Went to Graceland...best money ever spent...u can feel the energy all though that place...it was like walking into someone's home an them still doing every day things, time has not changed the energy strange but wonderful...thanks Elvis 👤⭐👑
Totally agree!
A very beautiful cemetery. As you may know, Red West was also a friend of Robert Conrad and appeared with him on 'The Wild, Wild West" and "Black Sheep Squadron." You are blessed to be able to visit these locations in person. What a great experience. You were wise to make a lot of video material so you could have something to do during the pandemic. Continued best of health.
i definitely feel so fortunate to visit these people and places in person. i had no idea it would take me a year to edit and upload all of these vlogs :-) some vloggers to a daily vlog and i can't imagine how they do it. one or two a week is a monumental task for me. i'm working on making them simpler and easier to edit, though. thanks, PC!
I loved listening to Charlie Rich. Behind Closed Doors was one of my all time favorites!
I had the honor of meeting Isaac Hayes when he came to talk to my History of Rock class at Columbia College in Chicago. My teacher is well known in the radio community (her name is Terri Hemmert and a fantastic person) and she knew many famous people (she even knows Beatles) and she managed to get Isaac Hayes and Al Kooper (originally from Blood Sweat and Tears) who then came to speak. Anyway, Isaac Hayes spoke to the class, took photographs, and sang. He then signed autographs. Great guy. This was before South Park, over 25 years ago. I still have his autographs and glad I met him. Oh and related to Elvis but my mom was a huge Elvis fan and she later found out her uncle was his bodyguard when Elvis was in Chicago and she could have met him. When she passed I inherited all her Elvis stuff, including trading cards, books, even dolls.
wow, how cool about everything. thanks for sharing all of this with us, RLP. pretty awesome!
Thank you Steve. Who doesn't love Elvis. I just love your videos. I hope your mom is well and safe. Much love.
Thanks so much, Rosemarie. She is and I'll be giving an update soon.
I'm glad. Please take care.
Hey Steve great blog I did not realize that Isaac Hayes was buried in Memphis it was nice seeing the graves of Sam Phillips Red West and The Silver Fox Charlie Rich as well thank you
i know. i didn't either, until i visited. thanks, eric!
I loved and still love Issac Hayes music!
I remember Charlie Rich! I still love his music! Thank you Steve for all your hard work making these videos! You’re so good at it!
Thanks Kandi 😊👍
My mother loved to listen to Charlie Rich sing on the radio. Many days when I would get home from school, she would be listening to Charlie. She also liked Charlie Pride. I remember Issac Hayes, and loved listening to him also. That you Steve for sharing your trip down memory lane with some great stars. I really appreciate your dedication. Stay Safe☺😇
Thanks for sharing with us Donna. 😊👍
Hi, Steve! What a beautiful video, my friend! Many favorites here. Isaac Hayes' music is still so powerful today. He was a complete riot as Chef on South Park! So versatile a talent🎶😃Today is my birthday, so I do consider this visit with you a treasured gift. 🎁 Thank you so much! God bless and keep you and yours safe, happy & healthy. 💕🍀Love & Luck!
Happy Birthday, IM!! Glad we got to spend it together. Hope it's been awesome!
@@TheGraveyardChannel It truly was, Steve! Thank you😊🍀
This a great video. I need to make it to Memphis. A lot of history there. Another great video, Steve.
memphis was my favorite city in tennessee. look forward to seeing your vlogs when you do. thanks, whitt!
Sam Phillips is definitely a big part of music history. Lot of music history in Memphis. We love that area and people are super friendly. Here you thought it would take months to edit and a year later there is more I'm sure. I remember Red in Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. The best craptastic movie in my opinion!
LOL it’s the road trip that keeps on giving :-) and I know what you mean. some of my movies are the ones that no one else liked 👍
@@TheGraveyardChannel You had quite the trip!
I am a massive Elvis Presley fan nice to see part of Elvis history.
