Thank you for this!
Thanks, and I disagree with number 1(unless she’s talking about deep frying).
This is awesome! Thank you!
@@ChelseaMae - hope it is helpful 😊
i DEFINITELY agree with Number One!!! I have personally tried it, and my body is experienced with both ways.
I lost 25 pounds and used all the olive or avocado oil I wanted in cooking and salad dressing. I figured the oil was healthy, and I needed it, and it worked for me.
That's interesting. I was thinking same.I have bad optical nerve damage after accident and " gut instinct " says I need good oils and I can't always afford lots of different nuts.Thank you.Keep well.
That just means you were still in a calorie deficit. She’s just saying oil can add a lot of calories if you aren’t careful.
@@reseyworldexactly. Fat is the most calorie dense macronutrient, and if it's not paired with fiber and/or protein, it's usually not as filling. I find fat from nuts to be more satisfying than fat from plain oil.
It can be healthy if not over used. Olive and avocado oil are considered healthy fats because of what they're usually paired with: protein and fiber. Avocado (fruit) is also a healthy fat because it's usually paired with something with fiber and protein.
@@hoptoi WW is a calorie deficit - they just don't use that terminology
Im 51 and Ive probably been 'dieting' for 45 years, no joke. I promise you this is the most no nonsense, reality based, doable and sustainable list of tips Ive ever heard. Thanks so much for posting this!
Follow the suggestions and then write back to us in three months. I wonder if you’ll still feel the same.
I’m 60 and agree! The sad thing is, when I was at what is now my goal weight, I looked fantastic but felt fat, or that I could look even better if only I was a size smaller. Why do we do this to ourselves?
Agreed
I’m here to say something similar… I’m 38 and struggled with weight for 25 years (used to be naturally skinny and since my twins have ballooned!!) but this was sooooo straight forward. Thank you!
@@lightfulynx Your comment intrigued me so I took a look at your channel (very good!) and watched your introductory “Embrace Your Inner Dork” video. You speak very naturally and powerfully but I think you’re being SUPER hard on yourself if you say you’ve “ballooned”.
It’s important to eat well and live a healthy lifestyle, so that’s good; but I think you should remember how attractive you are and feel good about that.
I agree with EVERY tip! Reducing oil and adding more veg were the two things that helped me the most. Complete game changers. I also focused on “more movement” instead of an exercise routine. So now I walk a lot more, dance around my house, and take the stairs instead of the elevator. It works for me!
from someone who was for a long time “thicker”. I have dieted to lose weight and I have changed my diet to become healthier so many times for years and this is what finally helped:
- dont quit something but limit it
- weigh your food and inform yourself about portion sizes
- do not quit oil, it adds so much flavour and pleasure to eating.. simply reduce the amount you are eating to one tablespoon per meal
- try to combine the hunger crushing combo (a meal/snack with fat, protein, fiber, (and carbs). It’s proven to fill you up quite fast because it has all you need in it
- weigh yourself periodically. know yourself, it is easy to say “it’s just data”, but it is not for most of us. You cannot change how you feel about a number over night
- use diet coke to fulfil your sweet cravings (max 2 per day). Is it the healthiest option? no, but it does not add calories so try it to get used to eating less when you are not actually hungry.
- allow yourself to have fast food every now and then, but change your order to be less big and less calorie dense. Be smart about what you know fills u up and what does not
- you have an intense craving? try to find a “light” version of that product and eat a portion size (oven baked chips vs regular chips already makes a difference).
- the only thing I would recommend for you to truly stop is alcohol
I have never been able to lose weight until I started paying attention to HOW much I eat. That one was the game changer for me (also realising how many calories nuts and chips have HAHA). I was always eating double the portion of what you need to become full and I had never realised it. No one had ever told me that. My entire family eats that much. So I stopped obsessing about WHAT I eat and I changed how much I ate of that thing. I lost 10kg in 4 months and I never felt like I was depriving myself of any food. I was even eating pizza which is crazy calorie dense!
So before you try all else, check your portion sizes:) If you are always feeling incredibly full after eating, then you are probably making meals that are too large. You just have to look at the box of whatever you are eating and see the amount of grams they deem as one portion et voila! :)
Great advice! Did you do any exercise?
