- Currently the fastest production car in the Lexus line-up, the IS F is a formidable competitor to it's German classmates. Naturally, Justin takes the 416 hp, V- 8 performance tuner to the track to experience its full range of capabilities unhindered by traffic and the rules of the road. Of course, this trip comes with a twist. As the sun sets, Justin lights up the flares, turning an ordinary safety tool into something considerably less safe, only as the crew at World's Fastest Car Show can.

0-60mph in 6 seconds? That can't be right. Every other motoring media outlet and lexus themselves claim 4.6 seconds.
Alex Zevallos Correct, what I mentioned aswell. They generally achieve 0-60 in 4.6secs. This journalist needs a sacking.
I’ve seen bone stock cars do 4.2 but most the time it’s 4.8-5 seconds, the first gear goes to around 40 mph I think so it has alot to do with if the shift is quick or not

Lexus might say that's the time but it might not actually be. Real world times aren't always the same. But 6 seconds is a bit ridiculous. They must have not tried very hard.
Justin, my Chrysler 300 with a 5.7L Hemi can do it in 5.2.
That is my best in my 2013 R/T Plus manual. Also a 5.7 Hemi. Tons of wheel spin in first though so I think I can still do better :)

The 0-60 is NOT 6 seconds. My mom has the 2008 IS 350 with a 4.8s 0-60.
The 2008 Lexus ISF does 0-60 in 4.2 sec., and the 2008 IS350 does 0-60 in 5.1 sec. stock according to Car & Driver. Quarter-mile time: 13.7 sec at 104 mph; quite fast for a $36,670 car (at the time).
it depends on the level of attitude and air density as well..in some place e.g 1 mile above sea level, cars tend to accelerate slower than factory claimed
Props to Lexus for making an exciting and RELIABLE machine.. the two things are usually exclusive.
I was starting to get the feeling that Motortrend is starting to let it slip in the quality of their content, and now this video just makes this hunch even bigger.

They posted the wrong time. The slowest time the Lexus IS-F got from 0-60 is around 4.3 seconds and the fastest was 4.1 seconds.
It's not wrong, they show real world stats. They don't launch the car instead they just mash the gas pedal.
Actually I believe it’s due to elevation beyond sea level. With naturally aspirated engines they typically produce better 0-60 times closer to sea level

The best about this part about this car is about it's every day practicality/reliability, but with a v8 that out preforms most sedans in it's class.

MotorTrend is in vacation mode. Who would put up the wrong 60 times that are a couple seconds off and no mention of this car being as last year run. This is lexus technology from 6-7 years ago. I don't get this one?

Wow! Really unique feature. Apparently the IS F can be converted from LH steering to RH quite easily (1:38).

This is the right car. They did not mistake the models. For whatever reason, Lexus decided to use the old body style for the IS F. It is speculated that 2015 will showcase and IS F Coupe and Sedan in the new body style. Also, the 0-60 is not 6 seconds it's 4.6.
I like the ISF and that they did not open the front fascia like the GS. But what was with the video at 1:38 and 2:26 ? Right hand drive?...haha

They continued on with the old design for the IS-F for one last year before it's discontinued to make way for the RC-F for 2015.

The information about the 0-60 is wrong.
What a lot of you forget is ALTITUDE can cut as much as 1 second off your 0-60 time. Not sure where they tested the time but you act like you don't drive cars

The Lexus IS F for 2014 looks different, I was sitting in IS --F a few weeks ago and this is not the car and I typed in goggle, this video youtube title and it gave me the same car as I test drove, which is different from this video, so, somethings here is wrong??????

For all you know it all's, the isF is the fastest production car in the Lexus line up, notice the key word "production" since the LFA isn't in production anymore. He didn't say the isF is the fastest car Lexus has ever made.

I liked styling on the original ISF when it was more aggressive and boyracer-y.
no doubt this guy has more driving talent in his left foot than I do in my whole body. That said, the fact that this segment is still on, and will be back for a next season, makes no sense to me :/
Lexus ISF starts off with 4.2 secs in 2008 and then becomes slower by the year and becomes 4.5 to 4.6 secs. Where did you get 6 secs ?

It is, indeed, roughly 4.5 seconds. Motortrend even got similar numbers themselves in their Ignition episode on the IS-F. I don't know what happened in this video.

Saw one off visiting you old home deeeeep in the woods. It was bumping down a dirt road making me cry. Had to be a big meth dealer. In all the years I lived out there the nicest thing I saw would be a new 30k car. I didn't even like driving our LX470 down that dirt road and it is built for rocks not pebbles from the ground up.

It's not damaged that's the design. It's an air extractor. Has one on both side just behind the front wheels. Google "lexus is-f fender".

This isn't the fastest production car Lexus make they have a car called the LFA??? Perhaps you have heard of it
LFA ended production in 2012, and they only sold 500, not really production at those numbers, more like custom.
noredcr Uran myth has it, the LFA cost more to build than to buy. Lexus did it to prove something, that's all.
