Imagine being only 2 years old in 1993 and your favorite album ever was released in March of that year (The Cranberries debut) and a few months later your favorite movie was released (Jurassic Park). All those frames, those scenes, the soundtrack and the dialogues, all of it is deeply nostalgic and endearing to me

I'm so happy you chose Jurassic Park as your number 1. Very few films had the impact on me this did. When he first looks up and sees the Brachiosaurus and falls to his knees I fell to mine. Thank you for the video!!! I'm impatiently waiting for more. Till next time enjoy!
Yeah - I love Short Cuts from Robert Altman - it's one of his best films(my favourite is The Player), incredible cast and the way it just shows a slice of life in LA from the early 1990s - in all its chaotic and very messy glory. I'd probably add both Shadowlands and The Remains of the Day - as I think they feature two of Anthony Hopkins' finest performances, as well as being very compelling dramas.

Nice list. My top 10 from 1993. 10. Cool Runnings 9. Demolition man 8. Grumpy old men 7. Alive 6. The Fugitive 5. Falling down 4. Groundhog Day 3. The Sandlot 2. Tombstone 1. Jurassic Park. Honourble mention. Heart and Souls
Good list but I would replace Alive, Sandlot and Falling Down with Cliffhanger , Mrs Doubtfire and Nightmare Before Christmas. Honourable mention goes to In The Line Of Fire. Oh I forgot Hard Target
I believe this was one of the best years in the 1990's for film. Probably the only other year that was comparable was 1999. Menace ll Society, in my opinion, is one of the best films of the entire decade. Tombstone ranks up there as well! Another stellar list, sir!
I'd have also included Matinee, Joe Dante's coming of age comedy set against the Cuban Missile Crisis. And it includes one of Jonathan Goodman's best performances as a William Castle-style filmmaker.
My favorite of this year is Dazed and Confused easy. That film was my Jurassic Park growing up. The Blue Kite, The Joy Luck Club, A Perfect World, and Red Rock West and some hidden gems worth checking out.
My Top 10: 10. Gettysburg 9. Demolition Man 8. Addams Family Values 7. Mrs. Doubtfire 6. Schindler's List 5. Army of Darkness 4. Falling Down 3. True Romance 2. Groundhog Day 1. Jurassic Park
'Ignored the breakfast issues' Haha, I swear these videos (and your choice of movie scenes, lines etc) are getting funnier. 1993 was a surprisingly good year for movies (much better than 1994). My Top Ten? Oh go on, then.. 10. Tombstone 9. The Fugitive 8. Red Rock West 7. A Perfect World 6. Freaked 5. The Remains of the Day 4. The Ballad of Little Jo 3. Manhattan Murder Mystery 2. Short Cuts 1. Groundhog Day Do check out Freaked and Ballad of Little Jo if you haven't seen them. Big up.
I already did a video of my favorite films of 1993 early this year so anyone can go check that out. But I can say that I have seen most of the films in this video.
I must have missed this in notifications when you posted it, i only just saw it. I'm doing my ranking before watching so i can compare. I bet i'm probably the only person not to include Jurassic Park in my list lol. 10 Dave 9 Weekend At Bernie's 2 8 Body Bags 7 Groundhog Day 6 12:01 5 Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday 4 Splitting Heirs 3 Puppet Master 4 2 True Romance 1 Kalifornia
LMAO i like how you described Super Mario Bros as bad. I only watched that a few months ago. I enjoyed it, admittedly i was drunk, but that is my number 11, still ahead of Jurassic Park and Falling Down in my rankings😋
It's crazy how many good movies came out this year. A few of my faves that weren't even mentioned in the video are Sandlot, Homeward Bound, Blood in Blood Out, and Rudy which is easily one of the best sports movies ever made IMO. Amazing year
Stalingrad (1993) is the best war movie from the 90s. Nowhere to Run 1993 van Damme action movie /"Swing kids" with a teen Christian Bale / In the line of fire / Striking Distance / and the Dutch movie Oeroeg. Yes indeed 1993 was a great year!
I know I've been late for the party commenting on your channel. Very sorry. I remember Siskel & Ebert saying that 1993 was the best year in movies since the early '70s.
Naked #1 for me and J Park wouldn't make either my top 20 for the year or my top ten Spielbergs. *Would* find room in my top 10 for The Wrong Trousers and Dazed and Confused.
I have a personal issue with The Fugitive, and it's not the fault of the film. When it premiered in England i set my video timer to tape it because I was out that night. Unfortunately I didn't make sure there was enough room on the tape. When i got home and saw the tape had rewound and ejected itself, i couldn't bring myself to watch it, knowing i'd miss the end. After that tragedy lol, i've never tried to watch it again. I'm sure i will one day. I love the 60s series, The Invaders, written by the same person, Quinn Martin, who did The Fugitive tv show.
1)Groundhog Day 2)True Romance 3)Jurassic Park 4)Schindler's List 5)Falling Down 6)The Nightmare before Christmas 7)Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 8)Super Mario Brothers
Jurassic Park Schindler's List True Romance In The Name of the Father Mrs. Doubtfire The Nightmare Before Christmas A Bronx Tale Carlito's Way Philadelphia What's Love Got To Do With It?
Jurassic Park Sleepless in Seattle Philadelphia The Fugitive Groundhog Day Mrs. Doubtfire Carlito's Way Schindler's List Last Action Hero This Boy's Life
I think Groundhog Day and Nightmare Before Christmas are the films that hold up the best. I could and have watched these multiple times and still love them. I remember being very entertained and impressed by Jurassic Park but I can't imagine rewatching it or seeing any of the current sequels. Robert Altman films bore the hell out of me ( except MASH). I think you touched on just about every interesting film of the year.
White ppl seem to overlook a lot of great movies.. not even trying to be racist.. because I'm not. But you were raised differently. And your choices of great movies are definitely great. But there are much more that I feel is overlooked that has more to do with black culture. And tbh... It's very hard to find someone on UA-cam with the same idea of movie choices as I have. As most seem to be Caucasian.. but yet you all still have wonderful movie choices. I just wish movies like (Radio) or (The Program) and ECT was suggested in you all's choices
(1) I can't find a 1993 film titled "Radio" on IMDB. Are you thinking of the Cuba Gooding Jr. film from 2003? (2) "The Program" is a 1993 film, but it wasn't particularly well received at the time (Wikipedia quotes one critic as saying it was a "load of feeble, unimaginative material," but others like Roger Ebert offered it mild praise), and currently only 43% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes rate it positively. It didn't make much money either. (3) What's "ECT"?
@@tonytoni1303 Thanks for confirming! And could you share what movie you were referring to when you wrote "ECT"? I assume that's an abbreviation but I haven't been able to work out its meaning.

I didn't realise that so many great films were from this year. Thanks for the nostalgic memories.
Ikr?
In their "best of 1993" program in January 1994, Siskel and Ebert described it as the best film year since the early 1970s.
