Great tip! The wobble head is my go-to in milfoil and coon tail here in the North! I use a 3/8 oz with a Z-Man floating worm and let it fall to the bottom and drag it on the bottom similar to a shakey head! $$$$$
Mr Andrew Upshaw, you could quite possibly be the hardest working individual in the fishing industry. There's good reason why your channel is exploding, you're posting more useful and valuable content than anybody else right now. I subscribed early on when you first got started and you've continued over that period of time to find relevant useful topics to help us average fishermen catch more fish. Your efforts are much appreciated. Hopefully it's providing a return for you that's worthwhile, as there is no doubt you put in a ton of time and effort into consistently producing these videos for your subscribers. Well done 👏
I have been using an 1/8oz swivel head with a finesse worm with great success on smallmouth. I prefer heads that you can change the hooks on in order to use a heavier weight with a smaller hook on smaller finesse baits. The menace works well as does baby rage craw I also like to use the 4'' chigger craw crazy legs or a Yum Cristie craw.
The Biffle Bug is my favorite by far. Granted I haven't tried many others. But that is because the Biffle Bug itself has been so good for me. It catches numbers and and big fish.
I started bass fishing back in the 80s(yeah, I'm old lol), but had to step away for a decade+ for health reasons, so now I'm starting to be able to get back into it & wow! there are so many cool new things to me. I will have to get some of these swing jig heads! I have had great success in the past on Zoom brush hogs, but mainly flipping cover with a big worm weight & a 5/0 ewg hook... gonna have to give this presentation a try!
I was showed the structure head with a brush hog in 2018 and it catches typically bigger fish than any other technique I've ever tried. I tried it on the outside edge's of grass and it's a deadly method for sure!!!
Great video... I'm going to try that "exposed eye" tip. I didn't even think about that. I'm a HUGE fan of the Biffle series, though. Only because where I live, everyone and their mother is throwing everything BUT a Biffle bug, and there's really no crawfish (at least that I've seen). Being from the midwest originally, the rivers/lakes that have crawfish, have crawfish everywhere. I have yet to see one anywhere here in south-central Florida. Not only that, but the Biffle Bug has a really unique look and action. Nothing looks like that, with that cupped tail, that also looks great on the back of a chatterbait, when you pull the legs off. Thanks for sharing!
Great instructional video! I use a variety of baits for bugging. Anything that works for Carolina rigging works for this as well. It's just a steady retrieve. Would love to see a video on lure modifications you do as well. Some of us never stop tinkering!
I wrecked em' at Douglas a couple years back on a Biffle Head and a Reaction Innovations Kinky Beaver in Sprayed Grass !!!! Nearly every fish I caught came out of nearly 40' of water and dragging that combo was the only thing I could get them to react to.
Informative video, thanks! Strike King baits are amongst the best out there, so you got yourself a sponsor that its not hard to use and plug their baits! I know there is a baby 3" Rage bug (the regular size is 4"), and the menace grub is 4" (but there is a magnum version, still 4" but larger profile/more plastic). I've bought some supplies for the swing head but haven't had the extra time to play much with it. I need to find more rockier/hard bottom areas in my local lakes as it supposedly shines in that environment. Generally speaking would you recommend the 4" version of baits (rage bug, menace grub, biffle bug, etc. as opposed to the jr. versions, whereoffered, usually 3"?
The yum mighty bug is my favorite on a 3/4 Oz structure head, it's a catcher. I don't think there in production anymore but I bought out my local guy so I'm good for a minute. Keep up the good content love watching.
Good video Andrew I'm going to try this rig out I've never tried it and I was wondering what else I could use I like the rage swimmer on there. I also like the structure head better than the Biffle head it looks like it will be more efficient. Thanks for the video Andrew God bless you and your family.
Never thought about putting the swimmer on it, definitely gonna try that and gonna pull the structure head out more when we hit up Cherokee. Great Vid bro, keep it up content is on point...maybe how a pro breaks down a crowed lake?
Dude, you are committed at putting out these videos! Great content for fishermen who want to learn different bass fishing tactics! Awesome job! Thanks!
You deserve all the subscribers, your content is knowledgeable, thoughtful and honest. I live in Florida. Is it a bait I should be throwing here in Central Florida... Harris Chain and Kissimmee Chain?
Thanks buddy! You can’t go wrong with a Texas rigged straight tail worm year around there. Or a Thunder Cricket. If I was fishing Harris right now, I would be flipping kissimmee grass though.
Brilliant series of videos. Please leave a link in your video description, eg. to Tackle Warehouse to purchase the baits discussed. Needless to say the small commission you receive will be well deserved.
I can’t find a favorite bait. I’ve had success on about 5 different lakes . A different bait worked best on each lake. Paca slim, pit boss , biffle bug , z craw and a rage bug. Been looking for a bait that works every where. But I have not found one.
Is this a great bait for nighttime bass fishing? Like riprap banks, brushpiles,or hardbottom areas? And if so, what colors would be recommended for that? Great video, i started using this method of baits last year in the summer... haven't caught a bass yet but ima trying👍
Would really like to know what kind of bottom/slope are you looking for to use this. I have had some success here in NC with it but I feel like clay bottom it is not as effective. If I find rock I use it. Come mid summer, I throw a bull worm on there and drag and hop it ;)
I really like the Rage Bug for bottom bugging but I also use the Zoom Z craw and even a Reaction Innovations ManBearPig. GREAT videos love the daily content.👍👍
How about a video on what to do she. Your getting bites on a med diving crank bait but there coming off. Couldn’t get a bite on anything started cranking had four bites in about 20 cast only Landed one of them because they weren’t getting the bait good.