Steve - older I get less I remember about my early childhood. However, I will never forget that I was four and my Mom, Dad and I used to sit out in the driveway in my Dad’s classic car and listen to the radio. It was then news of Elvis’ death broke and I will ALWAYS remember how upset my Mom was 😢
i remember where i was when i heard the news too :-( thanks for sharing this memory with us, michael!
i agree. i also remember where i was when i heard the news that john lennon, janis joplin and jim morrison died. funny how news like this sticks with you your entire life. i'm planning to do a vlog about this soon. thanks for sharing this memory with us, wayne!
Bread was great! Red West also co-wrote some of Elvis's songs and he was in Baa Baa Black sheep too with Robert Conrad ( who just passed recently) TV show from the 70's. Loved the "Silver Fox" Charlie Rich too. Issac Hayes memorial was amazing! I have a ton of his albums! Thanks Steve! So many great ones!
thanks for sharing these details with us, miles!
Looks beautiful and peaceful
It was!
You are the nicest UA-camr and do great vlogs! Your vlogs bring me peace. I love Bread and America. Love Charlie Rich as well.
thanks, al. that's always nice to hear :-)
Hi Steve! Tremendous video! I was always a big fan of Isaac Hayes, Red West and Charlie Rich! Great job my friend!😀👍
Thanks bill 👍
Sonny and Red West are both there. And Dr. Nick too. Thank u Steve✌️
thanks, lori!
Sonny is buried in Nashville.
I like the way he put's it all together, And he has a pleasant demeanor.
Yes, Priscilla spoke at Red Wests funeral. He was in the movie Roadhouse with Patrick Swaze. He was a friend of Elvis' since high school.
That’s neat to know. Thanks for sharing this Nancy 👍
Red West, among his many talents, was also a songwriter. He co-wrote Separate Ways, I'm a Fool and If Every Day Was Like Christmas among others. Graceland is on my bucket list. I do want to go there. My then wife and went to Nashville some years ago. On the way, we stopped in Hendersonville. I wanted to visit the final resting place of Johnny and June Carter Cash. We were there a pretty good while. There are some legends there. Check that place out sometime.
i did visit johnny cash's grave and shared my vlog about a year ago. glad you were there, too. i agree. it was very moving to be there. thanks, MHB!
Isaac Hayes had a big falling out with the SouthPark people and left abruptly. It is sad there is no little cartoon of Chef on his stone, as many of us will forever love his voice calling out, "Hello, children!" and his songs at the school programs, like the Christmas special. Glad you are getting these wonderful videos out, Steve! xoxo
thanks steve my wife and i loved Charlie Rich this was so good
glad you guys liked it, david!
Love your calming voice in these turbulent times.
that's nice to hear. thanks, donna!
Thank ya thank ya very much.
Herb O'Mell (Herbie) is one of my very favorite people EVER that I was graced with in my life. He cared deeply for my young family, as if we were his own. I loved our lunches at Blue City with George Klein and the stories they both would tell.
He was the real deal.
I'm proud to say I knew that amazing man, and he encouraged me in my younger years to see who I actually was. I owe all that I am to that man, and I appreciate him to have thought me important enough to give me encouraging words while he left this kind of beautiful legacy ☺
That a'baby!
I so love you Herbie!
Remember Charlie Rich well, always had country music playing in the beauty salon where i worked. Great video!
Thanks for sharing with us, ella!
Such a neat Video from an Elvis Fan.
Glad you liked it, Jackie 👍

Oh snap!!! It's Chef! Hello children!! Didn't think you's bump into Isaac Hayes in this video. This is a fantastic musikal video!!

Thanks, Joanne! I'll try to send some warmth your way :-)
Lovely, Thanks Steve. Joanne
Thanks Steve nice tour.take care of the bug bites.
👍👋🙂☕️
Thanks, Lora, I will 👍
I agree about Bread. David Gates is the only remaining member left. I also loved David's two solo albums.
I have met Jimmy Velvet whom is still alive,he was a friend of Elvis too.Nice guy,met him at a classic car auction one year.Elvis and I share something, born on the same day but different year.Isaac Hayes was the voice of Chef on South Park too
that's really cool. thanks for sharing it with us, walter!
