What a great recipe Matt. I had forgotten about this one. When the kids were young we made this and added M&Ms at the end. Think we'll have to make this one again on the next grandkids sleepover ! Yum yum!
Thank you J! :) It is simple and easy and yummy! Oh adding M&Ms to it would be awesome! Such a great idea. :)
What is M&Ms?
@@SudhaShankran - M&Ms are a small chocolate drop that is coated with a thin layer of candy. They are usually about the size of someone's small fingernail and are not hard. There is also several versions of them. Some have a peanut center while others can have caramel. But the original is just chocolate center.
Thanks! I have been looking for this recipe! Learned it years ago in home ec class!

Glad you made it! You are welcome. :)
nice one. thanks i been craving this for awhile and dont want to buy it. thinking of adding white chocolate to it.
You are very welcome, Derek!! Right when it is smoothed out in the pan, you can add a thin layer of white chocolate on top like I do with this peanut butter cup fudge, which is basically the peanut butter fudge with chocolate on top, haha ua-cam.com/video/QcMAriRmq4I/v-deo.html
These used be so good our neighbors used to make these for us ❤️
Awesome! :) :)
Definitely gonna use this video for reference when I decide to try to make fudge, but I think I'm gonna go out on a limb and use Peter Pan honey roasted peanut butter in mine.

Hi Matt Thanx for another great recipe ,can you please tell me If I want to make a double batch can I use one pot or do I have to make each batch separate.
You are very welcome! You can do it all in one pot, as long as the pot is large enough. :)
My favourite line
"If I can do it, you can do it"
BTW Amazing recipe
Thank you!! :)
I just made this from a different recipe, and came here to see if the consistency was right, before setting. It looked loose to me. But I got it right. Thanks for the video!
Awesome Laura! And thank you! :)
No one makes it like I do anymore using real cream 😂 lol, it's the best

I love fudge - can you do other flavors with four ingredients? This looks so simple!
Thanks Jim!! You know I haven't tried it yet with like Almond butter, or cashew butter, etc. But I am betting it would work great! haha :)
Looks good at what temp should we boil the sugar n milk
Medium low heat. so 275 F to 300 F.
Thanks

