I've had this game wishlisted for a few years, and having seen this I find myself wishing for a super-wishlist. Good humor, fun puzzles, interesting story, really cool setting? Almost everything I've ever wanted right there.
Sounds like some inspiration here from the Dresden Files book series staring everyone's favorite wizard PI, Harry Dresden. If this genre interests you you're in for a reading treat.
The Dresden files were my introduction to urban fantasy. I loved them. Unfortunately, when I started to read them again, the wonder was gone (obviously) and I couldn't get past all the whining of Harry anymore. But it's definitely a fantastic series to be read at least once!

Jim Butcher is the real wizard, by being able to write such a fast paced, fun and deep story. Early Harry is a bit annoying because you know how good he gets later on, but the series is worth it.

Thank you so much for the effort you put into this video splat! It was great! Okay, I am not a big fan of tactical puzzle games like Into the Breach. But the setting of this, I’m a huge Shadowrun fangirl and I’ve had that exact same tac ops wizard fantasy before. The dialogue is what sold me though, I know a lot of people don’t like that style and I get it but I do. I loved the dialogue in this, the voices splat gave them, and I had a big smile on my face the whole time. I can’t wait to try this.

This developer made Heat Signature, which excels at procedural generation and pushing you to think on your feet, so hopefully this one is more like that and less like a puzzle game.
Nah, the demo also had a second chapter, and if that's anything to go by, it's a continuation of the puzzle game fights. I personally enjoy it, but I can see how it's not everyone's jam.

HA ha ha excellent! They are finally picking up on the Tactic Wizardry! Great premise and lots of fun. I remember running some D&D campaigns where I would mix Fantasy with Sci Fi. Kind of like GURPS but with different rules and dice. Wizards carving their staves and wands into hand held projectile weapons have been around the circuit for a few decades. There are no games that really hit that vein of fantasy yet. Hopefully this game will open those flood gates.
I have this vague memory of seeing the proto version of this from years ago, although I think it was Witches, and I remember one of them being a tank/healer. I like this crew too though. Also, you've got to stop feeling bad about taking down a group of armed thugs who put innocents in danger. Badges don't make them the good guys.
It was always Wizards, but 'CQB Witch' was one of the early concepts, but that's very close to what Jen is here, just with a slightly different skill set. And we've seen trailer gameplay that had the Armed Combat Priest, and she did tanking/healing stuff. She actually had more movement the more damage she had taken, I think? And word. Love the take they have here on the police. If not actively a problem then at least apathetically complicit.
Whoever writes the dialogue is speaking fluent veteran. Military guys are particularly fond of shooting this precise kind of shit. Very dry, very sarcastic, and very much a way to keep your mind out of dark places so you don't panic or spiral in the middle of a mission.
So glad this game is still being worked on, I'm really looking forward to it. Into the Breach was weird for me; I really enjoyed it, but once I ran out of patience for it that patience never came back.

I just played through the demo and i am loving everything about it! One thing Splat is right about the game is that it feels more like a puzzle game rather than a tactical turn based game. Think more puzzle solver game and less XCOM. Personally I would love this to be more XCOM like but this has its own charm already. I love it!

Gameplay looks boring, just a bunch of mini-puzzles with very few options in environments that all look the same. The dialogue is hilarious, though and one might play it just for that. However, that would be one of the few cases where I would rather watch a streamer play and finish the game than playing it myself.
You realise this was the tutorial level, right? Like it was clearly designed to be very specific in solutions in order to guide the player through one single concept at a time. Level design will be a question mark, sure, but I don't think the simple nature of this footage is going to be overly indicative. If for no other reason than there's another 2 party members still to go.
I'm gonna be honest I never was a fan of tactical shooters and the such, but the premises of the setting and the writing shown in this demo has convinced me to wishlist this game!

I love this so much already, hope it expands out like Heat Signature does, or at least Invisible Inc.
This would have been SO much better as an Xcom with tactical wizards instead of a puzzle game.

Gameplay looks boring, just a bunch of mini-puzzles with very few options in environments that all look the same. The dialogue is hilarious, though and one might play it just for that. However, that would be one of the few cases where I would rather watch a streamer play and finish the game than playing it myself.
You realise this was the tutorial level, right? Like it was clearly designed to be very specific in solutions in order to guide the player through one single concept at a time.
Level design will be a question mark, sure, but I don't think the simple nature of this footage is going to be overly indicative. If for no other reason than there's another 2 party members still to go.

ive loved all of suspicous developments games (heat signature for its gameplay and gunpoint for its story/humour), great to see you cover the new one!

minor thing, but I like how they use a "Confidence" system reminiscent to TWEWY's "Bravery" system for clothing. It just makes sense.
