Here’s a good tip for using spray dye. Hold your trailer up to the back of your fishing buddy’s shirt while he’s focused on fishing and spray away. It keeps the dye off your boats carpet and absorbs into his shirt.
After watching and studying this series im lookin back feelin like i just went thru graduate school for bass jiggin. Now to go out and actually do it. Just like a residency. Lol great series man. Best ive found anywhere. Not even a close 2nd. I feel like my head is about to explode.
My man Randy. I was ' hooked' with Intuitive Angling @ less than 2k. This channel is the best master class I could have hoped for. Keep up the great work and topics. Never used the spray tint , only so much room in my kayak.
Randy thanks for your time on jigs I'll be watching this many more times it's great having pro. Helping us and years of experiences that you have as always tight lines and God bless
the second half of the video is what i came here for i’m more of a bigger picture guy than the nuances of the lures guy but i really wanted a birds eye technical view of the flipping and pitching skill itself and Randy took us to church on that one even tips on fighting the fish i had no idea so much tangible info and demonstration to work on thank you my guy!
Man what a great video I’ve been wanting to learn to flip and pitch I’ve tried fishing jigs years ago never really had confidence in them till this year and just by watching it’s given me a new prospective to practice the technique more thanks Randy
Randy I have got to say that I greatly appreciate what you are doing with this channel I am from Florida so not everything is specific to my area but I definitely get tips that I can use please continue the all the hard work that you put in these videos and sharing your experiences through the years
Thanks for the great seminar. Would you consider doing a "short" on hooking the chunks on the jig. Maybe on a jig without a skirt so you can show us the difference between threading and hanging a chunk. Thanks!
Uh oh after watching and retaining all this great info. My future competitors may be disappointed. Keep up the hard work Randy and thanks for your time and teaching of this great sport. Looking forward to more informational videos.
Great video the information was very helpful you have helped me. I now have a grandson hooked 🤣on bass fishing with some of your techniques making the difference.
My favorite way to fish is flipping and pitching and I believe that is the best video I have ever seen. Currently I flip more soft plastics than jigs but I will give them a better chance.
That was good stuff with a lot of great information Randy thank you for taking the time to do these videos. I always liked fishing a jig but gave up on it. Cuz I just couldn't catch them consistently on it. I started fishing it again a few months ago and I am addicted to it even more than ever. And have been having great success doing so
A lot of us know that knot as the double pitzen. I use it no matter what you call it. The ability to to cast with both hands is critical. Thanks again , sorry I keep adding more comments, there's so much to take in.
So Randy you were talking about the big fish hop when you’re fishing laydowns, and structure, does the same apply when you’re fishing it and thicker grass, like if you’re punching the grass or fishing it in the holes, or do you utilize more of a yo-yo technique as if you were fishing a traditional soft plastic creature bait
Great video I have been a subscriber since you started i have fished jigs forever but i started making my own about 3 years ago and I love it I pour my own jig heads and paint them make skirts I have the cheap tube tool for collars I have been looking for skirt collar plyers like you use but cant find them where could I get a pair of them ? I dont comment a lot but watch all your videos i have been fishing since I was a kid gonna be 61 this year but always looking to learn somthing new . And its great to catch fish on a bait you make yourself.
That was a awesome. Learned so much. You have to write this information down so you can go back over it. If I can read it I can remember it. Thank you.
Many thanks for this valuable wealth of knowledge. I've been tying my own jigs for many years and still learned something new. One question though, how do you store jigs with living rubber skirts ? After a few weeks in my box the living rubber turns into a melted tangled mess, completely unusable. Silicone does not do this .
Hey Randy, I live in California and fish deep water reservoirs. Pretty much what I have around me. So many vids deal with lakes that have vegetation and wood. I do have a little of that but mostly rock structures and lots of spotted bass. Maybe this could be a vid in the future. Just a thought. Good work battling FFS!
Just watched Ike talk about pecking the limb or mat with the jig before pulling it out lol. Last week I think. That little trick I thought only I did until the last couple of weeks. Lol. The word is out I guess.
I was taught to flipping practice by stacking a few concrete blocks in the back yard. Put a glass ash tray be hind, beside a tree and learn to flip without making a rink sound when it hits the glass. I do have a question. I read in Bassmaster mag some 30 to 40 years ago that all colors except blue went to black after either 6 or 15 feet. I am 70 so I can’t remember that far back. What is your current knowledge say on this?
@@AdvancedBassFishing ok. Thanks. I tie my own jigs and I’ve been putting it on top. I will tie some with it on the bottom and see if there’s a difference. Thanks again!!!…
Regarding Green Pumpkin skirts: depending on where/who you buy from, that color varies all over. Do you prefer a more green color or more brown? Also,Smallmouths on rock piles: pitch a jig, or a different technique?
I’m having the hardest time getting hooked up. I’m a decent flipper I feel and I get a lot of bites bite but I’m not sure why I can’t hook ‘em 25lb seagaur 7’6 med heavy… not a slack liner other than that I feel like I’ve tried it all. What do I do??
Get better jigs. Cross their eyes with your hookset. Get more better jigs. The hook is everything, and this Old School jig is super good. I even still like the old Strike King Brauer Pro Model jig. I remove the rattles.😊
ok Randy gotta ask. why never white on flipping ? you just never ever hear that said. i just dont get it. arent baitfish or shad up shallow just as much as anything else ??
"Guys, make sure you pound your pork until it gets limp"- Randy Blauket 😅😂🤣
Great video Randy, sorry I had too lol