I saw Charlie Rich, Carl Perkins, & Roy Orbinson, with The Jofdanairs in concert in January 1988, in Atlantic City. New Jersey
awesome. thanks for sharing that memory with us, danica!
Such a beautiful Cemetery, and some of these Headstones are so intricate again such a beautiful place...thank you as always Steve!😃💖
Glad you enjoyed it, Colleen!
OH YES SHAFT! LOVE THAT ERA ...
I went to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame to see Sam Philips and Elvis Presley.Tony
I bet that was interesting. Thanks for sharing with us once again Tony 👍
Just to let you know i am here liking and watching all your vlogs and love them all.
That's really nice to hear, Fred. I really appreciate that!
I would take the Eagles Greatest Hits album with me. Thanks for the cool video. I met and talked to the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy on Elvis when I worked in TN and he assured me that Elvis has in fact, left the building. Met him in 1988.
good choice and thanks for sharing this with us, dr. roberts. pretty neat to hear it from the source!
Please take months to upload them Steve, keeping us going !! An Island with just music - Would be 'Beggar on a beach of gold' Mike and the mechanic's !! Hope you and mom are well Stay safe !!! xx
thanks for sharing that, claire!
Hi Steve and Jim. Of course I remember them.
hi luanne!
Hello Steve 🙋🏾♀️. Great Video 📸.
Hi Steve, just sending blessings to mom. Great to see your still living your passion. Realize that your mom probably never misses your absence, not due to lack of love, but because of her medical condition she lives in the moment and is most likely living the memories of the past. I wanted so much to speak with you personally via email, however, I realize that you would be overwhelmed with others who want the same thing if you opened a channel to communicate. The reason I have wanted to communicate is that we are soul mates in the same passion and I do have stories to tell you that would intrigue and peak a real interest in what happens to those of us who have actually died and yet still live. I lol and hope when your mom makes the journey Home that you navigate carefully the responsibilities of the estate assignment, Robbie
hi robbie. thanks for sharing with us. as much as i would love to communicate with everyone personally, it's just not possible. there are only so many hours in each day and i barely have time to answer all of the comments i receive. it usually takes me a full day or two to reply to everyone for each video i upload. i'm so appreciative of all the comments, but answering them all doesn't leave me much time to work on new vlogs, so i may not even be able to answer all comments moving forward. thanks for watching and commenting.
What a lovely cemetery filled with many celebrities! Thanks so much for the tour....🙂
Glad you enjoyed it Megz!
Steve! Wow, an amazing number of well known people there. I was especially impressed with Charlie Rich's headstone. I remember listening to him as a teen & really loved his songs (and appearance) in Every Which Way but Loose. Good stuff! Loved Bread back in the day, too. Wore out my Best Of Bread record in the mid 70's :)
hi dave, lol, yeah i think i wore mine out too :-)
Love John Denver and Bread as well. Diary was a favorite. I saw Red West in Safe Haven 2015. It was a movie with Julianne Hough. I liked it. I think it was West’s last movie.
wow, it must have been. thanks for sharing with us, cynthia!
My hometown. Great musical heritage.
I remember Charlie Rich,my mom use to listen to him. When I hear country I always think of her. Thanks Steve 👍
music can bring back such great memories. thanks for sharing you mom's memory with us, cage!
Good video and information. I remember most all of them. Charlie Rich was one of my favorite from the time. Issac Hay’s was a great one also. Liked Shaft . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing, Fire!
Heyheyhey Steve and awesome video!!!
Very cool good job you do really nice Vlogs keep up the good work.
