When are people going to learn, food is just food. The only thing to worry about in there is maybe the hydrogenated stuff, because that IS fake health-food junk.. replace it with lard and you're all good probably.
@@KairuHakubi hydrogenated oils are no different than saturated fatty acids. Your body wont be mad if you eat FULLY hydrogenated. Just stay away from PARTIALLY hydrogenated... that is deadly! FULLY is just Sat. Fat... which isn't too bad!

I’m just imagining how much better those would be dipped in a good tempered chocolate to make something like a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup with a fudge center.
It would basically be a reeses bar. A store near me used to sell "bake your own reeses" kits, and the smell of this recipe after everything was microwaved and mixed was the literal exact smell from the peanut butter part of that kit

My husband I watched Alton's tv show a long, long time ago. He made Shoo fly pie. There was a giant fly hanging around him and we laughed all day!!! We still talk about it and laugh!!! 🤣
He did start out as a film student and spent a number of years operating cameras and directing music videos and commercials. Cinematography, camera angles, and framing were definitely areas of expertise for him and it carried over to his shows, I think he didn't get really good at cooking until after.

This is the first time I’ve watched you Alton and I was very entertained and informed, what a simple fudge recipe!. You’ve gained another subscriber and I’m looking forward to more of your festive treats. Great work mate
He used to have a show called Good Eats. He would cook and also talk about the ingredients. It was a good show.
If you go looking for more of his recipes, you've got 20+years of his unique way of cooking to explore.
I haven't had peanut butter fudge in 17 years. This might be the year.
Just say it was due to COVID: sugar and peanut butter are ALWAYS good for trauma😅
It's 2020 have the fudge! Have all the fudge you want. You (as well as the rest of the world) deserve fudge!
Used to make some with my mom using velveeta cheese.
@@eldonerc2524 With velveeta? Did it have more of a cheesy flavor or could you not even tell it was in there?
fudge doesn't make it to the fridge in my house
I've made this twice and I gotta say its total banging. Piss easy, goes down a treat, get it scranulosad folks.
"But natural peanut butter is better for you!" They say as they eat 2 sticks of butter and 3 cups of sugar.
When are people going to learn, food is just food. The only thing to worry about in there is maybe the hydrogenated stuff, because that IS fake health-food junk.. replace it with lard and you're all good probably.
I really prefer the way natural peanut butter tastes
@@kamcorder3585 That's valid enough. it's like, sometimes people want ketchup, sometimes they want pureed tomatoes. they're different things
@@CartoonManWhoo Thaaaat's right, thanks for reminding me. I used to know that and I forgot.
Alton even had a wonderful little train model to illustrate it, or maybe it was a bus? or a rollercoaster. And the seats represented the open spaces where hydrogen can go.
I'm a Jif peanut butter girl. Nothing else makes peanut butter treats tastes so good.
It's got a deep, rich, in your face peanut taste. I love opening a new jar and taking a big whiff before using it. It smells great warm, too.
"It's Christmas, live with it, ok?" Haha
'Live a little' is what I heard.💃🖖
My husband and I have always loved Alton Browns shows that were on the Food Network...they were informative, fun and Interesting. So Glad to find you on Utube...hubby wants me to make your Peanut butter Fudge. We use Jif peanut butter, so Yahoo. Thanks Alton Brown !!!
This brought back so many memories from being a kid and watching your show. I was looking for a fudge recipe and came across this ❤
I've made this recipe for years. It's the absolute best... beats any cooked PB fudge recipe by a hundred miles.
There have been a lot of celebrity chef's that have come and gone but you reinvent yourself over and over. You're better than ever. Thank you for the inspiration!
I was diagnosed w. diabetes 2 a few months ago and I was determined not to stick myself. So food management intake it was. I researched what I could and should eat. Peanut butter was a surprising OK. In 72 yrs I have not been a peanut butter fan, except for peanut butter cookies and pb fudge. I have also like Alton found that JIF tastes the absolute best. I can now snack on a teaspoon of it once in awhile. I have always loved Alton Brown. Cheers to all.
I’m just imagining how much better those would be dipped in a good tempered chocolate to make something like a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup with a fudge center.
Yum! Maybe cut them to 1/2" pieces so they aren't too big after the covering!
You gotta do this!
Read my comment, thats how they taste ! Jin Herrera
It would basically be a reeses bar.
A store near me used to sell "bake your own reeses" kits, and the smell of this recipe after everything was microwaved and mixed was the literal exact smell from the peanut butter part of that kit
@@joeyc5879 but cheaper than reese's bars!
I love your recipes and content. You are a perfect personality for social media! I am a southern cook/baker and a excellent judge of a cook/baker is their recipes are weighed and you knock it out of the park🫶
Love the enthusiasm - I can totally see Alton working for a Food Network type caliber network/channel in the future. Keep your youtube up.
Lol do you not know?
Yeaaahh I could see him working for an up and coming small network in their early days.
Totally, and have you seen that Adam Savage guy? He would totally rock a show on Discovery Channel or something.
Someday..maybe someday
I really hope this is a joke hahaha
My husband I watched Alton's tv show a long, long time ago. He made Shoo fly pie. There was a giant fly hanging around him and we laughed all day!!! We still talk about it and laugh!!! 🤣
Y’all really don’t remember Alton having cameras in every oven he ever used on Good Eats 😂
He pretty much did. Ovens, refrigerators, pantries, etc.
It wasn't just limited to ovens. Cupboards, refrigerators cabinets or anything else he could open I think? 😎
Pepperidge Farm remembers
He did start out as a film student and spent a number of years operating cameras and directing music videos and commercials. Cinematography, camera angles, and framing were definitely areas of expertise for him and it carried over to his shows, I think he didn't get really good at cooking until after.
@@KalOrtPor didn’t know that, very cool!
Just made it. Came out great. I’m glad he included weights.
Alton Brown is pure genius on EVERY level. He's never let me down. 👏 Amazing
-2 sticks of butter
-1cup peanut butter
-3 3/4cup powdered sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
I was expecting a sewing kit at the end when he opened it.
Yeah!! The memories huh?
Omg I’m only 29 and I literally have sewing supplies in one of my leftover Danish biscuit tins because that’s just what happens when you age.
He could lift the lid 100 times and the expectation might fade but it wouldn't completely go away.
I love his vibe lol, he seems like a fun and nice guy. Thank you for the video!
Well, now I know what I'm doing today. Merry Christmas :)
I've always found your shows & videos so educational & informative, yet simple. I love your detailed & scientific mind. Thank you, & Merry Christmas to you!
I'd like a homemade present from Alton...
I would be happy to see QQ back!