This jus5 doesn’t allow for the psychology of eating/overeating. Minimal carbs promote craving for more carbs! Protein and fibre are imperative, but any carbs cause release of cortisol. For emotional eaters, just saying eat fewer or different carbs fails to heed both the cortisol impact and the emotional drivers. Why don’t we wake up to this?
Thanks a bunch for the useful habits! Many of them I've already incorporated into my lifestyle. Like many women I struggled with weight gain due to hormonal reasons for a long time and aspect health really helped me out. I recommend it to anyone dealing with a similar issue.
My jaw dropped, when you added vegetables to the Dominos pizza! For me it often is an either or, healthy or junk, just gulping down their yummy vegan pizza and feeling bad about my lack of disciplin. Such a brillant idea to just prepare veggies, while waiting for the delivery man! ❤🎉
Yep, doesn't have to be all or nothing...
Pro tip. Keep the sauces like the dominos ranch that is SO good, and use it to dip veggies in. Haha it’s like tricking your mind into thinking your eating dominos because you associate that taste with pleasure! 😂🤷♀️
Frozen veg and chopping things when you get home from the store is a game changer. Opening a bag is so much easier than stopping to chop.
@@annewhitney8809 I agree! I love frozen veg mixes and add loads of them to any curry, soup or chili.
I make a “pizza” salad to go with my pizza. It has similar ingredients and spices and goes so well together. Like Romain, sundried tomatoes, seasoned artichoke hearts, bell peppers or banana peppers, sometimes more protein, and Italian seasoning
OMG I absolutely LOVE the 10th tip! That is my favourite tip! I'm going to make "Dont miss twice" my rule of thumb for now on.I was trying to come up with "consequences" for whenever I have a slip up but to tell myself "dont miss twice" THAT is a good consequence. I'll tell myself that if I eat wrong one day, eat right the next.
It’s a game changer.
Well I just shared this with a group. I just kinda want to shout it from the roof.... "LISTEN to this gal! She is so inspiring!" Even though I lost my weight years ago, YOU keep me going young lady!
This is so kind. Thank you!!
She's an adult ...🤨
@@missinformed9550jeez, you got your buttons pushed.
You are so practical. No more dieting. This is for living.
I have been obsessively watching weightloss videos and yes, some of the tips are run of the mill but the way you explain and go into each one is really helpful and it makes me feel more engaged. The last one hit me like a truck. I love it and it makes so much sense. I hope to implement it in my journey.
This is the best video I’ve ever seen on this topic. The most simple but direct tools people can use to make actual habits and see long term change. So much psychology involved in helping people loose weight and this advice totally takes that into account. You totally nailed it.
Thank you for these videos. Your weight loss tips are so approachable and practical! The tips are all familiar, yet I feel like you're my personal coach/cheerleader motivating and inspiring me to keep going!
This is probably the best list I've seen so far on UA-cam. Thank you!
EXCELLENT rundown !! ❤ And I agree about too many recipes. I freaking love to cook, which I believe adds to my wanting to overeat. Good basic meals, actually kind of boring meals, keeps me from getting too excited about eating and keeps my taste buds under control.
Everything you said hit on the spot. I will follow all the tips. I was already doing certain things but learnt more today. Thank you
Honestly, Chelsea, this was a wonderful video.thank you!
Loved your list of habits! I couldn't agree more on the subject of more and more recipes not being the answer. If we're trying to live a lifestyle where food is our fuel (not our entertainment), then a giant repertoire of recipes just complicates matters. I love the idea of 3-5 core recipes as fall-back for getting a meal together quickly and relatively effortlessly. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
This is the most intelligent approach to healthy eating I’ve seen, I am so excited to try some of your tips out, thank you ❤❤
I agree. We dont need recipes. Just make plates/bowls with ingredients we love. Batch cook starches etc which helps to put it altogether. i also like to make smoothies where I add frozen cauliflower and chickpeas (you cant taste them. Keeps me full for hours. This is my lifestyle after 6 years of losing 35 pounds ❤
thanks for this video Chelsea. Very helpful 🤍
Thank you Chelsea .I’ve learned more from you than any other video .I appreciate all the work you put in it .👍👍👍🇦🇺
Thank you for these tips! They make a ton of sense. I am getting ready to get back to a whole foods/plant based diet and I needed these reminders as I tend to fall into that all or nothing mindset at times or try and change everything at once and when I mess up it's hard to get back on track. I need to build the consistency and make things simpler and it was nice to hear these reminders.
