You are just the greatest!! 😀 Nobody more entertaining and loveable presenting food and presenting Spain!! I’m Miguel Barrios, my father is Spanish and my mother is German - I live in Germany and you always succeed in transporting me to my beloved Spain! Especially with the live tapas crawls during the pandemic.😀 Keep up the good work!
Always thrilled to see a new video on this channel and what a bonus, Yoli's back! 🥰 We missed you. Thank you both for all of them, you've enhanced my trips to Spain immeasurably. I've even started Spanish lessons recently so i can improve beyond my current 'menu Spanish' !😂
Hi James and Yoly - I love this video! I've been watching your channel for a few years now and I genuinely think that it's one of the best food and travel-related channels, not just in terms of content, variety and information, but also fun. Too many UA-camrs spend their time trying to look and sound totally serious about things, or too hyper and "super excited" (as an English teacher I really want to inform them that this is not how to use the word "super") and it just doesn't work. You two clearly really enjoy what you do, and enjoy spending time together - you are fun and interesting to watch. And yes, James, you ARE both fascinating :-)
I am at 81-year-old male that was born in Brooklyn and have been a fan of pastrami all of my life. There is a significant difference between Katz’s and a pastrami sandwich served with Havarti cheese. You do not get a cheese pastrami sandwich in Katz’s. You do get cheese with a Reuben sandwich and you also get Russian dressing. I imagine it’s whatever floats your boat. I now live and have lived in Palo Alto for the last 50 years. There is a pastrami desert here. I have to go to San Francisco or berserklyto get a decent pastrami sandwich
James - I repeat - you have married above your station - well done. WRT this video - than you for the shared experience. I love the Asian noodles segment!! I really appreciate that you have invited the world into your world and the experience that is Madrid. Machinimas gracias!
A massive thank you for all your videos and your work in general! I enjoy your content so much, 'cause it's so cozy and informative, tasty and welcoming. Thank you again and keep doing your thing, James and Yoli!
I'm not a fan of big cities, but the one thing I love is the variety and quality of food you can find. I am going to search out all of this the next time we pass through Madrid.
Ok, New Yorker chiming in here. That pastrami sandwich looks awesome, but can't really compare it to the classic New York version. They're re-grilling the meat, throwing on tons of other stuff/cheese. A classic jewish deli Pastrami after all it goes through is sliced, put on rye bread and has brown deli mustard. That's it. In this case you're eating something totally different, a newer evolved Spanish/NYC hybrid. Looks fantastic though ;)
Great to see you both on your 'date' ;-) Hope you are well (and your daughter). As always, I love watching your content! Nice to see Madrid embracing a wide variety of food cultures. I will leave with an old Irish blessing: 'May your channel content be seen, appreciated, liked and subscribed by many - globally' ;-) Tony
This market looks amazing, and it alone is a reason for me to go back to Madrid soon. I have only watched the first place in your video yet, and its bringing back good memories, from many years ago, where I had empanadas for the first time (when I was learning spanisch in Madrid). I look forward to enjoy more food online. Thanks James and Yoly.
I love markets like this, you can make a day of it having great food and shopping for the freshest ingredient's to take home and maybe recreate something you tried at the market. Always great to see Yoli, your other half. She must be quite busy with Lucia, the two’s and three’s are very emotional shall we say😉. James, wonderful tour with some delicious dishes, thank you for taking us along.💕👍
I've watched so many of your videos for our trip to Spain and I've got to celebrate here how remarkable a couple you both are on camera, what amazing chemistry with each other! What a team! So happy I SUBSCRIBE to your channel. ❤Thumbs up! Brilliant!❤
Great vid! Love the usual showcasing on traditional Spanish cuisine, but think it's really good to highlight the international variety and options available as well!
¡Me encantan vuestros vídeos! Soy española y siempre descubro cosas nuevas gracias a vosotros.
I started watching videos about Spain after finding out im part spanish, lmao. My Great Grandfather was spanish. My grandfather is 50% and my father is 25%. I barely have any spanish blood but its still fun to learn about new cultures.
Thank you so much for this beautiful video ! What would we do without the two of you ? One of the very best channels on You Tube, which offers much more than delectable food and Dionysian beverages ! If I could travel again, I would definitely book a tour with you guys. I would just stick to one Spanish city and get to know it as you show me around. I'm very sad that I can't do this anymore due to losing most of my eyesight from the Astra Zeneca vaccine. I would love to go to that old restaurant where the 90 year old owner still serves his customers. I saw it on your channel, James, and on Mark Weins channel. Still, your videos are a great consolation. My heartfelt thanks to you both !
You two are too cute and I love food from Spain. Spain has been making some really good genre films as well as S Korea and I always look forward too anything from Spain.
I have so many places to go now when I go to Madrid next April or October (still need to research the weather). I'll also go to one of your tapas and churros recommendations.
My best food experiences have largely been in Spain... that isn't to say i haven't eaten great food in many other countries...but the originality and execution of food - from Spain and from all over world - that I have eaten in various Spanish cities is extraordinary. I've had steak like no other in Madrid and Malaga...Sushi in Malaga that that was on par with anything in London or New York...Indian food in Madrid that was the best I've eaten...Chinese food in Madrid and San Sebastian that was unbelievable. And that's not even talking about the tapas and seafood I've had in Seville and Malaga or the extraordinary pintxos I've eaten in San Sebastian and Bilbao...or the Michelin 3 star restaurants in San Sebastian and Madrid that are the best example of that type of food I have ever eaten. Spain is - imo - the best food country in the world...the only thing it lacks (or i havent seen) is top quality Malaysian, Thai or Vietnamese cuisine.
I would like to see a second visit to the markets you shopped at during Covid. I thought those places were so fascinating. I hope that they are all doing well.
James and Yoly, thanks for sharing all the food looked amazing. I'm guessing there are enough food stalls there to make a complete series? If yes I'd love to follow along with you! Much ❤ to you both and your daughter!
We love your video content in general, and I agree that it is great to see Yoli once again. After seeing this one we gave the pastrami place a try today. I have to say that while the food was decent, the pastrami was really dry, and no one makes a reuben (or New York Pastrami, as they call it) on that bread. It's rye bread or nothing. My husband had a cheddar and bacon burger that was so salty it was barely edible. Maybe we went on an off day? The sauce they served with the aperitivo was the best thing on the table. Also, pretty pricey for 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks, in comparison to the rest of Madrid. We may go back to the Korean because passing by it looked and smelled amazing.
Sorry you had that experience. Before our visit, I had read a few reviews that talked about the pastrami being dry but ours wasn’t at all. The sandwich was very juicy. Maybe an off day as you say

