Fabiano, I admire you as a chess player and as a person but please improve your video setup in order to have a better image quality 😁 . Minimum improvements: use front light instead of backlight, install your camera farther to avoid cutting your face. Congrats for the channel!

That thumbnail definitely made it look like you were accusing Levy of cheating.

Levy walked out of the room without the permission of the arbiter talking to one of his team while he was playing a game. Call it what you like.

There's no cheating scandal guys. It is just one player that was dumb to use his setup in the room. A careless dumb setup without any intentions of cheating. No one would cheat like that

They made him lose the game because he lied to the arbiter, he said he didn't look at all, then he was shown the photo OP took and then kaput.

nice insights into the cheating into chess, and also your speculation about what could have been the issue in the madrid. it was a measured balanced discussion of it

PLEASE... stop talking about Levy and GM in the same sentence or paragraph. LEVY IS 150 POINTS AWAY FROM GM. For perspective, that is like talking about Fabi reaching 2950. STOP TALKING ABOUT LEVY MAKING GRANDMASTER. STOP! 🚫

Levy is barely FM strength. A typical NM could handle Levy.

haha you do realise it's a process? no one's saying levys becoming a gm tomorrow. Having a long term goal that takes years to achieve but you still work towards it is the way to stop seeking instant gratification and actually working your a off.
In fact, just to let you know, it gets difficult to gain the same magnitude of rating points when you are higher rated. I gained + 1200 rating points in 4 years. which according to you is the same as magnus being 4000 in the year 2028?

@@PratyayDey . What are you talking about? Levy has had a lifetime of opportunities and support since childhood to become a GM. He became an IM in 2016 and was already 2200 fide back in 2012. How many decades does he need to become gm? Is he waiting to become a senior citizen to become gm? He's likely too lazy to put in the work.

@@MrSupernova111 You really think he was focusing on GM title since 'Covid' hit. In the last 4-5 years there was that one little period where he did try but didn't succeed. But no one needs to succeed in their first try after years of not playing.
In a more broader sense however, you are just making assumptions about Levys life at this point. There are a lot of social, financial, mental, and personal aspects to consider when deciding your priorities, and clearly Levy had reasons to stop pursuing professional chess and focus more on content and coaching since 2018. Again, while it's none of our business to guess why, listening to what Levy says, we can list out:
      1. He earned more money through streaming.
      2. He was very happy at the moment with IM title. So his work ethic declined.
      3. Personal happiness, he clearly seems to love what he was doing. Making 2 long videos and streaming for more than a year? Not everyone's cup of tea.
Levy now having a much more secure financial (and likely a happy married life) it makes sense that he now focuses on the things that he would 'like' to do purely for his own happiness. Because most 2500 rated gms just end up doing other jobs or chess coaching anyways, so in 2018 Levy decide not to.

@@PratyayDey . Just a longwinded reply proving my point. gm takes hard work Levy had plenty of time to become a gm but chose not to likely because he's too lazy to put in the work. End of story.
