Thank you Mark for sharing this experience it is so informative and knowledgeable. I enjoyed it since I’ll never will get to see this in my life. Love it.
My favourite show yet. Mark, the metal fork isn’t exempt because it can break the eels , I can assure you the wood would be just as damaging but no, the wood is neutral and doesn’t quickly heat up when touching hot foods which could effect taste or texture but also they don’t chemicals react to acidic foods. With a dish this expensive one needs to add all the finer points to accompany the atmosphere and this is why they provide the wooden forks. A palette with extraordinary taste buds might know the difference between the two but in a place like this they can’t take any chances.
Mark and Jeffrey together is dangerous, they make me want to get up and run to Spain without planning or saving. I need to be there now!!!! I love their facial expressions after tasting the food. Bro a restaurant like that is legendary. Like they say, if it ain't broken don't fix it. They perfected their menu and will keep making the same great tasting food for as long as they are around. Have to add this place on my bucket list for sure!
Just to be clear here. Baby eels, angulas in Spanish is one of the world's most coveted delicacies and costs in Spain anywhere between 1000 and 2000 euros per kilo retail price depending on season, origin and quality and quantity of produce. Great choice of wines also (Kudos to Jeffrey) and surprised to see Botín makes little profit over them compared to their retail price. Welcome to Spain!

I don't personally like oysters for example, but I'm not telling anyone, that they don't miss much if they're not ordering them in a restaurant, because who am I to tell, if they would enjoy of them or not.
Great to hear that Susan, really an amazing restaurant. Eels were delicious, but very pricey.
@@micarone Like I said my opinion is they didn't miss anything and out of all of the friends ,high school, college, work, and I was a line cook I've never heard any of them rave over eel or have yet to ever be served it out any of their homes or any cookout I've ever been so I'd say not getting a bite of eel wasn't a travesty or missing out ,also let's think about the comment they didn't order it if it was so good would of been order first not on the wish I'd of Andrew Zimmermaned it since I was in Spain have a nice day clown , we're all aloud to have opinions not just your self ,you do know opinions are like a.h we all have one .
@@dmac7403 Well... To be exact, you didn't say "in my opinion" in your original comment. You only said "You didn't miss much".
Not "You didn't miss much, in my opinion."
Hence the difference...
And as far as I can understand, they didn't order the eels just because they were pricey and they were on a budget.
Not because they wouldn't been liking them.
That seating downstairs, the whole tour of the restaurant, just amazing!! This is definitely the type of place too where its great to go with Jeffrey. Man what a day! Awesome video homie.
We missed you Joel!
You’re the best, Mark. I truly admire your channel. You’ve taught me so much.
well done Mark with this series of your food exploration! You made me fall in love with Spain!
Mark, it’s great to see my city featuring in one of your videos! I hope you enjoyed your time here! 🙌🏻
every parts of Spain are amazing bro, wish i could go there one day!
Esos madrileños que se nos sienta! 👍
I love Jeffrey. He is very passionate about food. His big fried platter video with Mark is one of the videos that I occasionally search and watch.
Went to Botin on Friday. Loved it. We had the pig but my favourite though was the lamb. So flavourful. Also really enjoyed their cheesecake for dessert
I love it that Mark shows different delicious cuisines from all over the world through his videos! What a delight!
I love Spain! So glad you are back!
Increíble la gastronomía española 👈
*WOW...The oldest restaurant...That's an awesome experience...Thanks for sharing it with us* ✨☺✨
That part of the restaurant dates from 1590 as Luis mentioned. Amazing 😻
Wonderful video of Casa Botin. Many heads of states and historical personages had enjoyed dining there, but even more interesting, perhaps, is that the great artist, Francisco de Goya worked as a waiter at Botin while awaiting entrance to the Academy of Fine Arts.
Salute to the Filipino chefs of Botin! ❤
Mabuhay to our Kababayan chefs!
FIiipinos are Masters of the Cochinillo 👏👏👏
Wow, that is incredible. Just amazing place. Would love to eat there, 300 years old. The history. Great video mark!
It’s very expensive eat there, befor the food was better, but now many tourists go there, is not the same 😅
I’ve had the honor of eating here a few times with my father as a child and now as an adult. Everything on the menu is to die for especially the cochinillo (my daughters began to cry at this moment)
Thank you so much, glad this brings back great memories for you and your family.
This is now on my bucket list of food tours! Awesome!!!
This man let me have glimpses of places and foods which I may never witness in my entire lifetime. Really those old wine bottles gave me goosebumps. Was kind of a time traveling for me. Thank you Mark Lots of Love from India ️️

Surely it must be morally reprehensible and feel wrong to order and indulge in suckling pig to even the most casual of meat eaters. A very young piglet just born into this world, snatched away from its mother while still feeding from her nipples, to be slaughtered for human consumption. Think about that, now change the piglet to a baby...Shame on you Mark! You have no compassion, empathy or morals! 😡
Eats like an animal, enjoys
I love seeing the expression of both of you after every bites. I hope i will make it into Spain one day. 🇲🇾
Spain rocks....thank you!!!!
Hello! Mark This has to be one of my favorites thus far because of the history and watching you and Jeffrey enjoy and really project the Love and taste of the food! If I ever travel that far, this would be my first place of travel. Thank you!

Wow amazing place and cooking style is authentic. 300 years old 😱. Lots of legends had meals over there. Great video Mark. Big fan of your work! ❤️❤️❤️
This is one of your most fascinating videos to date Mark! wow 🙏 The kitchen in this place looks so ancient, and the vibe in the dining room seems so special. Also, it's a crime how delicious the suckling pig and eel both look, even through my little phone screen. The crispy pig skin, the flavor that's oozing out... Criminal I say!
Thank you very much, really appreciate your amazing support!

Thank you Mark for sharing this experience it is so informative and knowledgeable. I enjoyed it since I’ll never will get to see this in my life. Love it.
I love it too 😊
My favourite show yet.
Been a long time, Mark, nice to have you back, I always enjoy the variety of food menus you present to us
Mark I started my bucket list after watching this video to eat at Botin! Wow!!
Hi Mark !!!! Thank You So Much for Going to MY CITY → MADRID ! I Have Been in This Restaurant So Many Times in My Life ! THANK YOU AGAIN !
Mark and Jeffrey together is dangerous, they make me want to get up and run to Spain without planning or saving. I need to be there now!!!! I love their facial expressions after tasting the food. I have to check out Jeffrey channel.
Marks chin through out the whole Spain series, let’s you know the food is amazing.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FAST FOOD IN UMUAHIA?

Not without reason though, adult eels can also be considered pretty high end/luxury food
Son Angulas, las gulas es otra cosa que no se parece nada y que cuestan 5€, por algo será 😅