This is an excellent video Chelsea! It hit on so many things I needed to hear and do. Thank you!
Best down to earth advice that actually makes sense! I think many of us fall into the trap of overthinking things. Morning work out vs. Evening etc. Getting in the habit of things and making it a routine is HUGE. Thats the most important part. Thank you for creating this.❤
I am switching from being a pescatarian to vegan and this was THE most helpful information I have heard! I am that person with all the fancy vegan cookbooks and feeling very overwhelmed. I have never been over weight until I turned 58 and bam! I gained weight like crazy! I am going to implement these 10 steps and I am looking at your other material. Thanks for the simplicity!
Great video! I’m actually in the middle of reading atomic habits so this was such a good sign for me to hear you mention that at the beginning. I’m not a vegan but I loved the points you made and I can easily adopt these habits for myself. Thank you!
Changing your habbits and making good choices the easiest choice is brilliant. Thank you for sharing!
You’re so right “it’s just too much!” When talking about recipes! So true!!
Loved this video, thank you for making it and sharing
This is the most practical, healthy video on this topic I’ve seen. Moreover, you show how eating this way is actually way cheaper!
Thank you so much. Your video is super helpful. I will definitely try to implement some of that advice! Wish me luck 🤞 🙏
Having done so much reading and research personally, and also having biology and pharmaceutical degrees, I was *delighted*, borderline amazed, to hear you speak on the exercise research correctly. It is so rare to see anyone in the weight loss/fitness influencer sphere who is knowledgeable (or will admit) that the science simply doesn’t back up that exercise creates *long term weight loss - fyi it doesn’t. If you were extremely sedentary then yes it will help increase loss for a few months, it if you have a semi-active, normal life it’ll balance out very quickly. Almost all “research” that suggests otherwise was literally sponsored by Coco-cola or Nestle
Loved this video! Particularly, 'don't miss twice'! I think this will help break the all or nothing mentality which I find can disrupt my good habits for longer than a little slip.
Original tips, how refreshing! Thank you so much.
Love this video, thanks for your hard work to help others out, this info is gold!
i really loved hearing your story and breakdown of tips and tricks! thank you for sharing
I love you! Thank you! You inspire me and soooooo many other people everyday! Taking you with me on this journey :)
I have NEVER found a video that spells out these concept better. I love that you focus on making things easy, because I always wonder how other people do it?! They always prepare fresh meals but I have always found that to be way too complicated for me to do consistently! For mre, I think simplification would definitely be key.
Thank you! These are some great ideas that I will be starting tomorrow.I will say the weighing daily actually Ive been doing and find it very helpful. I also daily exercise. My workouts are not bootcamps! Low impact videos or walks outside, atleast 15 minutes. It mentally makes me feel good.
Thank you for this lovely refresher course! It always helps to have the points reiterated 😊
I've lost 70 lbs eating whole food plant based with a few hits and misses but what helped me most was the 'don't miss twice' approach...just carry on as usual.
I'm 41 and finally only about 5-10 lbs away from my goal weight 😊
Its difficult this side of 40,but totally doable with a more active lifestyle 💪
Thank you so much for your amazing content! I appreciate you so much ❤
I love your presentations! So direct and motivating. Even though I already knew most of the hacks (and do them), there are some I didn’t. I also like the reasons for each. Thank you so much.
You are just amazing wealth of knowledge.. I know it’s on repeat but it gives a boast on meals ideas and a big hug 😊
Girl, after 47 years you're the first who makes sense to me. :) I'll incorporate your lovely simple tips and let you know in a couple of weeks how I'm doing :) Thank you thank you thank you!!
How did it go?
Thank you for this video! These are all excellent tips, but the 'don't miss twice' tip is exactly what I needed to hear.

Love the way you explain and breakdown these points into clear and bite size chunks, you are great in simplifying but stating that which works 😍 thank you for sharing and inspiring us 😍🙏🏻
So stoked its helping!!
Great tips and thanks for the motivation.
you're giving a lot of advice that inspires me for dealing with ADHD too, with all the insight about barriers and the water bottle example. it means a lot to me that you're sharing your wisdom (and for free!) im going to share your content more for this reason
effing fantastic video; love the JC reference(s) especially. commenting mostly to poke the algorithm so we can make habit reformation a normal thing!
Such good solid advice. Thank you!!!
Great tips, thanks for sharing!😊
Me again. This also means less awful wandering around the shop trying to decide between 1000 choices.Im excited to start. Thanks again from Ireland.
