When I reheat potatoes (in the microwave) I drizzle a little water over them and that restores their moisture. I get hiccups if they are too dry. Potatoes for the win. ☺️🍠🥔

I have done this in the past and it might be time to do it again for the same reasons that you set out. What I found when I did it, is that when I began to expand to other foods once the reset was over, I was able to really TASTE the food and be satisfied quicker with my meals. Green peas tasted divine, oranges and grapes tasted like candy! Corn suddenly became something that I found tasty because I could appreciate that it's just a little bit sweet. For me anyway, the reset really did exactly that. It reset my taste buds.

I've been high protein for LONG Time with no results. However, earlier this year I became very ill for couple of weeks and could only hold down potatoes. I ate them for breakfast, lunch and dinner and that was the only time I saw the scale move. I absolutely love potatos of every kind so this would be much easier on me than the freaking Keto that will eventually prove unsafe due to metabolic syndrome it's been proven to cause.

Chels! It's Vegemite in Oz, never Marmite! Aargh. I have just started a potato reset to diminish the significance of food in everyday life. I'm not a fan of sweet potato so am using mostly kestrel potatoes. I steam a large batch in the instant pot then dice without cutting through the bottom. I smoosh them down and cover with some salt and pepper, parsley, green onion and the juice of half a lemon. It's delish, but super easy and uncomplicated. So I go.....

LOL - I laughed when you talked about Vegemite (aka Marmite), cuz it's not avail in US, unless a specialty store imports. We tried it when we traveled outside the US with some friends, and we found it very salty and over-powering. Someone told us we were using it too heavily - apparently it's meant to be used with a light hand. I guess it's an acquired taste - we weren't there long enough to actually get a taste for it. Travel, back when we used to do it, does open you to new foods and tastes. That was our experience with Vegemite. But the sweet potato toast sounds yummy, with lots of variations possible

Since you have kids, it would be a fun project for you to do with them. A couple great books are "The Sprout Book" by Doug Evans, and "The Wheatgrass book" by Ann Wigmore. I do a great combo of eating all types of potatoes cooked, but combining them with sprouts/microgreens which I eat raw. Sprouts are especially great for those people who don't really like vegetables, or have to have them covered in sauces to eat. You get a ton of benefits by eating only a cup a day, of sprouts, or even better, a cup at each meal!!

They make gluten free Vegemite, now, so I'm super keen to try your sweet potato "toast".
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing.

As an older Kiwi now living in Western Australia, I so miss my Kumara. It is possible to get it sometimes but too expensive for my very limited income to eat often; for me now it’s a very occasional treat when available. I so envied your generous use of them. So I checked the price at NZ Countdown and was shocked to see even there it was listed at $12kg. And you don’t get many for a kg! Also, when I was young growing up in the Wairarapa the predominant spread used was Marmite though Vegemite was available so I found your comments on the spread interesting; obviously change has occurred there. In Australia Vegemite has always been more popular as far as I can tell.
Thanks for your videos; I find them practical and encouraging. 🙂

A potato reset for a couple weeks isn't "faddy;" it's been a healthy diet/habit reset for a while now. Some people don't know what they're talking about.

Food is the most powerful medicine! Moving from the ideal of being thin equals beautiful to healthiness’ beautiful. I think considering that everyone is a very different beauty, in terms of weight, in terms of size, look. I’ve noticed that women are getting skinny thinner and thinner. There’s also so much information about different diets, and overwhelming and confusing… Its good aware of a good diet is to inspire women to make changes to their diet and also their lifestyle, diet, exercise, sleep based on hormone, health, longevity, beauty as well as skin in the future.

3 kgs down since finding your info about being in a calorie deficit. First 2 weeks I was feeling a bit hungry at night which is okay. Even Dr Fuhrman talks about this and moderate caloric restriction. This third week I actually have felt not hungry a lot of the time. I think my brain has got with the program and now thinks ‘oh no, time for more fibre...let’s lay low’.

I never knew about the potato reset until yesterday. But I went through a phase in my pregnancy with my second child where all I wanted was potatoes. I ate so many potatoes! All I ate was potatoes and veggies. And I lost 10 pounds in two months. I wasn’t trying to I just loved potatoes during my pregnancy! And I still love them.

I so needed to watch this video today. I lost about 25 kg eating WFPB with a major kickstart from the Mary’s Mini. My weight has crept up by four kilos over winter and my habits have been less consistent. I’m going to reset for two weeks starting tomorrow. I’ll let you know how I go!

@@cheezheadz3928 I’m not going to eat only potatoes and non starchy vegetables for the rest of my life. The whole concept of a potato reset/Mary’s Mini is that it’s a short term, intensive period of resetting. It was originally designed for people with significant pathology and/or emotional issues with food. It’s now used widely as a mechanism to reset your intentions, regain consistency or simply to lose a little weight gained during a period of excess.
