The Adrian Morley sending off for Great Britain against Australia is a pretty famous one. It was the 12th second of the 1st match of a three game ashes series. Morley obviously wanted to make an early impact with the first tackle but made a bit of a mistake there!
well he certainly made an impact!
With players all rushing in, it'll be able standing up for their teammates. But I've also heard that it's to tie everyone up so that no hotheads throw other punches. Everyone is holding onto each other so it's impossible to throw a punch. :)

You mentioned AFL check out the Barry Hall coward punch on Brent Staker. On UA-cam the video is called “Barry Hall coward punchs Brent Staker”.
That incident at 5:00. The player came up that you were saying didn't have anything to do with it was the captain of the team that made the initial high tackle. The umpire was letting the captain know what was going to happen from this incident, in which afterwards he sent off the offending player that threw the punch With this being Rugby League and not Union, I don't know if the same disciplinary rules apply.
As far as the AFL goes, they essentially put rules in to make sure that king hits like this really don't happen and if they do, result in massive suspensions. Andrew Gaff was the last person to do something like that, and he ended up suspended for 6-8 weeks, which cost him a premiership, as his team won the Grand Final that year. After Gaff gaffed (pun intended), there were people on the opposing team that wanted to go after him, but kept their cool and concentrated on the game. That's the other test of a player's mettle; can they keep their cool and put their head into the game rather than vent their anger in a fight.
I played some league in the UK in my early 20s , this was just into the 80s when they knew you were from Australia the tackles went headhunting , played with an amateur club we played Leeds, before super league I missed the game with a broken arm even though I had played the week before with the same injury. They could trial the send off rule in footy in the pre season.

In the old days, when I was a youngster, we were taught “one in all in”. Don’t leave your mate stranded I guess.
Fortunately enough this doesn't happen (much) anymore.
I think cracking down hard and having tools as deterrents are great
@@RobReacts1 huge deterrents now exist in the game now, as soon as a punch is thrown it's 10 in the bin. If it's blatant it's a send off. Anything that lands a player in the bin is immediately on report (which means it's now it the hands of the NRL disciplinary tribunal) and the player my face fines and suspension depending on severity.

That's his job idiot, had the Aussies kicked off their forwards would've been thinking the same about white, red and blue. The Aussie forward shat his pants when he saw Morley charging at him, he genuinely terrified opponents which is why he tried to get out of his way (which you just don't do as a forward in that era for the first hit up, especially in an international, it shows a lack of heart) he stepped at the last minute and Adrian over reached forcing his arm higher than necessary. It was definitely a sending off but there was genuinely no malice in it other than the expected malice that playing in his position in that era came with

Keep him on the pitch, every team mate deserves a square up. Its protecting them letting them hide in the changerooms. In AFL you can always obliterate someone legally, right time, right action. Bring back the biff!

what do you mean?
@@RobReacts1 whenever the referee does an x it means that the incident is on report but he can also give more serious sanctions. In the 4th part of this video when the referee gave the penalty he put the tackle on the report for the review panel to look at then gave the punishment

Unfortunately incidents like these will keep happening in both codes. The simple reason being testosterone, physical contact and mentality of individual players.
If all players had the discipline of people like Richie McCaw, George Smith etc, where whatever is thrown at them will never retaliate.
Not all players will have great self control. There will always be 1 or 2 that in the heat of the moment their brain will shut down and stupidity will prevail.
Some players see the red mist and lose control. I find it strange as it's never happened to me and never felt the urge to do something like this even when playing football and being stamped on etc

RL traditionally has a reputation for such behaviour. More so than RU. Although things aren’t so bad these days.
It seems like union crack down on high tackles a lot more. And then less retaliation incidents. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@RobReacts1 - The kinds of high tackles that were part and parcel of RL were not generally seen in RU. RU is cracking down on tackles that result in contact with the head, some of which are a little harsh at times.
