- Опубліковано 10 лип 2024
- This is a passive steering damper upgrade for the 2006-2013 IS250 and IS350. Its a simple upgrade that provides a counter balance and reduced vibration in steering wheel. These came stock on IS-F and convertibles but the IS250 and IS350 didn't get it. Its a quick 5 minute install.
The OEM part number is 45713-53020 for the damper.
The also have it listed under 45713-12080 which came on the convertibles.
The two screws are 90159-50199 (Toyota or Lexus Dealer for $1)
These can be found on eBay ebay.to/3sCfso2
or your local Lexus Dealer.
Check my previous Techstream Video detailed info on diagnostics.

Can you feel the difference?
Nothing earth shattering. I think it’s mostly for vibration reduction and counter weight for steering wheel rotation.
Tuner with Kids oh I see
@@TunerwithKids why not do the isf steering ecu upgrade? It is such an amazing upgrade that gives confidence with the handling.
@@chouavue10, money...ISF ECUs are like $300 to $500.
@@TunerwithKids i found one at the junk yard for $200 had to call a lexus scrapyard shop in la I got so lucky but overall it is definetly worth it especially the 53041 isf 2011 one. if you ever do please make a video on it as no one is aware of how awesome the upgrade is . :)
Did this mod over a year ago after watching this but forgot to leave a like... so thanks for the tutorial!
Love the videos man! Learning a lot for my 08 IS250
Glad you like them!
Yooooooo that’s crazy I’m high as fuck right now and I was just thinking about how there’s no vids on the dampener upgrade on UA-cam lmao thank you so much bro 💪🏽
Love the video, thanks for the idea of changing the LED’s too! Glad to know it’s possible - keen for a chance to win a shirt
Yea my LED change was very old school, many of the white LED didn't exactly match. But the blue LED look awesome.
I just ordered my dampeners 🤟🏼
Great shirt!
Helpful video!
Good info🤙
Love the lights for your climate audio controls, way better than green lol.
Yea I did those back in 2009. There’s a ClubLexus post where I showed all the details. My stuff is near the middle and end, username “sinister2c“ but coincidentally another user “Binh” posted a more detailed and P/N thread a few years after. www.clublexus.com/forums/www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=409327

Hey man thanks for the walk through!, Just letting you know, I think Torx T30 fits better that T27.
Great video and great mod suggestion! Going to try it out on my 2011 is350 for sure! Thank you for the info.
Just fyi - The solar sensor circuit code will clear if you pull the car outside during the day, and rescan it in the sunlight (sometimes you don't even need direct sunlight).
Check if the 2011+ already has one. Someone mentioned it might have it.
@@TunerwithKids Oh really? That would be cool. I will check for sure 👍
Yea the airbag is easy just two 27 torx screws and slides out.
@@TunerwithKids I actually have one of those flat bottom steering wheels with the carbon fiber on top...however when I swapped it out a couple yrs back, I never even bothered to pay attention to whether it had a weight on it or not. It probably did I just didn't think anything of it. Makes perfect sense though - I swapped in a heavier Land Cruiser steering wheel on my 86 4Runner, and it made a world of difference!
Great video and theres so many things I want to do to my 08 IS250. It needs a paint correction and dash door panels replaced.
Go for it. Use some of my knowledge on these vids.
You should do a video on how to install techstream it's been giving me a hard time on windows 10! But other than that love your vids man!
I have a new machine being built, I will have to install TIS on it so I may record the process.
You can't run via win 10 . Download vbox and run via windows xp. Will not limit anything that way or picked up as pirated software
Any improvement during turning or does it still feel the same? Also if you can do a RR racing tune for the 2is in the future that would be awesome. Till then keep on tuning love the videos.
Mostly vibration reduction but nothing drastic in steering or turning.
dammit Binh! I'm trying to save money! I want this now.
This is cheap. The ISF steering ECU, that’s different story. $500.
do you have sat radio? does the sat radio button work? i have an 06 is350 and my sat button doesnt bring anything up, its got gps and the mark levinson.
im wondering what i need to make the sat button work like factory, retrofit
Sat radio was optional add on for early years. 07+ used shark fin. 06 needed a nub antenna on trunk.
Great video is that a new steering wheel? It looks perfect or is that original?
Original 2007. I take good care of my interior.
@@TunerwithKids that’s hot!
Your steering wheel,
Did it come with the car or did you installed it aftermarket? How did you change the light to leds?
It’s the original 2007 steering wheel. I did all the LED change like in 2009 to white and blue in the car. My stuff starts around page 6, my username is “sinister2c” www.clublexus.com/forums/www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?page=5&t=418761
The damper is standard on my GS350(S190).
Yuming Huang , I saw that GS had one too. The P/N was slightly different and a few grams more than the IS-F/IS-x50C version.
Does this fix that heavy/awkard steering feel when you’re doing slight turns at higher speeds? Where it feels like it’s pulling away from the direction you’re trying to turn the wheel.
Not really. It’s for the vibration and acts as a counterweight. To fix the problem you described, may need to upgrade to a $500 ISF Steering ECU.
Do you still experiencing this problem? I have the same issue. I have changed everything in suspension to fix that..
did you do the led swap on your center console? if so how difficult was it
It was a nightmare especially since I did it 11 years ago. Back when LED chips were hard to find and match colors. There’s a thread on ClubLexus and a few links in these comments.
My 06 IS350 parking brake dash light doesn't come on when using. Do you know what might went wrong?
The switch for it might be unplugged or broken. Look at the top of the pedal.
@Binh Nguyen-Tuner with Kids
I bought one! Does it come with screws or I need to buy it separately? Thank you!
You need two screws, they aren’t common ones either.
@@TunerwithKids Where I can get the two screws? I already bought the damper.
Probably dealer. Or you can try to find some that match thread at hardware.
I have an issue with my steering wheels buttons and cruise control. None of them work and sometimes when I steer in which ever direction it would change my aux to cd mode, or go into radio mode. Just a huge issue with the whole steering section. Airbag light is on btw. Sometimes car starts to rev up by its self so it can be pretty scary sometimes. Any information helps thanks
You have issue with your clock spring on steering hub. Probably pinched wire or ribbon cable.
@@TunerwithKids Ty so much, I’ve never been able to get answer. Any tips on how I should go about doing this?
Probably order a used one.
I have a damper coming any day and was wondering what screw size it takes?
IDK, I ordered mine with the screws back in the day.
How does the steering feel? With and without the shirt
10 HP with the shirt on, -5 HP when I'm topless.
Hey Charles, you won the shirt on this video. Email me your address and I'll send it. I only have L.
@@TunerwithKids Sounds good... It should fit unless the Covid 19 pounds found me
The AC passenger solar sensor fault has come up because you are using TechStream after sun down! ie in the dark! Basically The sensor cannot detect the Sun.
Oh that makes total sense.
Tuner with Kids connect your TechStream up when the sun is out and all should be good👍
