Great video. Thanks for sharing it. I visited Graceland and the mausoleum in November of 2022. It was locked and in a bad state of disrepair. It looks a lot better in your video.
Thank you so much for watching. The mausoleum was being worked on at the time of the video. It was locked then also but renovations were being done inside as well. I hope to check it out again after renovations are done and get inside.
@@rockytoptraveler Hi Rocky. I hope you have a chance to see the mausoleum all renovated. I hope to see it again someday. It was late afternoon when I visited Forest Hill cemetery and the mausoleum and it was kind of spooky to be honest! I live in Maine though so not sure when I will be able to return there. I’d love to tour Graceland again too!😊
This is terrible the mausoleum has gotten in such mess. I use to work for a cemetery and the company that owns the cemetery and crypts have to keep this kept up. I am surprised the State of Tennessee has not fined them for not keeping the places in repair, because money is put in accounts to do this.
Yea idk why it has been neglected but I know it's been bad for several years now. Hopefully once it's fixed up they will continue to keep it up. Thanks for watching!
Why dont they key others use the mausoleum instead of letting it go to waste. Also, how did they get this built so fast just after he passed. He died in Auv 1977 and moved in Oct 1977.
Came across your video. Forest Hill Memorial Park Midtown would like to invite you back for your own personal tour as we have now completed the renovation project. The Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 2, 2024 @ 11:00.
It was you that sent the message...I thought it was someone named Donna. Anyways, thanks for the invite. It was so neat to be able to go through the mausoleum. Thanks!!!
Good video, but please learn ur directions…. You seem to be confused about left/right when u enter the cemetery. And a little research would have made this a great video. Delta lives at Graceland after her husband died in mid 60’s til her death.
His grandfather Jesse is buried in Kentucky. He and his wife Minnie Mae (grandmother) got a divorce and went their separate ways. I don't know if he ever stayed in contact with Elvis and rest of the family or not.
I'm surprised at how many mistakes there are in this video. Normally it is not the back door, but the front door of the Mausoleum that is opened. You also drive past Gladys' former grave twice, but on the video you point in the completely wrong direction where she would have been. You also don't say anything about Bobbie Jane Ayers Wrenn, Elvis's niece, who is buried right next to Gladys' old grave, Bobbie's mother, Lillian, Gladys' sister, is also buried here. The large white cross in the Meditation Garden originally stood behind Gladys' grave. The concrete foundation of this is still visible.
Yes, I did make several mistakes in the video...I did not know about Elvis' niece or Gladys' sister being buried there but thank you for telling me. I'm learning about this vlogging thing and that I need to do more research and learn more before I do some of these videos. Anyways, thanks again for the information and thanks for watching!!!
The more i look up about elvis the more im astonished. I was born in 85. But my family loves elvis. The guy took care of everyone it looked like - family wise atleast. What saddens me is how no matter how important you are in life eventually we will all be forgotten or barely known to anyone. The guy that owned holiday inn is a great example of that. Doesnt look like anything is done for his grave or that anyone cares. I hope lisas daughter continues to pass down elvis legacy to her daughter and so on. Soon everyone that personally knew elvis will be gone. I often think about stuff like that. Priscilla went through so many changes in generation with technology i always wonder what Elvis would think of the stuff out now.
He did take care of everyone around him. He was a very humble guy. I believe Riley will continue to pass on the traditions and legacy to her kids and so on. But yea, most of his family and friends that knew him personally have passed on. Thanks for watching!!!
@@rockytoptraveler no problem. Imagine Elvis having a cell phone... Or even the new recording technology. His albums would have sounded even better. Truly was a shame that he died. Wonder if all of them are together now or if there's just nothingness when we leave
I would have thought that elvis would have been laid to rest back in his home state of miss. I knew he and family was buried at graceland. guess that is were they all wanted to be. would be much better sounding if you would please say past away instead of DIED. Thanks.
I don't know why they all wasn't buried in MS but like you said maybe they wanted to be buried in TN. As for being buried in Graceland, there initially wasn't any plans for that but after some people broke into the mausoleum and tried to get into Elvis crypt the Vernon decided to have both Gladys and Elvis buried at Graceland. Virgil was a railway worker, who died, precisely, in a railway accident. I had this information a few years ago and it also said that he was the father of the twins, Jesse and Elvis. Vernon, who liked Gladys and felt sorry for her, married her, so he could help her with the children.

She should have moved out in the 80’s..!! She was not an extremely personable woman!! I met her, and the 2 Edmond (dog) as well.
she told us she took care of Elvis dog until he died Miss Delta was holding her dog
Cool deal!
I'd like to know why Jesse was not removed to Graceland.
I watched a video of his graveyard in another cemetery.
Jesse (Elvis' twin) was buried by his father (Vernon) in an unmarked grave behind their Tupelo home so no one knows the exact location of his grave
