I replaced mine without a hydraulic press. Amazon parts 20 bucks. It was a huge job. Broke my 3 ft breaker bar doing it!
Wow, nice work
Does it knock when you apply brakes or does it go away? I had to add shims to my pads. That helped.
I think I narrowed it down to the steering rack. It only happens at 1-3mph turning all the way. A nice $2000 repair of course
Was this the car from Ohio by chance?
Chicago
❤❤❤❤Very very nice. Congratulations on such a beautiful machine
Hi just wanted to ask you did you applied any dielectric grease in the gasket?
I usually use a ight coat of oil
can we use dielectric grease also?
@@kashiffriends10 No. Silicone grease is best. Dielectric can degrade the rubber
@@LILEVO thank you so much
You go so hard bro I love it🦾
Gotta do it right
Super cool video! How did you get it back, could you drive it home right away?
Yep, luckily I'm only about 10 miles from the port so I crossed my fingers and made it back. The cars clear customs before they arrive at the dock so once cleared you just go to the dock and get it.
Landcruiser, best thing to exist for 4x4, tanks that wont stop and will go millions of km's
It's such a unique truck to drive. You can immediately feel how well built it is
@LILEVO i drive a Hj45 which is an old ass landcruiser, built 45 years ago and still going hard mate
@@n8dagr881 Will be picking up a 95 HDJ81 in about a month at the same port
@@LILEVO damn can you send one down australia i need one bad haha

Did you pick this up from the port in National City? I didn't know you could do that
yep
any drone on the highway?
Has stock mufflers and an electronic cut out. Quiet as stock if the cutout is closed
So I tried this mic mod but went through all that trouble and now I get no mic. Tried diffrent microphones and no dice. I had an electrician buddy of mine do this with me in case I screw something up. He was puzzled that it didn't work. My radio does not have a gain option nor a option to choose external or internal mic. The internal mic that I removed was the only mic that ever worked. I even bought a USB mic and connected it to the USB of the radio and never worked either..... So frustrating.
Did you try putting back the original mic? If that no longer works there has to be a damaged trace. Follow or ohm out the two leads back to the main board and I'm sure you'll find something broken.
@LILEVO I was able to solder back the original microphone and it worked as before. Guess I'm just going to have to live with this.
@@undagroundrican which microphone did you try? It's a very simple and universal device. It sounds strange
Awesome!
I just got a 01 ls430 144,000 miles for 2600 needs a paint job & valve cover gasket
@@Crashout107 good price!
I think the better way might be to completely drain the pan and get as much out as you can first. Once this is done, measure the amount removed and pump back in the exact same amount and then proceed as shown in the video. Unless I have misunderstood something, you pumped fluid straight into a full pan of dirty fluid? Isn't it better to get all that out first to avoid too much mixing of old and new fluid?
You can do it this way, but by the time 12-16 quarts go through it's all going to be flushed out anyways. I don't know what happens inside the pan or how much fluid is coming back when pumping it out at the radiator. Is the pan emptying when the car is running or is dirty fluid being pumped back into the pan at all times?
@ So by removing the line from the radiator, you have interrupted the flow back to the pan. So when you pump back into the pan, it stays clean. For this reason I just thought it’s best to drain completely first. I did this same thing on my 2013 Toyota Highlander and I think this method you’re showing is the best.
@robertr9372 what does it matter then for the first refill? The pan would be empty after that first purge then you're filling an empty pan. There wouldn't be any dirty fluid in there
Good work man. But please use real jack stands.
Yea I do if I go under the car at all. This was hard because the jack was where the jackstand would go
I have the vlite2 on my 460 and on occasion I wish I had the vline2
What is missing from it? Voice navigation/recognition, what else?
@LILEVO it just is straight Apple Car Play or Android Auto. Where the vLine2 is a stand alone android system that doesn't need a phone. If a vLine3 ever launches I'll upgrade to that if they make one for my vehicle
@@chrishamby86 Do you have to enter destinations on your phone then? Can't use the touchscreen?
@@LILEVO I use the touchscreen. It is the same as the vLine2 but requires the phone connected (wired or wirelessly) just like it would be in a new factory car with AA or CP. The vLine2 is stand alone. It would work (albiet with no internet) if no phone was present. The vLite2 requires a phone to run AA or CP.
Do you have the next video talking about the torque specs for the head bolts and sequence? I can’t find an actual manual like the one you show in the video talking about the valves to save my life.
Here you go bit.ly/SDK8-cyl-tq
Man, I installed a AliExpress decoder that was recommended to me from someone on the forums. I’m beyond happy with it. Same concept as Grom, but it’s Linux based so it doesn’t require updates. It plugged into my audio jack that I tucked underneath my console and the sound quality is just as good. I have an 08’ LS460 btw. Paid about $400. I would bet that they have them for the 430’s .
nice, have a link?
@@LILEVO and to anyone who might order this unit, let the seller know whether or not you Lexus has ML audio. Also ask for a video of the installation so you can decide if you are comfortable with the complexity. You have to disassemble the Navi down to the display board.
Ntk is sensors my guy. Nsk is bearings. Ngk ignition components. Nok are seals.
thanks. It was a long day
Could I reach out to you about my suspension issues? I've got 03 ls430

