakes or simply go Rogue instead of fighter so you can bonus action dash every turn giving yourself 16 temp health plus you use can reckless attack to proc sneak attack damage with finesse weapons :)
@phatdog oh no I won't deny he perfected this build I'm saying I'm going to fuck around with the stated items and see if I can't get one that will max regen all incoming damage without even attacking! The hard part is yeah the amulet will put you over 200 health easy but maybe having the helm with the ring can offset that and obviously yeah you'd have to pick a class that can just wear heavy armor for more ac, but I swear to go there are infinite ways to enjoy the game and I can't tell you how many times I restart now just coming up with new crazy builds, this game will definitely last a while even without dlc XD

Really cool build I thought about something similar after my first play through when I found the flail from the knolls and Khagas dropped necklace but sad to report healing from a weapon attack will not proc the bonus 1d6 poison damage. This was very sad as in act two one of the thormms (the doctor one) has a cape and ring that would have synergy with the set up

I followed this build to the tune, except for the fact that I did it on Karlach instead of an avatar. However, I am still confused because at 3:07 you say "at Level 4" and don't get Dual Wielder. But at 3:40 you're leveling up again and do take Dual Wielder. Could you please clarify that? :D Even better if you wrote down a list like: 1 B, 2 B, 3, B, 4 F so I know at level 4 you chose Fighter.

I was wondering if you tried Theif Rogue with this build, 4 Levels of thief Rouge you get two bonus action and cunning action dash. I tested this and The cunning action dash does work w/Aspect of the Beast: Stalion. You can essentially gain 16 Temp hp every round you lose Temp HP.
what about the ring of greater health found in house of hope in act 3? you could do the same build until the house of hope, and then respecc into other stats like strength to do more damage, it sets your con to 23 so you could spend more feats on damage as well

I still feel like the Force Conduit tank build is better than this, because with enough damage negation, the stacks of Force Conduit never go away because you never take any damage. Though, this build does have lower AC, so it has that over it. Good video.