*It's motivating to see how small changes can lead to significant results. Thanks for the inspiration!*
I thought this video was stellar. I am in tears . I just feel this is so easy and helpful
Thank you! I LOVED this video! Hard to find such practical tips and so easy to follow, and understand! Seems silly but now that I know I can think of my veggies in 3 groups I am finding it so much easier than buying loads of different stuff and not knowing what to cook with it!
Such a brilliant tip about adding more vege to take away. Thanks so much for these super awesome tips. REALLY helpful!!
I never heard of habit number 10, never skipping 2 days. Wow, I love that and it spoke to me loud and clear. I will definitely be incorporating that into my journey. Thank you!!
Don't miss twice! Just what I needed to hear!!
Smart advices. Thank you👍
You are such a gift to all of us! Not only is the information you present so spot on, the manner in which you present it is so understandable.😊
Love this information. Thank you
This all sounds like amazing advice, good for you!
Very practical and realistic video! Thank you for these tips!
Love this video. Very informative and still give movement for slip days.
Too much..is so right! Now with all the holiday recipes popping up, my freezer is full of ingredients that I want to try, and it’s making me so anxious! And the cookbooks…well, that’s the same story. I plan to change my approach asap. Merry Christmas to everyone. And thanks.
EXCELLENT tips, subscribed! ❤
This is one of the best videos on the subject. I have heard definitely plan to do these things you have talked about. Do a little more research on the fizzy drinks and the connection with bone density and calcium absorption. Keep up the good work love your channel.
Thank you for this. I have now subscribed seems to me you are wise and practical about this
you are so right about simplifying food, I eat alot of the same things but it makes it so much more doable
This is the best list EVER. I was expecting it to be so basic but you have REALLY great info!
Brilliant advice !!! Thank you x x
Heyyyyyyyyy Chelsea!!!!!!! I'm SO excited that I found your YT channel. I started my channel last November and have the goal to learn to live a healthy life both body and soul. I can't wait to dive into your videos and gets lots of knowledge from your amazing journey. 🤩🤩 Hope you have an amazing week! NEW SUB!!!!! 💝💝💝💝
Great tips! I’ll be implementating a lot of these.
I totally agree with the keep simple philosophy. I get overwhelmed with the idea of meal prepping.
I absolutely will not go to the gym if it's not scheduled in my week. I recently started going, and realized that if it wasn't planned out in my planner then I'd forget to go. I pick which classes I want to try, and schedule in "free time" as will to do what I want there. It's a "date with myself". 😊
This might be the best video ive ever seen on healthy eating , thank you so much, ive been struggling with a bad diet ny whole life but these tips seems actually do-able and not overwhelming
Thanks, this is so helpful
Great video and great tips! I’m definitely going back to eating cleaner and making veggies my main dish with every meal besides breakfast. I’ll check out your quick recipes as well!
I am a new subscriber and this video has really changed the way I look at my eating! I learned a lot im going to try! Especially not drinking my calories!
Great video. I usually eat the same core foods daily. So I can stay on plan. For me the simpler the better.
Thank you for sharing your weight loss experience tips. Having the mental change regarding exercise is so important, just make it part of your daily habit. I exercise at home everyday.
Thank you so much! Just saw this video today, but I definitely feel empowered to start at least some of these habits! I remember years ago I started the habit of not drinking any soda or tea and lost so much weight! I will definitely start eating more veggies with every meal! Thank you for sharing with us!🤗
Omg yes on the easy meals. I’d love to see others’ but recently mine has been rotisserie chicken (precooked from store), pre-prepped broccoli, and some cheese and seasoning. Throw some of each in a bowl in the microwave. Relatively balanced and healthy for almost zero prep time.
I used to also keep shredded cabbage in the fridge at all times and I’d add it to everything for bulk, crunch, and vitamins, but haven’t done that in a while.
Such great tips and explained so well. Thank you!
B-u had me with #7 cuz i get discouraged so easily. Blew my mind🤯 thank u for explaining so well and so simplistically
Thank you for this reminder! My brain knows it, but sometimes i just need a motivation reminder that this is doable ❤
Love this video thank you so much!
this is one of te best weight loss videos I have seen on here. So much great information.
Love this easy practical tips! Thank you!!
Chels!!! This is one of your BEST videos EVER!!!
