Specifically with superhero stuff I like being able to make at least a main character. Midnight Suns was pretty minimal but I still liked having some options
Yup I have definitely heard that feedback. Hopefully the developer is able to do a sequel providing that option.
@@SlanderedGaming - don’t get me wrong, Capes is a good game. It has its flaws but my favorite game genre is tactical strategy and I’m a big fan of super hero stuff. I do think something in the same vein with at least a customizable main character would be that much better
@@mtknight5141 I wish midnight suns allowed us to have 4 heroes , 1 your custom hunter + 3 other heroes , such a waste the devs didn’t do this , could’ve had mad synergy with some hero combinations
I’ll likely go ahead and buy this game but I do agree with the majority that they really should’ve given a custom hero option along with the main team presented. This game does have lots of potential and hope they can correct the issues with dlc and hopefully a sequel.
Yup definitely looking forward to a sequel where I can hopefully create my own character!
10:18 Rebound's Shadow Blast says it disarms ALL enemies within a three-square line, so it can affect multiple targets at once.
Oh you know what actually that's a good call out. I never used it that way because it's rare that it makes sense but yes it has that capability.

Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Nope this and the review are the only videos I really put out about Capes. For stealth missions I recommend running with a DPS heavy squad who can takeout enemies quickly like Rebound, Mindfire, and Mercurial.

What does the initiative power do?
I feel like at the very least they could have given us character customisation. Like give each of these heroes like 10 outfits. Completely different outfits, not just a different colour.

It's crazy how in just a few short years we've gone from zero Superhero Strategy RPGs to two highly competent and fleshed out ones!

Btw, I just finished the game Hellslave for my channel, and that game is UNBELIEVABLY good!
If you haven't tried it before, I highly recommend giving it a shot.
It's only around 20 hours long and is a fairly minimalistic point and click dungeon crawler, but for turn-based RPG fans, it's a must play 🙂

I was waiting for someone to make a video like this. I just unlocked Ignis and wasn’t quite sure where to go with my SP. replaying some of the old missions with upgraded heroes is fun but I just hate that SP is shared.
Yup it makes leveling them up more difficult.
Well, i simply dislike games that do not let me freeform character builds.
Yeah I have heard multiple people state they really want to create their own super hero.

It’s not that type of game though. That wouldn’t work in with combination with presets. It would be a hell to balance.
is there NG+ for this game? how did u reach lv5 ? Is it possible to max all your heroes in one playthrough ?
You can go back and play previous missions to gain XP. I don't think there is a NG+ option.

It feels like hyde should’ve been a pure healer/support hero type but they decided to go with a tank/healer hybrid
Ignis, yeah trash mobs and proper setup with fire emplacement is vital for her but I would rather have weathervane because he can push and drag enemies off ledges which makes a huge difference against elite foes then just if is straight damage
kinetic , well he only charges up the party ultimates , great but not much usefulness
I am seeing maps with ledges and ledge takedowns objectives so having mercurial and weathervane who can push enemies off ledges easily , they seem to be mandatory party members
facet is a great tank , he is needed on all missions, his crystals blocking enemies line of sight, immobilising and mercurial facet dash makes battle strategy work more in your favor
mindflare is a boss killer and he is an elite enemy killer as well , for sure
rebound, she is good backstabbing hero , damage dealer , her disarms helps too
mercurial is a great hero, she easily knockoff enemies , instant kills with positioning , her kicks and punch can disarm as well, this alry places her high on the list and her ultimate gives her turn advantages
wearhervane is everything ignis is but better , he can push enemies off ledges and deal damage and i didn’t know his chain lightning can pair with facet crystals are to channel it to other foes
It’s possible to grind skills and XP in the simulations
Been looking all over for a list of characters but "Capes" is such a generic word that it has been hard to find a good roster list behind the million of DC/Marvel posts. Thanks for this!

Until they add a customizable Hero Creator I'm not buying this game. I'm a huge xcom fan with a ton of experience ranging from the old ones like Ufo Defense and Terror From The Deep till the new ones from Firaxis. Huge waste of opportunity leaving out the option to make our custom made hero like in City of Heroes. My take.

The problem is either A the hero will basically have weaker versions of all the powers so that you can’t just use the best powers. Or b have like two options for powers and not be that different but with a custom skin. It would be quite hard to balance a custom hero. City of heroes did this but being an rpg where ylur powrss were your class
Mostly agree with ya. I do think they kinda fumbled the bag not including character creation. It's one of the best aspects of Superhero games. Id hate to think how much hours ive spent on Champions Online simply customising my hero. 😅😅
On topic thou I believe, character creation can be circumvented if the roster is massive like Marvel Heroes and Ultimate Alliance franchise and it included multiple of secondary skins or a comprehensive transmog system.
