Today I take another nostalic and historic memory lane road trip. In this episode, I visit the famous gravesite of many country music legends and others who are laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.

I was in 8th grade and went to The Opry and I remember Hank Snow was on last , I saw folks in front seat leave and we went to the front and watched him do “Movin On”...Wonderful memories....

I really truly honestly do want to say that I am so very sorry that your mom fell . I really truly honestly do hope that she gets better,will remain with all of the family for a very long time to come pretty please,thank you for telling everyone about the famous people . so very sorry for your mom and you I was a caregiver for my mom for about 10 yrs, she passed away last Nov...with my sisters help we were able to keep her at home she was in the hospital only 4 days and passed on the 4th day she was 95. I really hope your mom a speedy recovery...I enjoyed seeing where the Stars of Country Music are buried.

What is the update
My Mom was a huge fan of Kitty Wells had all her albums and sang along with them countless times over the years. I didn't know Kitty Wells had a stroke, so did my Mom and now they can enjoy time together in Heaven.
I remember seeing Roy Acuff on the Grand Old Opry in 1975 when I was a kid! Loved him and your video!

Wow! That Scruggs memorial\headstone is very impressive - I love Foggy Mountain Breakdown! Best of luck to your mom's speedy and full recovery. It's a tough decision you're making, but probably is the right & only sane one at this time. Also, take good care of yourself in the meantime. It's so easy to neglect your own good will whilst worrying and fretting over someone else.

So sorry to hear about your mom and yes I do know how hard it can be with an ageing parent (my mum passed at 101). Make sure you take real good care of yourself. I have always wanted to go to Nashville and perouse the cemeteries. I love the Farm Boy monument. So sorry about your mom. Falls can be scary. Good thing you were there.

Tennessee Pride sausages are wonderfully good! I buy them for my Dad, and I cook them for him also. He’s 86 this coming Monday, and he loves them. We’re up in southeast Iowa. 🥰

My family and I saw Roy Acuff in person at Opryland in 1977. Bashful Brother Oswald was with him. We were on a family vacation in Nashville.

LOL, that's right. You were there last year too. I think we were there at around the same time. You uploaded your vlogs nearly a year ago and I'm just now a editing and uploading mine. I'm a little slow :-) Nashville cemeteries are like LA cemeteries, you definitely need multiple visits to see everyone there. You're lucky that you're so close. Thanks, Whitt!

Your mom is tough to go through that and still look well. I'm wishing her a speedy recovery. I've just got back from visiting my parents and grandparents graves in Ky., my original home state, and took the time to admire some of the ornate headstones that some of the graves had. One set of grandparents rest in a very old cemetery where these were at. I seen died dates of 1854 or so. Thanks for what you do.

Steve, your mom looks really good for 85. I hope she gets back on her feet soon and I also hope you can find a good home for her dog. That's got to be hard on her, having to give up her pet. 😔

Yes it is, my parents took care of me so i feel like it's my job. I lost mama to cancer 6 years ago and I kept her at home with the help of hospice untill the end.😥💔

Steve, Lots of prayers and good wishes to you, your mom, all of your family. It’s been almost a year since my mother fell and broke her shoulder...and it has been so very difficult. She is 90, will be 91 next month, and she has been diagnosed with dementia. We don’t leave her alone at all, so my brother, sisters and I all take turns. I am with her the most since I live here with her. I also try to work a full schedule, too, so, it’s pretty hard these days...but, I’m glad and honored to do it. Memory Lane Trips With Steve Yes, but, thankfully, she never had to be hospitalized or have surgery. It has been a long year, though, and now this Coronavirus wrinkle since March...I am sure you can relate. Be strong, my friend....all the best...
I visited Springhill last May also. It was another beautiful with a peaceful vibe. I also took a picture of the angel in the arch to the right of Roy Acuff’s grave. It was quite breath taking.

I really like the Scruggs monument. I have never heard of the farm boy before. It would be nice to get Kitty a better marker. Wow, your poor Mom. I'm glad you were able to be there when it all happened. She and you are certainly going thru a rough time. I hope you are able to find a good alternative soon and I also hope the transition goes smoothly.

A wish for your mom's speedy recovery. Watching this vlog and the mention of Roy Acuff propelled me back into the early 1940s and one my many stays with my grandmother's country family. Radio was the home entertainment media in those days and when the Grand Old Opry came on we gathered to listen. I vividly recall a broadcast with Roy Acuff performing the foot-patting "Night Train to Memphis." Thanks, Steve, for shaking loose such a pleasant memory.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My mom passed away last September. She was 83. She had a heart attack. My husband & I moved in with my 87 year old dad to take care of him. He's in fairly good health, so that's good. We just don't think he should be alone. Anyway, love the video as always.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom---thank goodness you were there. I found a lovely assisted living center for my Dad and it was the right decision, and it all worked out. I wish the same for your Mom .... she is blessed to have family that loves her so....

Steve, sorry to learn about your mom's fall. My mom also has a dog that has knocked her down several times. Fortunately it has not been severe. It is hard for them to give up their pets. Thanks for another great video. Your family is in our prayers.
So true. My mom says the only reason she is staying alive is because she doesn’t know who would take care of her pets when she’s gone ☹️ in her condition assisted living homes will not allow pets but there’s just no way she can stay at home anymore. I live in Western Kentucky and our groceries always carry Tennessee Pride sausage. It’s usually the brand I buy and my family likes it.
