There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be successful and prosperous in life, Molly. Nothing at all. But that isn't what this song is about. This song is about greed and excess at the expense of everything else in life that should also be important. It is not a celebration of success, it is a sarcastic indictment of greed and indifference for your fellow man. "Money, get back, I'm all right jack keep your hands off of my stack, Money it's hit, Don't give me that goody good bullshit" In other words as long as I got mine, everyone else can go F themselves no matter their situation or how they got there. Pink Floyd are as critically acclimated for their brilliant philosophical lyrics and commentary on life, as they are for their music. It is one of the reasons their music has remained so relevant over the decades. It would behoove you to listen to the lyrics. If you're not, you're missing half the experience. You're not going to get it all the first time. This is understood. But on second and third listen you're going to eventually come to understand that there's a lot more going on here than just music. Their lyrics and concepts are considered some of the best ever written in rock. And it only makes the music slap that much harder. Listen to the lyrics. Or have them present on another screen. Or consider doing the lyrics version of some of the songs. The music will move your soul. The lyrics will stimulate your brain... If you let it. "Money, so they say, is the root of all evil today. But if you ask for a rise, it's no surprise they're giving none away" - Pink Floyd
I would suggest also doing the studio version. The saxophone followed by guitar solos are twice as long in the studio cut. This video, while great, cuts out a lot of that great solo work.
Bro I'm 23 years old and I went to Roger Waters live show last week here in my home country (Brazil) and I heard this song live. I dont have words to describe the experience of witnessing such high quality music in front of my eyes. When he played the second part of Dark side of the moon I lost my shit (from money to eclipse) I'm a huge rock fan and Pink floyd alongside with Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix are my favorite bands/artists ever You should check them out bro, there's so much great and creative music to discover from the 60s and 70s. They all had their own styles and I couldnt imagine living this life without enjoying their music
There are plenty 23 year olds who, possibly quietly, enjoy Pink Floyd. But it was always so. They were never the hit charts favourites. Yet they sold more records than most.
Well I have children in 40's, grandchildren in 20's and even a great grandson thats 2 and even he likes Shine on You Crazy Diamond! You may have to upgrade on friends now that you've been Floyded, lol. You're a step up in the music world!
Meet my kids 20 and 23. Cos we played that and Bowie, Prince, all the bands we were into when they were small like Radiohead, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Dire Straits,… Kravitz…. such a blast. Now they’re playing this back to us all the time along with their rap and etc etc lol. Just LOVE it!!!!
Molly Boy, keep in mind, this song is over a half century old and still holds true, as it did in biblical times. The music is the difference! It’s timeless!!!
Yes, it's a bit mainstream, but the 7/4 time signature makes it a bit more Progressive. I said it in your Community Post and I'll say it here, you've gotta check out, Dogs of War from their LIVE album, Delicate Sound of Thunder. The sax solo alone is worth the price of admission, but the whole thing is dark and POWERFUL.
The making of this song in studio is pretty cool in it's own! With reel to reel tape looped over microphone stands to get the proper loop of the cash register. Remember, it was all analog recording in those days.
Man. keep doing what your doing and you channel is going to explode and you get introduced to great music a win win for you...I like the vibe of the channel good job.
Money! It's a gas.... Bought Dark Side Of The Moon album in 73 or 74 when I was a teen. Dick Parry did the Sax solos on many Floyd songs, e.r., Money, Us & Them, Shine On You Crazy Diamond and others. Thanks for the trip through another excellent Psychedelic Rock song. Going good man. Keep it up.
This was their biggest single before the Wall came out 7 years later. Ironically in the Wall movie, the boy 'Pink' is ridiculed in school for a poem that was actually the lyrics to Money...
Growing up music was always playing in our home. My mom was black and introduced me to the legendary jazz, blues and gospel music, along with Motown. I'm from Detroit, so Motown was almost mandatory. My pops was white and he introduced me to The Doors, Hendrix, Joplin, the Dead, Zeppelin and PF. When he introduced me to PF I can still hear his words. He said, "Lulu! This isn't going to make much sense now, but you'll understand someday. You don't just hear PF, you experience them!" I get it, Pops! I totally get it! Oh btw - I just found your channel and I'm kinda feeling vibe here! Awesome reaction. But like others have said this was the radio edit version, kinda. They left the curse word in but shortened the solo. One thing you don't do is cut into a David Gilmour solo!
Nice reaction, just to let you know, this version of "Money" is the short version, it's the version that was released as a single and played on the radio. The album version is longer with longer sax and guitar solo interaction. The 1994 Floyd Pulse Concerts has an excellent extended version, with a creative middle section with the instruments and the lovely backup singers going back and forth.