Thank you so much, Thomas 😁
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Hi Steve. Really nice cemetery finds in Memphis. I have never seen Charlie Rich's grave before. Very nice reliefs on it as you said. I did not know Isaac Hayes was buried there either. So much talent....so many memories gone by. I would take Barry Manilow or the Carpenters to my island. That sure dates me huh? Thank you so much for braving the
cannibal bugs of Memphis for us. You are a brave man! 🙂
LOL, they are like cannibals :-) And those are two awesome choices. Near the top of my list, too. Thanks, Pamela 👍
I hope all is well with you Steve. Any vlog containing Elvis is great. So many celebrities buried at that beautiful cemetery.
Great video as usual. I like Bread too but America is one of my favorites from that time period. I've often tried to pick one album out for a desert island but have never been able to make up my mind. Maybe a great Beatle album, some Neil Young...just too many great sounds from the mid to late 60's to mid 70's. I had an Isaac Hayes 8 track recording that I played in my 1970 Cutlass Supreme. It would be great to be driving that again and listening to that tape.
i know what you mean. it's almost an impossible choice. and that sounds like one cool ride, kerry :-)
I was there maybe 5 or 6 years ago. I was trying to find Charlie Rich, no success. Im 43 yo and a Charlie Rich fan, an old soul. That cemetary is huge! I hope to go back one day, love Memphis. Thank you!
Hi I was in Graceland, and walked in Memphis, in 2018 My childhood dream 🤗🌷🌸👍
Hi Steve! That cemetery is beautiful. I have several relatives buried there. My father will be buried there someday. I was born and raised in Memphis. George Klein, Elvis’s best friend and DJ passed away on 2/5/19 and is the person who recently passed. I wish I would have known you were here, would have given you the grand tour! Happy Travels!! 🖤🖤
my visit was a year ago. your relatives are in very good company! thanks, jessica!
Wow...cool cemetery with a lot of legendary musicians. My mom was a HUGE Elvis fan, but she did love "The Silver Fox" Charlie Rich in the 70's!!! Nice post....as always!!!
thanks for sharing, donner!
Another great video, Steve. You touched on several favorites, I love the group "Bread" as well, so it does seem our tastes are quite similar. Griffin's fellow members Mike Botts, and Larry Knechtel are also deceased. Can't help on Botts's final resting place. Knechtel is buried at Maple Hills Cemetery, Whatcom County, Washington state according to FindaGrave. Charlie Rich was another favorite of both myself, and my mom. I did know Isaac Hayes was buried there, but had let the fact slip.
Thank you for posting video of the Crystal Grotto as well, very beautiful. On Rifles/guns on grave-markers, well, guns are a part of life in the southeast. My dad was a WW 2 veteran also -- he made sure his sons all had basic skills at a minimum with firearms. He felt another world war was likely as so many of that generation did ( both of my parents were born in the 1920s). I believe he even considered building a bomb-shelter around the time JFK was in the White House, although he never actually did so.
Graceland is a great place to visit, i went there 15 years ago and had a great time
i agree. it sure it. thanks for sharing, christopher!
Nice video Steve...I'm a huge Elvis fan, and Bread is one of my favorite groups
you have good taste in music. thanks for sharing with us, bob :-)
@@TheGraveyardChannel Thank you Steve, you do too

Great vlog enjoyed🙃😊
Glad you enjoyed it, Blanca!
Steve - I couldn't believe how many musical celebrities you found in this cemetery. You were so popular! Everywhere you went - everyone wanted to be it seemed. Ha-ha. Great video. Thank you Steve. Have a great weekend. Blessings - Judith
LOL, I know :-) Thanks, Judith!
Hi Steve love your video bee miss you how is your mama love all please keep the video coming
she's doing pretty good. thanks for asking, laura!
I would definitely want to have "Strait Out Of The Box" it's George Strait greatest hits.
Steve, i hope you are staying safe and healthy. Gives us fans an update on your mom.
hi chizzie, good choice. i'm working on a memorial day vlog and i'll be giving an update on my mom in it. thanks for asking!
Thanks for the upload 👍
Thanks for watching, Timothy 👍
I love Bread's music. The only members of Bread still living are David Gates, and Rob Royer (original member).
Awesome as usual.
Thank you, Cathy!
