I couldn't agree more with the comment from the Kayaker. When i fish out of my boat I get in the cover water mindset. In my kayak I really slow down and pic things apart. From my kayak i constantly see guys in boats fish past the fish before they get a bite and keep moving. Awesome videos!
I got rid of all my baitcasters because after 20+ years of bass fishing i realised that small lures with the right techniques i actually cast within the zone of fish and caught more bass with my spinning reel with a wacky rig than with the baitcaster. I always backlashed my baitcaster when flipping. Now i will try flipping my spinning reel
Nice video Andrew, I really look forward to your videos, all my local lakes here in central California have been closed since March hopefully we can get back to some bass fishing soon👍
Amazing informative video. I thought it was just us down here on this tough tidal river doing this. Flipping 1/8 oz weights in to 5 foot is a lesson in patience
@@AndrewUpshawFishing My home lake is inundated with filamentous snot grass on all the shallow bushes. Most all lures get bogged down in it. Suggestions for lures?
Gross. Lol umm I would probably have to suggest weightless plastics or maybe even a heavy duty drop shot. Something to keep the bait more off the bottom.
In my view most major companies all produce certain bait types/shapes and almost copy each other regarding the most popular shapes. If company X was paying me I'd throw their stuff. I usually buy whats on sale, except for certain "go to" baits, and I catch FL strain Bucketmouths on many different baits within a stone's throw from my home. I will mention I'm mainly a bank angler fishing golf course and neighborhood ponds, and canals. Also there are Hawgs to be had in these small waters, so much so I take for granted what it feels like to catch a 9 lb Bass what for some northern anglers would be the fish of a lifetime. Nice tips on all of your vids and I will try this out for sure as own a few packs of Rage bugs and like the idea of not spooking the fish with a gigantic splash lmao.
nice video Andrew..... i've never heard anyone in all these years explain how the beaver type bait came in to replace/improve the tube flipping lure.....
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Hezekiah Pedro i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Another great video mr. Upshaw. Once again I’ve learned something. Now I’m headed to a pond. Will there be any more house videos of you guys ( Scott, blat). When tournaments start back up. Those are epic.
I tend to always flip and pitch a straight shank and snell it every time with flouro or braid. The trick for not hanging up in wood a lot with a snell is putting a bobber stop above and below the weight so it doesn’t cabotage that hook every time i contact a branch or whatever. I found out last year how effective a smaller 3-3.5” inch craw or creature bait on a 1/4oz or less can be. I caught all my big females last year during the spawn pitching to the dark spots outside of the beds on that setup with 16-18lb flouro.
I could see that. I’m not a fan of a snell with fluorocarbon personally, but I know a lot of guys who use it. But I am a fan of flipping smaller baits to spawners!
Thanks for this share. Great information! Do you use your BBB fighting frogs this time of year? Similar to the Rage at all? Hooked sideways?? Thanks Andrew
Your techniques videos really get me thinking!!! Keep up the good work!!! Also, do you ever Use the Chameleon color? I think that color would work in any water clarity. What are your thoughts?
hey whats up Andrew ?? i was on a lake yesterday and there are trees that are about 16 foot of water fish where suspended what technique would you use to fish i would love some info and was that a xpress boat
Was it standing timber or brush? If it was me, I would probably target them with a weedless drop shot. They will eat fast and you can tell how big they are. And it’s a Lowe Aluminum bass boat. I had to use it for a Tv show.
Yes it will. I’ve used a 7’ heavy a lot of times and had good luck. Only issue you will run into is in a little heavier cover you might lose one or two.
I still run a Bass Cat Eyra for al of my tournament stuff. I was using that boat for a tv show. The boat is a Lowe Stinger 198. Pretty cool boat honestly.

Man, that drone footage is gold. Great viewpoint to show you pitching the weedline
Had a good camera man!
Interesting points that you bring up. I’ll have to try it. Thanks. Love the shots with you and your son.
Thanks Jim! Those are my favorite shots too.
Great Video, thanks for the insight. Will definitely be trying this technique. Drone footage turned out great. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Sean! Really liked the drone footage myself.

Mark LOpez same here in San Diego and makes no sense what so ever why we can’t fish 🤦🏻♂️

Couldn’t agree more. Takes a lot of patience and the ability to stick with it past 30 min.
"Dont try it unless u want to get your arm broke" Lol. Good, informative video, thank u!
😂😂😂
Love these in depth videos. My fav creatures are sweet beaver and rodent.
Thanks Jordan!
I like you talking about non sponsor gear nice job
Great explanation for choosing which bait. Thanks.
Thanks Ron!

Interesting finesse pitching. That boat front deck looIs huge
That’s the boat I was filming out of. Still run a Bass Cat for tournaments though!
Your "how-to" videos are great Andrew, I hope you keep 'em coming! Okeechobee Craw seems to work well for me on these TN reservoirs. God bless!
Thanks Martin. Okeechobee Craw is a great color a lot of places!

For sure! They will be coming as soon as tournaments start back.

It would be awesome if SK would come out with value packs of the flipping baits too!!
I agree!
This is exactly why I moved to Missile Baits D-Bomb.
Thanks for this share. Great information! Do you use your BBB fighting frogs this time of year? Similar to the Rage at all? Hooked sideways?? Thanks Andrew
I have used it. It’s a good bait for sure. I know Bradley likes it a lot. His new BFE will be legit too
Andrew Upshaw Fishing “Best Flipper Ever” he says! Awesome that McKenzie could do the art/cad work. I’m sure I’ll try em out when available.
nice video.
Thanks Ray!

I’m a big fan of the Chameleon color actually. I just like multi-tone colors. I think those are the best for flipping.
Andrew Upshaw Fishing Awesome!! Chameleon and Cali 420 are favorites!!!
I slam em on blue craw all year around. Dye tips once in a while with fire red, chartreuse or orange
That color is so awesome. Agree with changing the color up sometimes too! Don’t be afraid to color one blue from time to time too! 😉
Glad you didn't give away any of my colors lol
What are those??😂👀
Pink woolybooger lol
Hey, Thanks for the info!! How are things looking for Neely Henry??
They postponed it until October.

@@AndrewUpshawFishing yes it was standing timber i was pitching a T rig with braid cool thanks for the info
Good luck!
Does your chartreuse dye have a scent?
Garlic
Could a 7’ heavy work instead of a 7’6? Or is it just personal preference?
Yes it will. I’ve used a 7’ heavy a lot of times and had good luck. Only issue you will run into is in a little heavier cover you might lose one or two.
Andrew Upshaw Fishing Noted!!! Thanks for the feedback!!
I know that's not your Basscat, What aluminum boat were you running then?
I still run a Bass Cat Eyra for al of my tournament stuff. I was using that boat for a tv show. The boat is a Lowe Stinger 198. Pretty cool boat honestly.
@@AndrewUpshawFishing thanks! I kinda thought that's what it was.
You give’n away the goods. #dajuice
Agreed!
I finished 3rd in a bfl 3 weeks ago pitching a green pumpkin shim e stick with 1/8oz weight.
Heck yea! Congrats man!
1/8 flipping has won more club tournaments then anything else. My two cents
Agreed!
cant wait to break my arm... 1/4 oz at a time...
Heck yea! Lol
Do you ever put on a punch skirt ? To ad bulk or like a weedless jig presentation. Punch skirt beaver or baby brush hog and 1/4 ounce tungsten ?