Quarantine Alton: “Best I can do is a recipe.”
My recipe too!!! Perfect. I plop mine down on a cutting board. Shape into square…. It sets up quickly……easy to cut then.
YES!! 🥜 JIF peanut butter is the ONLY brand to use.
It certainly makes fudge taste
SO MUCH BETTER. Merry Christmas, y'all! ✝️ 🎄 🎅 ✝️ 🎄
I’m not liking ur vibe 👎😵💫🙄🧐
Kraft p'b!
Oh my gosh! So glad to see Alton Brown back, doing his thing!!! I have learned so much from him!
Love the new vids, still missing Quarantine Quitchen though....
@Paola E I’m really out of the loop on what happened with Alton. What is T** and what are we not giving energy to?
@@sethd85 same here.
@Paola E I think there are new A&E QQ episodes starting in the New Year. ::fingerscrossed::
edit: i spelz reel gud!
@@maybe_nadie T** is the current US president.....Alton got some heat for comparing the administration to WWII Germany, and now with this martial law talk coming out he wasn't too far off base. Considering he's also gotten grief for leaning right, they shouldn't be giving him as hard a time for essentially agreeing in denouncing efforts to change the 2020 outcome. Even if someone thinks 45 is the greatest thing since Betty White, you take your punches and bow out gracefully instead of preferring chaos.
QQ isn't his forte and not my cup of tea, but to each his own.
A Followup to my post of a year ago. Hubby is a candy guy. Especially fudge. So when I saw this had to make this fudge for him...a year later and still Making it at least one or two times a month. He absolutely loves this and it is so easy to make and very less expensive than what you pay in local grocery or other stores. I was not a peanut butter fudge lover, But Alton your recipe changed my mind.
I now have a piece or two. Have to restrict myself due to med conditions which prevent me from taking in too many high sugar/carbs, but when I take a piece I enjoy it ! Thanks again for so many years of great shows by Alton and for the recipe :)
I never knew that you were my peanut butter soulmate, Alton. I'm so happy. JIFF FOR LIFE!
This guy is great. He looks like he enjoys what he’s doing. That makes it really enjoyable watching his video.
Thank you for tuning in to "The Fudge Aquatic with Alton Brown"
I actually giggle snorted.
This recipe is very close in texture and flavor to my grandma's who I never got to get the recipe from. Ive been obsessed with it since I was little and everywhere we go that sells fudge I buy some and I'm always disappointed, Thank you for letting me taste it again.
You caught that microwave just in time, theres a frame in there where the image distorts and goes black haha
The dudes in tv, and you don't think that's vfx.
@@BenderTheBoiler no I dont because its unnecessary
Thank you for using the weight measurement for the butter for those of us who do not live in the USA
6:26 You only did 7 cuts, and 7 cuts is correct! You can count them at 6:42.
You start with one large chunk and each time you cut you have +1 chunk, so to get 8 strips you cut 7 times. Same logic applies when you cross-cut each strip.
I spent the rest of the video trying to make sure I wasn't imagining that it should be 7 cuts, thanks for the sanity check. 👍🏼
That is rounding error as you cant fit that many into the container :P
Came down hoping to find this comment so I wouldn't have to be "that guy". Thanks for taking the hit!
Thanks for breaking my brain for a minute there. These types of post are great as long as well-intended. Big thumbs up.
My son made this for the family ... it tastes EXACTLY like the center of a PB cup. Well done, Alton! And thanks for the fudge. :D
