Yep you were right. This is serious bass GOLD. can’t wait to hit the water and try your techniques. I love my BFE. I have 2 waterproof pads filled with incredible information. Thank you brother. This is huge. Always felt I needed help with this type of bass hunting.
I flip a Yum Christie Craw and Strike King Rage Bug majority of the time. I’m with you on the 50# braid paired up with 7’6” Heavy and 7:1:1 reel. Love the content brother.
Good tips Andrew. Flipping is one of my favorite techniques especially from the bank. The more I can absorb the better I can be. Bank flipping bass over tullies is the most exciting. Thanks
I do good this time of year with the Jordan Lee champ craws. I like those because the claws float so it stands up while paused. And I like using red colors right now too. Soon I'll be throwing most huge glide baits though. Rainbow trout colors.
I was there that day and saw his truck in the parking lot. It was pretty neat to see a professional fisherman hanging out at Choke Canyon. Caught my PB that day as well on a Berkeley Max scent hog.
Everyone including myself loves the BFE. But one that's not talk as much as the BFE is the Big Bites Craw Tube. Also another few favorites I gave is the 6thsense Prawn, Gamber Why others, Beast Coast Marauder, NetBait Dagger, and my sleeper flipping Bait is the Megabass Bottle shrimp. It's like 2 senkos on a craw body
Love your video. I use a 7'8 to 7'11 heavy action rod, Team Daiwa reel with 65 lb. braid. My favorite bait is a Gamble Why Not. Never heard of the BFE bait. I will order some from TW, because I'm always willing to trying something new and different.
Dang it Andrew, I told you I liked that blue strike king hat and now you have a blu Strike king shirt 👕. Lol. Great tips man. Thank you for sharing. I’m in Michigan so the Bass are usually smaller than the monsters you’re hooking but I like the Reaction Innovation sweet beaver. I do really well on my little 500 acre home lake with the hematoma color no matter what the water color and clarity is. I peg it on an owner twist lock hook.
I gotta get me some of those BFE's! I don't get to punch as much as I would like to around here where I live, but our local lake has a ton of grass coming back in it again, it's just not that easy to find hard edges. But I think it's going to get a little better for punching. A bait I like to flip in the spring fishing bushes and trees is a baby brush hog, also will mix in a z craw.
Been using the rage bugs lately for flipping, pitching and almost any other time lately verses a worm. White pearl seems to be doing the trick here in Central Florida.
The lakes I fish don't have much grass. I pitch to lay downs, stumps and logs. Have a lot of bluff walls and rock piles. Also chunky rock in a lot of places. I like flipping the rage craw and baby craw on 1/4 to 3/4 oz flipping and finesse football jigs depending on depth and cover. I also like flipping a rage tail certain times of the year.
After this freeze water ... flip w/ 7" Mpack shad around / thru hydrilla ... "shad kill .. struggling young shad too. Worked at Rayburn after 10 degree drop for nearly 2 wks...
I been flippin with that xzone adrenaline bug its really thick tough bait and it slips right through those mattes. I seen that punch bug and bfe in the store ill gives those a shot!
Are you still planning on doing a on the water review of the new reel? All we have is hard water here in Colorado so I'd like review while using and best settings for pitching and flipping! It's cool you admit what baits you really use just not the ones you sponsored by! Nice catch by the way and thanks for the tips
I like a reaction innovation sweet beaver green pumpkin w/ tail dipped in orange. How did Hallmans new cam preform? lol. Good idea. He better lock that up before someone steals it.
Really like the info vids man. Took me years to find a braid i like. Floro to but on the braid i use x9. Not heard that much on sk. Should i give it a try i only use 15lbs bc i have no cover on my lake. Cant wait to try the BFE this year.
For me either the blue green pumpkin bandito bug or strike king rage bug moon juice red flake with a 3/8 oz to 1 1/2 oz with a bobber stopper 3,inches above the bait and I’ll add a black and blue skirt or pp&j skirt with a rattle for me a rattle has always worked I use a 7’5 13 fishing heavy omen with a curado 200 k or a Diawa tatula 103 all 8.1 gear ratio 50lb braid some times 65 if I’m in the CA delta where I fish all the time. I caught a 8 lber 2 weeks ago punching!
Dude I actually love flipping the space monkey more than any other SK bait. The rage bug is good but that space monkey is great because it’s so slender (obviously).
My favorite pitching and flipping bait for isolated shallow cover, like wood, is a Texas rigged ol Monster worm. Catches fish from a ½ lb to as big as they come
@@AndrewUpshawFishing I havent seen anybody else use that technique. We use it just like you'd use a jig or any other compact flipping bait. But it really only works well in more open areas, or sparse cover like lay down trees, or other wood, or rocks
Berkley PowerBait bunker hog if fish are active. If they are be finicky, bunker hog/creature hog in maxxscent. I’m a believer in the PowerBait and max scent stuff.
Andrew, I fish a lake that has a lot of lyngbya (black mat algae). How would you advise approaching the lake? I had a great spring last year but summer was horrible. Like the dead sea. I fished from 0-32' and never got on a decent bite. Thanks!
I'm sorry if I missed something, been going thru stuff. I just assumed you were fishing bass, after your win. I actually planned to follow you in Knoxville. I just realized u weren't fishing the elites. I hate that but I'm sure you have a lot on the table.
Thanks Andrew - what about the hook - do you always use the same style, size, etc - and - what knot? Another question - relative to water temp or water color - any suggestions for a better result? Thanks.
Curious, do you ever change parts in your reels? Like upgrading bearings or putting in carbontex washers? I can see that helping, especially in a flipping situation, but wonder how many pros feel it helps.
4” chompers craw tube ! Had a good tournament last Saturday end up 4th with 10.80 winner had 12.4 soo not too bad but all our bigger.l bites came off that tube
Culprit incredicraw/incredislim/gambler bb cricket. you look like a shorter guy which I am. Is such a long rod comfortable? I can't find the right flipping stick being 5 foot 6.