Awesome tip. I'll definitely have to try that!! LOL!!!😂
Does it wash out?
@@godeeperbiblestudy no but it’ll give him a nice tie dye fishing shirt with the shapes of your favorite soft plastics

I put Randy up there around Hackney and Brauer flippin a jig. If there was anything I would soak up, it's every bit of this video. Great job Randy.
Randy thanks for your time on jigs I'll be watching this many more times it's great having pro. Helping us and years of experiences that you have as always tight lines and God bless

Great video Randy 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the advanced master classes. Will watch them over again.
Good information Randy, I learned a lot. I’m 68 years old and have been fishing a worm 1st than a jig. Thx for your advice 👍

One of the best and most in depth videos on jig fishing I have seen ...Thanks Randy , Looking forward to the next one in your advanced series...
Great video
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos
I also will dip a straw in the bottle of dye and drag it across the lure I'm trying to dye. I find it helps make a subtle change
Top notch seminar!! Thank you
Best comprehensive jig fishing seminar I have ever listened to ever. Thanks Randy your the man! I love fishing jigs!!!

Hey if and when possible can u try to talk about 10-20ft+ of visibility as well. Dynamite content Randy!!!!!!
He not lying about that knot. I quit breaking off after changing from a polymer knot.
Do you skip cast very often, or do you mostly just pitch cast?

People use to mix dyes to tone down the chartreuse and make it not as bright. If I remember correctly you add a little blue in your chartreuse .
Just watched Ike talk about pecking the limb or mat with the jig before pulling it out lol. Last week I think. That little trick I thought only I did until the last couple of weeks. Lol. The word is out I guess.
Randy, another great seminar! Wondering, what brand of hooks do you have on the Old School jig?
Thank you very much I do have one question If you were fishing a straight black jig what color trailers would you use and what water clarity
Most of the time, a solid blue trailer for waters. Viz of 6 to 15 inches
@@AdvancedBassFishing thank you so much
When you showed brown and orange skirt - it looked more like pumpkin. Is your brown more of pumpkin color?
With the dip dyes, I borrowed (stole lol) a makeup brush from my wife to make it blend in like the spray dye does. Just a tip for guys on a budget.

I love the Atchafalaya Basin , can you tell us the color jig and trailer u did good on there , thanks for any info
I took a green pumpkin, super chunk and died half of it, chartreuse and half of it black
@@AdvancedBassFishing thanks mr Randy cause I fish there it’s not far from me , definitely going to use it
Do they sell or where to get the old school pork in the jar frog 🐸
How important is it if your secondary color is on top or bottom of the jig.??
I prefer it on the bottom for better visual to the fish.
@@AdvancedBassFishing ok. Thanks. I tie my own jigs and I’ve been putting it on top. I will tie some with it on the bottom and see if there’s a difference. Thanks again!!!…
When did living rubber become difficult to buy?
That living rubber nugget is real deal, pat attention people
You said it:
Maybe call it an MSA knot:
Maximum Shock Absorption
Double-uni is a common term used for the basic braid to flouro knot
What about another similar presentation punching rig, with less jig stuck in cover
Regarding Green Pumpkin skirts: depending on where/who you buy from, that color varies all over. Do you prefer a more green color or more brown? Also,Smallmouths on rock piles: pitch a jig, or a different technique?
Here is the Baitwrx link you can find them there. Most of the time I prefer more of a brown color and then I very my trailer…..bait-wrx.com/

@@bradleyrussell1973 Not trying to be funny but, just curious as to why you would remove the rattles?
So if you spent time grinding a head down to a lighter say 1/8 oz head, why not offer a jig head that size?
The general rule, the colder the water, the less action of the trailer. The warmer the water, more action of the trailer
I just wonder if fish see chartreuse as a different color than we do.
Advanced would include all the great trailers like beavers.
ok Randy gotta ask. why never white on flipping ? you just never ever hear that said. i just dont get it. arent baitfish or shad up shallow just as much as anything else ??
You never mention the reel you use, only the rod ????
He didn't mention the make, but he did say high speed: 7/1 +
Randy, sounds like that reel needs some oil!
This fool thinks he’s a combination of Martha Stewart and the Mario Brothers
Top notch seminar!! Thank you
