This movement was introduced to me 30 years ago as a warm up to a Thai Qui form I learned and still practice. Teacups is a good name. Dancing in my kitchen I play teacups 😂 I’ve practiced resistance exercise just as long. I feel the slow Thai Qui and Qui Gong practice I do compliments the mind body connection . Nice work mate. I enjoyed your body wave video. Thanks for your work.
As a Filipino, I enjoy seeing aspects from my culture appearing in different spheres. There is an entire dance involving this movement called "Panddanggo sa Ilaw" aka "the Candle dance". Check it out if you've time!
I first saw this exercise on ZackHenderson's channel and was amazed at the instant benefits I've felt after performing it. That motivated me to explore the movement further and made me stumble upon your channel. After watching this video, I'll be sure to check out your other videos as well. Quality content, great presentation!
Hi Phaon, this is a great exercise. I tend to have tight shoulders and doing this helps loosen them up. I noticed that my mobility is greater now. And like you mentioned, it makes me feel good after doing it. I'm still working on the last one. Coordination is not quite right yet. :) What is the history/background of this exercise? Is it from one of the martial arts? Thanks for sharing this.
Hey Erwin, thanks! Yes the history can be found in place such as Chinese martial arts baguazhang and other Wushu contexts. I'm sure other cultures also discovered this movement, so worth researching in other areas too!
Thank you for a detailed lesson