Looks so good. All the good food seems to be en el centro. Dios. Looks like my family and I have plans next weekend lmao. Edit: we ended going to 9 lives. An American pie place near the market so for dinner we stopped at the market to eat dinner. Craft 19 didn't disappoint and Kitchen 154 had the longest line so we'll go next time. We tried Mila&Co and that was so good. Definitely recommended them as well. Thanks James and Yoly. This video came at the perfect time.
Wonderful to see the resurrection of this market. We must not allow such places to die. The supermarkets can not be allowed to always get their own way.
I went to this market on a Saturday for lunch in December 2024. Full of life and vendors but I have to say I was disappointed with the Empanadas stand of Gloria. The empanadas looked old it was actually the only stand that had no one eating at those tables. I ate at one called Campo grande? Great service and food was good (they had various types of steaks and for 4 euros they grill it there)
We're heading for Italy in May 2025, but may head up to Madrid for a few days at the end of our vacation. We'll definitely check out this place. The food looks amazing.
Great to see you finally ventured out beyond Spanish cuisine, something I've recommended to you for several years. We've been to the original Bian Biang location several times as it's on our "go-to" list every time we're in Madrid. Now go to Mazal Bagel for what we feel might be the best bagel/lox sandwich even by NY standards.
It was fun enjoying your 'date night' Yoly you are gracious and beautiful but James owes you a 'one on one' romantic one ... mean time keep doing these 🤩 love from NZ xx
New Yorker here. Grew up with Pastrami. Have been around the globe eating lots of tasty things. Love this channel. Having some European guy telling me how some random tiny tapas place in Madrid serving a modern take on a classis Pastrami blows Katz out of the waters is crazy. I mean, you would have to have tried Katz's a bunch of times and maybe even grown up in an Italian or Jewish household in NYC to even know how it should taste, but OK, you go for it dude.

Or Madrid! All it takes is a ticket from SFO to Barajas …
Bay Area native here and I’m super curious to hear your opinion on Saul’s in “Berserkly.” I have nothing to compare it to.
James - I repeat - you have married above your station - well done.

How fun it is, that this video appears in my feed, and this market is literally down my street where I live… Spain is the best

Yep it’s in there :)
Our pleasure!
Oh I wish I knew about this market when I went to Madrid but now I know for next time. Nice to see you guys enjoying your date. 😊

And also Camilo Sesto!!!

I'll be in Madrid next weekend! Great timing of this video. I can't wait to try all of these!
