What size of avocado is that, small or large?
What flavor of the protein powder are you using and what size scoop is that in case we use a different kind?
And what type of blender are you using?
1.5 cups milk substitute
0.5 avocado
1.0 cups frozen raspberries
1.0 tbsp flax seeds
0.5 tsp turmeric powder
1.0 pinch black pepper
1.0 scoop chocolate protein powder
1.0 tbsp coconut butter
0.25 oz unsweetened baking chocolate

I would substitute Chocolate protein for the Unflavored version (save on 2 net carbs) and use 4 teaspoons of cacao powder instead of baking chocolate to get a more yummy result…not a big fan of the chocolate taste of the protein powder…

Please, Please, Please provide more smoothies. I miss them and they were easy for breakfast since I start work at 6:15 am. It's quick and fast and kept me satisfied until lunch. 2weeks into the diet and already drop 14 pounds. I need help to keep going. Thanks.

Frozen raspberries are my weakness and I had to stop keeping them in my freezer because I could easily eat a whole bag. But lowering that technical carb count sounds like I can make them fit into my macros even if I indulge 😋😋

Going through chemo now, so I can't express enough the happiness I have drinking this delicious keto smoothie...I feel like I'm cheating! Thomas, PLEASE include the recipe in the description going forward; it's just easier to assemble it all. Tried the Sunwarrior vanilla protein powder. It had an off putting after taste neither of us liked. Willing to try the chocolate, though. Please continue doing smoothie and "treat" recipes. Love your videos and passion for life!

Thomas i would like to thank you for all the info i have watched a bunch of ur vids this weekend as i found out i am diabetic and all u do is low carb and i tried one of those real good breakfast sandwich today and it was good along with the pizza they make had that last night but i have to admit my big down fall is cheesecake and low carb answer for that ....once again thanks cant wait till i go to dr in july to see what my a1c is also have lost about 12 lbs in 3-4 weeks ......thanks

While I'm not really a fan of protein I threw some dark chocolate in my raspberry smoothie and lets just say wow definitely not expected the taste - thanks for the idea Thomas. This smoothie is a nice treat on a keto diet!

I’m a big fan of Sun Warrior protein powder. It’s the only one I used when I went vegan, and now I’m trying keto to see if it helps with my thyroid health because the vegan diet did not work for my body. I’m glad I can still enjoy this yummy powder. 😋

I just made a delicious chocolate mushroom/ banana smoothie. I used Raw Milk not exactly keto, I’m not really a fan of Alt milks. (Total sugars two grams) 0 added sugars not too bad.
Raspberry chocolate sounds really tasty.
I use frozen blueberries, celery and spinach in my smoothies instead of icecubes....I also add nuts, cinnamon and protein powder 😋

Im doing clean keto mediterranean since background is Greek/Italian mix. Nothing wrong having fruits like berries daily. Im still in Keto and can make easily a smoothie. Just the whey is not needed you put almond milk.

As an insulin dependent Type II diabetic, I follow Dr. Benjamin Bikman, who earned his Ph.D. in Bioenergetics and was a postdoctoral fellow with the Duke-National University of Singapore in metabolic disorders. He is currently a professor of pathophysiology and a biomedical scientist at Brigham Young University in Utah. He recommends animal derived protein powders over plant based; whey vs pea protein for example. Therefore I am switch these two in this recipe, which I love and to which I add psyllium. I have a keto smoothie with psyllium 3-4 times a week for lunch which frequently consists of this raspberry-chocolate smoothie. being 69 y.o., maintaining regular bowel habits is important to me and the addition of psyllium to my diet helps tremendously. Psyllium's other benefits are frequently mentioned by Thomas DeLauer.

Great videos. Thank you. I do have a question. If we are just starting keto, should we be going the whole "net carb" game of subtracting out fiber and sugar alcohols? I only ask because I see some very tasty looking foods out there that are high in carbs, but very low in net carbs, so I was worried about that throwing me out of ketosis.
A good rule of thumb is to use net carbs for whole foods (like broccoli or avocado) but count whole carbs for processed foods like almond flour and pea protein. Many people do not subtract sugar alcohols and others subtract half the sugar alcohols. What you need to keep in mind is that the whole net carb thing is just a game we play in our heads...our bodies are not fooled for a minute. I once heard Dr. Berry equate net carbs to a cheating spouse...they lie, lie, lie!

I've been making fat shakes with macadamia milk and ricotta cheese as a base. Macadamia milk costs a little more than almond or coconut milk but is higher in fat.