You just needed to pull the pin on the timing belt tensioner when you had everything lined up the first time and then turn the crankshaft a couple revolutions and confirm you are still in time. You got off a tooth because of the slack in the timing belt from not engaging the tensioner from the get go. Glad you got it figured out and checked your work.
@@johnfloyd4243 looks like the tensioner will just pull the RH cam back a half tooth. The LH cam is still a full tooth off after that

Yes... dark fluid... yes high mileage!! Love mine!! and half the mileage but has serious cosmetic flaws. Ready to fix though... The mechanical aspect of this vehicle is next level. Buy one, own one.. find one!! single best vehicle purchase of a lifetime!! And I've owned 40 vehicles spanning 3 decades from Volkswagen to 2020 Avalon Hybrid... sold the later to get some better older vehicles... 2011 Lexus ES350 (2GR) and 2002 (4.7 2UZ) Toyota Tundra... both Japanese excellence! and just purchased a 2005 Lexus LS430.... will do my fluid change as follows with 155k.... not sure if its the first for the vehicle but a drain and fill and run through all gears for 20 minutes... another drain and fill and drop pan and change filter... then refill and run for 15 to 20K miles. Then run regular maintenance! If the tranny is toast? then no amount of fluid will fix it but if its good?? then it should restore some long term goodness!! A rather bullet proof transmission if treated correctly.. Aisin and the same brand of timing belt kit will send these vehicles another 20 years.... Fascinating fact is that Ford built model T's and this from the 20's and I still see them going down the road.... This is such a superior motor/vehicle in my opinion.... it will outlast me... And I'm okay with that.....
Holy crap, I hope I never have to pull my Celsior's motor... That looks like the biggest PITA engine out job ever. Last engine I pulled was a 2g Eclipse and that took 4 hours tops by myself.
More fun times and engine surprises coming in the upcoming videos!
The ISF sold for 25,000? damn... that was a deal for the buyer, a near mint well maintained, garage-kept 2012 with 2014 suspension and steering ECU... how much did you want/did you have it listed for? END OF AN ERA. 😢
40k originally with the full S/C kit installed. Removed the S/C kit then 35k. Then 32, then 30, then 28, then 26. Just sat with zero interest from anywhere.
@@LILEVOvery interesting. I’m in Ireland and I’ve a 2008 is f with a full Lexus dealer service history and a lot of nice upgrades. Ie headers, cat back, engine mounts, Grom Vline, 2012 suspension and i wanted 26500 euro for it. Absolutely no interest aside from two guys, one of whom is back interested offering me €23k. Maybe I should just take it as these don’t seem to be that desirable.
Also, I’m thinking of an LS for my next car. Possibly a 2014 F sport 600h imported from Japan. Or else a 430 if I can find one. What do you think about going from an ISF to an LS? I’ve never had a flagship luxury car before.
@@MD-uu5nt I have 2 LS430s (2001 and 2005) and a 2007 LS460 now. The 460's cost thousands to maintain, but really are the better, more refined car. More comfortable, better features, quieter, smoother. The 430's are as reliable as a Camry and also as cheap to repair. They are still luxurious and quiet, but not as much as a 460. LS430/460 are just point A to B cars. Forget about being sporty, fast, or having good handling. IS-F or GS-F for that.
Only $25,000?!?! Someone got that for a steal
That's the market these days. The next best offers were 20k.
@ these are slept on. It will be a classic one day
@@PJSnow23 No one could get over the mileage. It seems once they hit 100k no one wants them anymore, especially the IS-F owner groups.
@@LILEVOwhich is crazy considering how many videos show these cars are well capable of 300,000 miles with little maintenance.
@@MD-uu5nt I know it. Can't change people's minds or opinions though.
I’m going to replace my fuel pump gaskets because my O2 sensor was throwing codes from oil leak. But I noticed a large amount of oil on some of my ignition coils as well from the fuel pump leaks. Do you think I should replace my coils, too? Also - Lexus told me they recommended replacing upstream and downstream O2 sensor at once. Should I replace downstream as well? I didn’t realize how expensive OEM ignition coils/O2 sensors are.
Nope, I wouldn't touch the coils if you don't have codes. They are made to last a very long time and are sealed. The oil leaks do drip directly on the upstream O2 sensors so it's possible they went bad and should be replaced. Downstream can be changed easily at a later time. No sense in changing them unless you have codes for them.
@@LILEVO I’m smelling a hint of gasoline in my dip stick immediately after I had codes for the O2 sensor- You think the gasoline smell is from the bad O2 sensor making my car run too rich/lean?
@@ibrahimi220 Could be. It can smell that way also if the car is only doing short trips, or it's been awhile since the last oil change. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
@ I appreciate your quick response. I share all your videos with all my Lexus groups online. Hope it helps the channel! Thanks again
@@ibrahimi220 every little bit helps!
Is that a stock headunit thwt you got from ebay?
yes
Very cool. One of the rarest factory configurations on any Leuxs. I think the option was only available from '92-94 on the ES300?
1992 1993 only. Maybe 1500 ever made? Few hundred left in the world?
@LILEVO Awesome. Nice find
My favorite part was when you showed us how to change them
32. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE CLAMP BRACKET (a) Using a clip remover, detach the wiring clamp.
Amazing work... do you have a listing of the part numbers? could you put them in the description? Thanks so much for your videos. You definitely help me out.