That's a first for me! I never thought of taking a group of kids to an outing at a cemetery.
I did not realize, however, that such a beautiful grotto was there.
:-) unusual, but nice to see.
my sisters were very good friends of Elvis's nieces and they visited Graceland many times spending weekends at the mansion. that was back in 1968. boy do i feel old.
that must have been so neat. thanks for sharing this with us, nathaniel!
Where did Elvis get some niece's he was in only child..never heard of Priscilla with any siblings .Tammy Memphis TN .
@@2011TDG well your info is wrong....sailor
You never get use to the humidity 😒. Or thr bugs! I hope you enjoyed your trip to the South, otherwise!! Enjoying seeing these grave sites. I live here and have never known about any of these places except Elvis. Thank you!!
Grande hermano 👍✨✨
I remember Charlie RIch singing Behind Closed Doors. My dad was a huge Charlie Rich fan and bought his first album.
Hi Steve another great video I'm in the UK and one day would love to visit graceland 😊
i hope you get to one day. it's worth the trip. thanks, abs!
Cemetery is very well kept and beautiful.
Graceland has just reopened, but at only 25 percent. I’m ready to go back. I’d also like to visit some more cemeteries this summer depending on the coronavirus. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
that's good to hear. thanks, auntj and you too!
Hey Steve 😁, I'm a big fan of Bread they had so many great songs I think my favorite is"Diary" but no one knows_What goes on behind closed doors,, tell your mom I said"Howdy from Texas 😁"!!
yes, one of their best. thanks, so much, greg!
I love that song
I think I would take The Bee Gees greatest hits with me, if I was on a deserted island. They are truly under appreciated. They were more than a disco sensation.
I agree Nancy. They were one of my favorite groups long before they ever did disco. And they still are! 😊👍
Another interesting video of a few favorite celebrities so keep them coming Steve and wishing you and and your family all the best from new zealand
Thanks, Steve and same to you 👍
Charlie Rich,"The Silver Fox". Isaac Hayes was great. Dear Steve: have you ever heard of bug repellant? You need to stay healthy sir, bugs do carry germs sir.Take care& Thanks for sharing!
i've always heard that bug repellent is very toxic, so i've avoided it. i don't know what's worse, the bugs or the repellent :-)
@@TheGraveyardChannel try Avon's Skin So Soft. Some it works for, some it doesn't.You might have to use repellant, because bugs can be just as toxic. Please be careful,I could see your face with red patches because of the bugs!
Hi Steve 🖐🏼. If I WAS on A deserted island, And I could only listen to one album it would be:::: AL JARREAU‼️ ALWAYS FOR ME ‼️👍💜❤️👌💋💋💋🐞🐝🐞🐝🐞🐝🐞🐝🐞🐝🐞🐝🐞.

Isaac hayes is best remembered for the shaft soundtrack
Great video! Top guy!

Elvis Presley
You missed Sonny West, (body guard and Reds cousin) DJ Fontana (Elvis first drummer). and George Klein (friend and DJ) and traveled with Elvis

Red West Was In Road House With Patrick Swayze,As The Owner Of An Auto Parts Store
Larry Knechtel is laid to rest in Maple Hills, WA I should have added. Thanks again, Steve, for another wonderful video - sorry you had such a bad time with the bugs.
Great video Steve! Your someone who knows how to put a vlog together and make it interesting!
That's nice to hear, Stu. I appreciate that!
I like to song behind closed doors sad to know he's gone seems like all the greats are
Awesome vlog Steve . Thanks . Get some but spray ! Lol. Deborah Winnipeg
Thanks, Deborah, I will 👍
There’s a great story of Elvis going to the funeral of Red West’s dad. The amazing part is, Elvis’s mother died the same day as Red’s father in 1958. It’s documented how much Elvis was devastated by his mom’s death, but he still took the time to attend Red’s father’s funeral during his overwhelming grief to support Red.
wow, i didn't know that. thanks for sharing this with us, james :-(
Red West had a small part in the 1973 Walking Tall movie!