It's a good thing you were there when you were. You might need an ice auger to fish that hydrilla now. Great video.
Yep you were right. This is serious bass GOLD. can’t wait to hit the water and try your techniques. I love my BFE. I have 2 waterproof pads filled with incredible information. Thank you brother. This is huge. Always felt I needed help with this type of bass hunting.
For sure Rog. Thank you for being such a big supporter of my channel!🙏
Zoom Brush Hog. Really like that they came out with a Mid size brush hog. Love to Carolina Rig that bait as well, here in North East Oklahoma 👊
I appreciate you showing some love for Choke Canyon, Rage Bug, RI sweet beaver, magnum tubes with a rattle shoved in the tube.
That rattle trick is money
Hands down my favorite flipping bait is a zoom ultra vibe speed craw. From a jig trailer to punching always works for me
I flip a Yum Christie Craw and Strike King Rage Bug majority of the time. I’m with you on the 50# braid paired up with 7’6” Heavy and 7:1:1 reel. Love the content brother.

Always great stuff from you man, my favorite is the Pit Boss, man that thing just flat gets it done for me.
Thanks for the videos and how often you post them. It helps in keeping the cabin fever at bay.
structure bug and stroker craw are my go to. honorable mentions are menace grub, sweet beaver, punch predators, and senkos
Zoom brush hog is my favorite flipping bait, good for punching veg since it's a slender bait
Favorite flippin bait is definitely a 6th Sense Prawn! Great video!
Great info for someone like me who is new to large mouth fishing
I do good this time of year with the Jordan Lee champ craws. I like those because the claws float so it stands up while paused. And I like using red colors right now too. Soon I'll be throwing most huge glide baits though. Rainbow trout colors.

Thanks for the instruction Andrew, and the update on the SP reel. Looks like the drag is holding up ok you were able to winch that fish in fine!
Great vid. I like to flip OSP do live craw
just got my BFE"s can"t wait to try them
They are really good
Lol. You got the hallman stick on the front of the boat. Love it.
Good stuff... I definitely need to step up my flipping game. Favorite bait to flip is a space monkey.
I love using reaction innovation mostly, Im new to flipping and usually use football jigs since our lakes are more rocky than grassy
I could see that. But you can flip rocks too
@@AndrewUpshawFishing any tips for flipping rocks?

You should try flipping a dying minnow : D Great info! Thanks Andrew!
I should!
That's a great idea I feel so many bass fishermen overlook live bait

Strike king rage twin tail menace in blue craw is awesome for flippin where I fish. 👍
Trench Hog or Bandito Bug are my 2 go to flipping or pitching baits.
I been flippin with that xzone adrenaline bug its really thick tough bait and it slips right through those mattes. I seen that punch bug and bfe in the store ill gives those a shot!
great info. I like a good ole brush hog or an ole monster with a 1 1/2 ounce weight.
Those are both great baits for it
Headed to the harris chain Next week may do this some I hope.

Regular football jig, and love a zoom brush hog!

That’s a good one. Yea, it’s pretty much amazing. I know he’s working on locking it up as we speak
I use Berkeley power hogs and rage tail craws typically in Tennessee valley

Andrew I like flipping a Beaver style bait with my custom Dobyns 7"11 heavy action rod
Dude I actually love flipping the space monkey more than any other SK bait. The rage bug is good but that space monkey is great because it’s so slender (obviously).
Great video, good information 👍
Thanks buddy!
Andrew, can you tell or show how to set the reel cast and brake controls for flipping and pitching?
I love the zoom z craw and z craw jr
You need to try flipping a gambler bb cricket, its very good especially when the fish are more finicky

In Oklahoma, one of the best baits for flipping bushes in the post spawn is a big worm like that. But rarely anyone talks about it.
Geeze Andrew, we gotcha you bud, but tune down the car salesman “style” haha, the intro made me laugh
Damiki aircraw black and blue flake good flipping bait. White one for bed fishing !!!!!! Junebug baby brush hog with a punch skirt.
i like bandito bug
I’ve used a few. They are good.
I like the rage bug but my absolute favorite flippin bait is a sweet beaver!
It’s a good one
Great video. Just one question. What kind of hook were you using and what size?
Fish tuck up under anything they can get there hands on....lmao funny man andrew!
Lmao! I actually tried to photoshop a bass with hands, but couldn’t quite get what I wanted. But I couldn’t take it out of the video 😂
Great info !! What’s your thoughts on snell knots when flipping ? I’m not a fan of the snell, and do you prefer isolated mats ?
One bait I would recommend is the mattlures closer you should really ck it out one of the best shad swimmers on the market.
Hey andrew try out chasebait flip flop its the most unique soft plastic IV seen in awhile
I’ll check it out
Berkley PowerBait bunker hog if fish are active. If they are be finicky, bunker hog/creature hog in maxxscent. I’m a believer in the PowerBait and max scent stuff.