Yummy
Thank you!
Just like my moms I made some today :) beat ever!
Awesome, Patricia! :)
Matt would you have a recipe for maple fudge? Something that you don't need a candy thermometer for.i prefer to use maple extract or flavoring.i prefer to use evaporated milk.
Hi Mark! mmm no I don't. But if I run across something I will let you know!! :)
Awesome
Thank you, Betsy!
Gonna make this for my best friend
Good luck, Shannia! Let me know how it turns out.
How long does it take to cool down and do you put it in the fridge
It takes a few hours to set. Let it cool down a bit at room temperature, then put it in the fridge.
Approximately how long do you have to let it cool.. and does it need to be in the fridge? Thank you for your great simple recipes!
It takes about 1 hour to cool. I store mine in the fridge. It tastes good cold. But you can store it at room temperature too if you like. :)
Thanks so much.. just had a piece.. it's delicious! I did put it in the fridge...
You are very welcome! :) :) Glad you like it!
@@inthekitchenwithmatt will brown sugar work in place of white sugar?
@@jodykrieger6327 Hi Jody, I haven't tried brown sugar with this recipe. I think it will work fine though. You may need to play with the substitution, try a straight swap to begin with. Then you may need to adjust later.
Thks dear
You are very welcome!
My Sister has been making the candy since Mom passed away 🌹
But she won’t give me the recipe But have I got a surprise for her !! Imma add chopped walnuts and yes I want to get the chocolate fudge as well
It will blow her toenails right off her feet.
Thanks ✌🏾👍🏾
Awesome!!! Let me know how it turns out and her reaction. :)
Can I use brown sugar if I do not have the other sugar thank you I will try it always love butter fudge when I was a little girl up until now thank you
Yes, you can use brown sugar. :)
I tried this recipe a long time ago and it was amazing. Now I'm wondering, could I make the base and replace the peanut butter with another flavor? For example, replace the peanut butter with chocolate? Or do you reckon it wouldn't work?
You could certainly try it and see how it turns out. I use other recipes for chocolate fudge. This one ua-cam.com/video/wvnl4AXYBEQ/v-deo.html and this one ua-cam.com/video/mEggPuo77hs/v-deo.html
I think im gonna make this with 1/2 PB and 1/2 nutella.
(Ended up nixing the nutella and added 4 Tbs of cocoa powder instead.) Delish.
Awesome!!
Yum 😋
Thank you Bella!
Can you dip the peanut butter squares in chocolate? if so, should i use unsweetened chocolate? I’m gonna try to make this tonight, thank you for the easy recipe!!
Sure! You can use any chocolate that you want. Try some different combinations. Or do like I do in this video: ua-cam.com/video/QcMAriRmq4I/v-deo.html
My granny use to make saltine cracker sandwiches for us with this in the center . I learned to removed the milk and sugar from the heat when you hear it crackle .
Awesome!!
Do you wait for it to cool
After you take it off the heat?
Hi Tony, no you need to work fairly quickly and add the vanilla extract and the peanut butter. It still needs to be hot enough to melt the peanut butter. :)
Can I make peanut butter fudge in wok? Meaning boiling the milk & sugar & then adding the peanut butter & vanilla in?
I think that will be fine. Just remove the wok from the heat once the milk and sugar have boiled for the 2 minutes. Then add the peanut butter and vanilla in. Make sure the heat isn't too hot and make sure to keep stirring it so it doesn't burn.
This morning I made the same amount you showed in your demonstration. In the early evening there was no trace of any peanut fudge left in the tray. They just vanished to the last crumb.
lol nice!! :) Yeah, it is super yummy! If you like, try this version next ua-cam.com/video/QcMAriRmq4I/v-deo.html
Should I put it in the freezer after or no
Hi there, no not the freezer, but you can put it in the refrigerator.
Can baking sugar be used in place of granulated?
You can give it a try but may need to adjust the amount.
Instead of sugar and milk can I just pour condensed milk? Is it not the same? How msny cans should I pour?
I haven't used it with this recipe, but you probably can. 1 14oz can. I use sweetened condensed milk in my quick chocolate fudge recipe. You do still need to heat it up though, otherwise it won't set.
Hi do I put in fridge for setting
Yes it will set faster in the fridge.
do you put the fudge in the fridge or just let it sit?
Yes, put it in the fridge to set. :)
Could you use sweetened condensed milk instead of the sugar milk mixture?
You could try it. It is a very cheap recipe to experiment with. I have a chocolate fudge recipe that uses sweetened condensed milk. I have always done my peanut butter fudge this way.
Regular milk or evaporated?Thank you
You can use either
Can you substitute that milk/sugar mix with condensed milk?
I haven't tried that with this recipe, but potentially!
Whas the consistency? Is it at all brittle or crumbly?
It is soft like fudge. Not brittle or crumbly.
Can I also use light brown sugar instead?
It sure work fine, I haven't tried it, but don't see any reason why it won't work.
This looks to be a very simple, easy to make recipe, thanks Matt! Roughly how long do you need for it to cool and set? Think I'll try this very soon. I love anything peanut butter! Lol.
Thanks Colin! You need to let it sit for about 30 minutes to an hour before cutting into it. You will be able to tell how firm it is. then after that you can just store it in the fridge. I eat them cold right out of the fridge, haha, oh so yummy.
Can you make this with crunchy peanut butter?
Sure, I don't see why not. :)
Could this be done with Splenda, fat free lactose free milk, vanilla extract and PB2 powder with water as needed?
Possibly, I have never tried it with all of those ingredients. Although fudge can be finicky. Experiment and find out. :)
How long does it have to go in the freezer for
Don't put it in the freezer, put it in the fridge. just about 30 minutes.
Where is the link for your chocolate fudge please?
Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/wvnl4AXYBEQ/v-deo.html
Can I use brown sugar instead of white ?
Sure! I don't see why not. :) It will give it a nice caramel flavor.
Oh yummy! Can you also add marshmallows to it?
Sure I don't see why not. :)
Marshmallows have pits
That's the old fashioned peanut butter fudge. And I takes a heck of a lot longer than your showing. After the boiling stage turn it to simmer stirring occasionally but it's a good 45 minutes... To get it to the soft/firm ball stage.. then after removed from stove .All of the stirring that is involved for it to come out perfectly. That's at least another 30 to 40 minutes. Believe me I know my mom and myself (I learned the recipe from her) have made old-fashioned fudge for decades&decades
I have made this EXACT recipe MANY times. This is a video edited for time. I even said in the video before it starts to boil "And this part right here takes a little while" and then later I said "it took 20 to 25 minutes to get to that point." It does NOT take 45 minutes plus another 45 minutes. I didn't use some magic in the video. Once it boils it only needs 2.5 to 3 minutes maybe 5 minutes to get to 234F to 240F. It takes 45 minutes tops for everything besides cooling. I too have been making fudge for decades. This peanut butter fudge recipe does not take as long as old-fashioned chocolate fudge. Don't believe me? Read all the comments of people who followed these directions. You are using a different recipe if you are simmering it for 45 minutes after it boils. Plus if you already know how to make it, why are you watching this video and commenting? Besides that, there is not only ONE peanut butter fudge recipe in the world.
Can I code in melted chocolate.?
Code? like computer coding? haha that would be awesome. lol
What do u do if the peanut butter smoothness is more like a Chunky liquidy nightmare?
Make sure you follow all the instructions and measure everything correctly. It should look exactly like in the video if followed correctly.
If I added some butter during the heating up phase would it mess up the process of the fudge hardening?
You can probably get away with adding a little butter. But yes it could cause it not to harden later on.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt Thank you for the reply. I'll just make it without.
@@Bman67 You are welcome! Good luck, let me know how it turns out.
