- I install a 2014 Lexus IS-F power steering ECU into my 2012 and notate the differences between steering feel and handling.
89650-53041 for 2012 ECU
89650-53042 for 2013/2014 ECU - Авто та транспорт
Doing this tomorrow can't I
Wait. Got a 2011 ecu for my 08
Let me know what you think
Thanks for the video. I have an 09 and wasnt sure if the 13-14 ecu is worth the higher price.
You said in the video that the steering overall is lighter compared to before. Can you tell if it provides a bit more feedback from the tires? Especially around center mine does feel quite numb.
Few guys went from 08-09 to the 14 and said it was the best mod they did. Go for it!
What software used to calibrate?
Are you any where near California? I’d pay you to do some suspension work on my LS and ISF
Are you using a mini VCI cable or the more expensive Mongoose cable?
Want to install this ECU on my is250 but Im hearing alot of people say the mini VCI cable may cause me some problems. Mongoose cable will run me about 500 😑
Yea, just gotta bite the bullet
Is the part number in the description correct? Should it be 042 instead of 402?
fixed. youre right
Weird you had DTCs set. I had none when I did mine. The difference between the 2012 and 2014 is likely very subtle. The difference between the '08 and the '14 is dramatic. It was definitely one of the best things I have done to my IS F.
How dramatic are we talking? I've an 08 and wondering how much this is likely to cost and if it's worth it.
What program are you utilizing on the laptop to calibrate steering wheel?
techstream
what did you use to calibrate the ecu?
should say in the video, toyota techstream
Are the 2012+ compatible for isf 08?
yes, people install the new ecus for better handling and steering
Steering wheel was definitely not centered when you did the calibration lol.
1:40 it gets centered
Ok, so it is better if you want a luxury car like steering?
No, I wouldn't really say it's floaty, disconnected, or light in that regard if you were to compare it to a Lexus LS for example. I thought about it overnight and think the 2012 ECU has more "muddy" steering if that makes sense. Or if you would compare an older car with a manual rack to the same car with a power rack, that's more of how it feels. It's hard to put these kinds of things in words.
