    They referred a lot to Zbigniew Wodecki and he's a famous musician in our country (He passed away in 2017). He's mostly known for making the intro song to Maya the bee cartoon (which is a german - japanese anime btw) even though I'm 21 years old this cartoon was a big part of my childhood (Maya the bee is from 70s). They also referred to chałupy nudist beach and Wodecki made a famous song about it. The last thing is his hair throught his lifetime he always had nice long hair and everybody loved it.

    7:00 It is not. No matter if it is a chineese restaurant owner or an intelligently insufficient brother, the sketch does not state that all people of this kind are like... It's more of a 'Here is a situation where why have a person acting in an unusual fastion and someone reacting to that."
    If that were a woman more people would be offended.
    Anyway, the audience is laughing -> the sketch is good. (It was made for that audience.)

    I have funny story about gay guys, so once I've been with my friends in a bar that was somewhat friendly to gay people, we didn't know that at first, we were all straight, we were having fun, drinking and so on and then one of my friends (who was also a male) said to me "let's hit the dance floor," I was like: "yeah, why not". So, while we were dancing we were almost molested by few guys and we were like: ok It's time to switch and dance back to back, keep them somewhat at bay, song ended we walked to the bar but the guys from dance floor followed us and started to hitting on us... We were like: dudes chill, leave us alone, we are not swinging that way, so after that last part they finally left... some time after that when we analyzed that whole situation with that friend we came to a conclusion: damn, we act pretty much similar to that and the only difference is that we are doing it to the girls and that was uncomfortable as hell, so you could say we tasted our own medicine that day...

    Lost in translation:
    11:45 English "to harass, molest (somebody)" is in Polish "napastować"(for the foreign Polish grammary nerds- imperfective aspect). But this Polish word can also mean "to wax" (shoes for example, perfective aspect).
    So the sentence of the-former-gay-guy: "Excuse me, you are harassing me, Sir" (a statement) can also be understood as "Excuse me, wax (smear, spread, grease, lubricate) me, Sir" (a request, imperative mood). So the "new-gay" asks a "former-gay-employe-wanna-be": "Do you have some kind of pasta?", not Italian pasta, noodle, but more like wax, lubrificant. That is why the-now-straight-guy cries out "Oh Jesus".🤣

    The late Zbyszek Wodecki was a wonderful person, a great musician (trumpeteer and violist mainly), and a singer with a beautiful, clear and powerful voice. He sang the theme for the Polish run of "Maya the Bee", and since it was a show fully voiced over with amazing Polish actors, many tend to forget that it was not a Polish show, nor a Polish composition. However, Wodecki may have sung it best from all renditions (and I've heard five). He also sang a song called "Chałupy welcome too" in 1980s about a Polish nudist beach and small-town folk indignance at the shameless naked people.
    I strongly recommend hearing Wodecki sing, be it Maya the Bee (Pszczółka Maja) or some of his own songs (Zacznij od Bacha, Chałupy welcome to, Izolda, Z tobą chcę oglądać świat (a duet with another phenomenal Polish singer of 1970s and 1980s Zdzisława Sośnicka).

    11:39 I love what they did here with this whole "role reversal", because it shows precisely what the crux of the problem is with this whole ordeal. I wonder how would the ROYGBV activists feel if we started flaunting our straightness on them all the time and forcing them to accept our harrassments as the norm, and when they protested, we would call them "straightphobes" because "all we're talking about is love and freedom, which are beautiful ideas". This kinda reminds me the Kay & Peele's skit "Office Homophobe". Talking about your private parts and sex in public, although tolerable in certain contexts (like comedy), in most contexts is considered vulgar and obscene, irregardless of the orientation of the one doing it, especially if people are not interested in hearing about it and if they're harrassed with it, and that's all. It has nothing to do with being against different orientations - it's about being a decent person in public spaces.

    People in Poland mostly don't care who you are sleeping with. Believe it or not, we have homosexual people too, like everywhere in the world. They're not being hunted down in the streets. The problems of course come from the religious folks and the previous, church-dependent conservative government. Most people aren't actually religious though, and governments change.
    This sketch is however a parody, so it has nothing to do with people being accepting or not. It's basically presenting an over the top, exagerrated gay character. So this could actually be a sign of the conservative society- because otherwise paroding some people like that might be considered in bad taste.
    Edit: it's obviously playing on those campy stereotypes. It's obviously not reality. But it's hilarious.

    • @bonbonpony
      @bonbonpony Місяць тому +2

      There's a difference between acceptance and tolerance. There's a difference between being homosexual and being gay (a very subtle difference, that's why it's escaping so many people). And I don't think that religious people are the only ones to blame here - I would say that it is an "action-reacton" situation. I'm not religious myself, but even I can understand that religious people have a certain system of values that they cherish, and while they might be tolerant towards other people who have different values or belief systems, it doesn't mean that they will _accept_ those values conflicting with their own, especially when these conflicting values are forced upon them. I think that the other side of this conflict (which aren't really people of different sexual orientations - it's those annoying entitled activists who try to force their world view upon everyone) is more to be blamed here, because the more they try to shove their world view down people's throats, the more negative reactions they evoke, which is rather unfortunate for people of different orientations and does them huge disservice, because people start to blame _them_ instead of those activists.

      What is the subtle difference between homosexual and gay?
      Of course, you have the right to tolerate but not accept; such people are not a problem. But those who talk about perversion and the rainbow plague are. Just like saying "they are not people, just an ideology." Unfortunately, there are quite a few of such people.
      You see, there is a difference between ideology, which is something you identify with and choose-like religion-and natural inclinations, which you have no control over. Yelling about religion, relating everything to the values contained within that one religion, and trying to convert others is forcing your ideology down their throat.
      But if Catholics were a marginalized group, if their marriages were considered invalid in the eyes of the law, which would deny them rights to children or medical information, I wouldn’t have anything against Catholic parades that would give them a bit of visibility and change the status quo.
      Saying: we exist, we want to live like others, but we have no rights, is not shoving "ideology" down anyone's throat. Talking about the fact that people are different, that heteronormativity is not the natural form of human functioning, and that other groups have the right to be as visible as others-is not shoving "ideology" down anyone's throat. It is presenting a healthy, scientific, evolutionarily logical approach, free from ideological influence.
      Every group that fights for something becomes loud because you won’t achieve anything by sitting quietly on the margins. Women in the previous century were "shoved down people's throats." Thanks to that, they gained rights. The Polish independence cause in the 19th century was shoved down people's throats. That’s how we guaranteed our return to the map. Ukraine is being shoved down people's throats. Thanks to that, it receives support, because otherwise everyone would have forgotten about it long ago.
      Likewise, non-heteronormative individuals and their "activists" will be loud and shoved down people's throats until the status quo changes and they are no longer on the margins.

    • @leno_o17
      @leno_o17 Місяць тому

      @@Agata-si3jl I didn't say all religious people are like that, at least I didn't mean it. Hovewer, "not accepting showing those inclinations publicly" is just a you problem. If straight people can walk hand in hand and give their partner a kiss in public, so can gay people. If straight romance can be constantly showed in the movies, so can gay romance.
      Other people can not accept religious songs blaring from the church speakers, pilgrimages stoppining the traffic in the city or religious symbols in public places.