I do really well with creature baits but a magnum trick worm on a swing head is the deal!!

Great info! My favorite is the 4.4 Keitech Crazy Flapper or the Reaction Innovations Kinky Beaver.
Dang man, you nailed it. I use exclusively the rage bug and menace already!
I love the bigger zoom z craw for those, I’m slightly partial to those over a menace. But I still love a menace
Thanks for the Bottom Buggin’ Tuneup! I guess I’ll try it again 😂

You are putting out some awesome videos Andrew!! Keep the daily videos coming!!!
I’m gonna try this on SJR shell beds!

The new zoom mag ultra vibe speed craw has been fantastic
Early on I caught a 5 pounder at Kentucky Lake on the structure bug with Strike King swing head in open water...out in the middle of nowhere...cool.
Great tip Andrew thanks
Old subscriber that never hit the bell so I'm more like a new subscriber at this point. Keep up the great content man, your built for this keep it up!
Glad to see the channel growing, it's certainly one of the better ones. My favorite bait for it and a lot of other things is the DStyle Truster.
Awesome advice. I am heading to wheeler and Wilson lakes June 5-12 and I will definitely be throwing this rig with the rage swimmers

Dude I like your stuff... Keep up the good work! Thanks...
I really like the structure bug and a zoom z craw in GP and junebug
Been using these for guite sometime! Great fish catcher!😉
I am a subscriber to your channel...but I just saw this video, and wanted to add my favorite trailer for this jig...5" fluke style bait.
The yum mighty bug is my favorite on a 3/4 Oz structure head, it's a catcher.
I don't think there in production anymore but I bought out my local guy so I'm good for a minute. Keep up the good content love watching.
Got to try the swimmer on there, my old standby for year was a RI Beaver on the wobble head
I use a 3/8 Oz when fishing 15-25 feet of water so it has a slower decent. I have gotten some 6 plus pounders on the way down
Congrats on the progress of the channel Andrew! Keep doin what you’re doin!!!! 👍
great tip , will try it.
good stuff man. I appreciate the rips on the swing head.
I've had good luck using a soft jerkbait/fluke style bait. Especially when the grass starts growing, but isn't fully topped out.
Thats what I'm going to throw today. weightless flukes. Some senkos, too.
I use a green pumpkin rage bug and chartreuse die tail ..thanks for the video we appreciate you brother
I like the zoom speed craw
Thanks! Your tips are always awesome!! Berkeley pit boss
Great tip brother 👍🏿
Way to go on 17k...!! Its just gonna get bigger, you are great at explaining things to those of that aren't as gifted as you on the water..
Excellent
Good video Andrew I'm going to try this rig out I've never tried it and I was wondering what else I could use I like the rage swimmer on there. I also like the structure head better than the Biffle head it looks like it will be more efficient. Thanks for the video Andrew God bless you and your family.
I love the Yamamoto cowboy, on the structure head jig, Awesome setup.
keep working,just great info
Zoom Z-Craw is another good one
Never thought about putting the swimmer on it, definitely gonna try that and gonna pull the structure head out more when we hit up Cherokee. Great Vid bro, keep it up content is on point...maybe how a pro breaks down a crowed lake?
I like the Zoom Z Craw
Dude the trench hog on a swing head looks so good!
It's the smokin rooster for me.
Dude, you are committed at putting out these videos! Great content for fishermen who want to learn different bass fishing tactics! Awesome job! Thanks!
Those are the exact wobbleheads I use lol
You deserve all the subscribers, your content is knowledgeable, thoughtful and honest. I live in Florida. Is it a bait I should be throwing here in Central Florida... Harris Chain and Kissimmee Chain?

@@AndrewUpshawFishing Thanks Andrew and keep kicking Butt!
Hi Andrew, will this work on a soft bottom - w/grass - which is what my local lake has. Thank you for cool educational videos.
Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver 4.20 for flipping and the 5.20 for dragging around the bottom.
Lovin this content!! Keep it up!!
I used a 6 inch zoom lizard last week absolutely slayed them bouncing off of rocks did the trick
Do you ever use swing heads on a skirted swim jig? Thanks for this video. Appreciate your videos.

ZMan Palmetto Bug. Lately it’s been in California Craw.

Yes use June bug

Might be a dumb question but would a Tokyo rig be a reasonable substitute?
Rage bug in June bug or green pumpkin.
Good stuff.
Question? Is there a reason other than cosmetic for black hulls on bass boats?
Missile baits D bomber or Zoom Z craw
How you been boss? Love your show!
I like the biffel bug!
I’ve been good! Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the subs. I use missile bait. D bomb
Around the spawn I like using a lizard on the swing heads.
What if I just garlic chartreuse dip the tail ,if it's late spring?
Do you use screwlock hooks on Swingheads?
What rod are you using? medium heavy or heavy?
best submerged grass in 3-5 feet of water clear bait...
Can this be done bank fishing?
Rage bug, magnum menace, rage craw, zoom z craw
Post spawn locations for bass.
Jelly worm 12 inch
KVD Perfect Plastic Rodent.
Great video Andrew! My favorite would have to be the rage bug. However I have had really good success putting a 3.5 swing bait as well.
Can you compare swing head to regular jig... when, where, why
KVD Wild Thing
The strike king space monkey has tremendous movement on the swing head. Give it try.
Use a Zoom ZCraw & SK Menis
Ever use a caffeine shad?
I really like the Rage Bug for bottom bugging but I also use the Zoom Z craw and even a Reaction Innovations ManBearPig. GREAT videos love the daily content.👍👍

I can do that!
Change to owner st36 hooks there slapping at your bait
@@southerngurlfishing2561 that’s funny that’s exactly what I did then couldn’t get another bite lol
@@tranzformedyouthtn well damn lol
How does this work at night? I’m on lake Cumberland pretty much only night fish in the summer due to the party boats
I’ll be honest, I’ve never fished it at night!
I've fished it at night here in Middle Tennessee and it works great
@@southerngurlfishing2561 you fishing largemouth or smallmouth or both?
@@scooter8320 both
All I catch is walleye when I use a swimbait.
Menace is a smallmouth killer
Z craw
Biffle Hardhead 4/0 7/16 with a Reaction Innovations Man Bear Pig or a Zoom Z-Craw
Is it equally effective on smallmouth? I fish a smallmouth heavy lake, very few big spots and a lot of largemouth.
Yes throw a small swimbait on it works good slow reeling on bottom
Hey? You're an "okie" too?
Big bite baits fighting frog
There’s always that 1 in the bunch that’s going to hit the thumbs down. Sorry haters