I was 15 when I fell in love ❤ with Pink Floyd 's music. Then I watched The Wall (movie) whole new level of appreciation. The animation blew my mind❤❤❤🤯
As plenty will tell you, take an hour or so and turn down the lights and put on headphones and listen to the entire Dark Side Of The Moon album from start to finish. It's only like 45 minutes long. It's NOT a collection of songs. It's one cohesive piece of music from start to finish. It's one of the best albums of all time. It spent 984 weeks on the Billboard charts! That's over 18 years on the charts! But in order to really appreciate its genius you must listen to it from start to finish without stopping. Make it a YT video. It'll get the most likes of any of your videos. :D
This was their first really big hit single. Definitely more mainstream . It was everywhere in 1973 and helped boost the initial sales of "Dark Side of the Moon". What you just heard was the radio edit. You're missing about half the guitar solo. Must implore once again that you do the studio versions of these classics first for the full sonic original experience. The live 'Pulse' version of this slaps hard as well. Also, if you decide to do an album, you really only have to worry about doing one side or three or four songs at a time, then post them over so many days. Don't necessarily have to do the whole thing all at once. They probably won't allow you to post it that way anyway.
I was raised listening to this band and many other great bands 😎My favourite Pink Floyd song is "Julia Dream" and the crazy thing is, it was a B-side and not on any album!
once in high school I was high as hell and this song played over the radio... the dean looks at me and says "I bet u know this song don't you stoner" lmao I had never heard of pink floyd. I went down a rabbit hole that day. I'm 33 so this wasn't too long ago.
I hope some time you'll relax and listen to the Pink Floyd albums in their entirety, not for reactions, but just for your enjoyment. From DSOM to The Wall, they're concept albums meant to be listened to as a whole rather in singles. This from an old grandma who still remembers the first time listen to DSOM. It's a pleasure to see people your age discovering this music. ❤❤❤❤
How about a FLUTE SOLO? #JethroTull...I've watched more rap fans convert to Pink Floyd fans than I can count. Talent is undeniable, the music legendary. Certainly one of the Mt. Rushmore bands in rock history. Taking away Pink Floyd would be like eliminating a color from the rainbow!
With Dark Side of the Moon coming out in 1973, it was a concept album with the sound effects in the intro was groundbreaking for the day. The sound engineer was Alan Parsons, pre- Alan Parsons Project, that was influential with the effects. The way to fully appreciate Dark Side is to listen from beginning to end non-stop lying back in a bean bag chair, headphones, and whatever else can chillax you.
Molly boy, great reaction as always fella, good to see you still loving the Floyd. Now there are 2 other bands you really need to listen to they are Deep Purple and The Who trust me you will thank me once you have started listening to them
I'm sat here with a big smile watching you react to this. Try listening to "Another Brick in the Wall part 2" Official video, from the Movie the Wall. See if you can spot some of the lyrics form Money being quoted in it. Make sure you get the video with the School teacher in the tunnel opening.
This is the shortened single version. The proper album version is over 7 minutes long and has multiple guitar solos after the sax solo. That's the one to listen to, brother. Or the PULSE version.
a good sax solo is "i dont wanna be a soldier" by mad season. . . it is a john lennon cover. the sax is more tame on the album version and completeley insane on the live one. . . both are great.
Oh honey, I enjoyed Pink Floyd is a 23-year-old and has a 10 and has a 14-year-old. They never get old there’s an old saying For tires for Christmas ask for David Gilmour, ain’t that the truth you can fall down that hole anytime and they will always move you
I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your Pink Floyd journey, I was wondering if at some point in time, you will check out some Texas Blues ?? I would suggest you check out Stevie Ray Vaughan, Texas Flood live at the El Mocambo to start the Texas Blues journey, I believe you will enjoy it, Keep finding out how deep the Pink Floyd rabbit hole goes my Friend, God Bless
Vai a vedere la stupenda versione estesa di questo brano dal LIVE PULSE e vedrai cosa possono fare anche dal vivo dei geni della Musica...goditeli fino in fondo.
Just as long as you understand that the song Money does not celebrate it. As long as you know that they just print that shit.. and the ones who rule the world are the ones who invented money. Silver and gold, things like that used to back the value of a dollar, but that ended over a century ago. You know what backs money now? When they're just giving it away on loans? Your labour. That's what makes you their economical slave. The serial number on your birth certificate? That accrues a 'pension' for you, over your lifetime? That's the 'ownership' piece. Serial numbers are ALWAYS about ownership. As are the serial numbers on the actual bills. That's the ownership of money. You cannot own money.. you can only give up your days for it, whore, earn, steal, hoard, or trade money. Money is NEVER something you should 'strive' for. Ever. You'll sell your soul, with that attitude. So be careful. We are in the place that eats souls. This is the Matrix.
In its purest sense money is a medium of exchange--it allows, for instance, one who is good with figures but not mechanically inclined to spend his hours as an accountant in exchange for engaging a person who is into tinkering repair his car. That is, I think, a marvelous concept, as both the accountant and the mechanic are able to earn a living in the fields they enjoy. The key is to find that balance between striving for money (which, in effect, is striving for those goods and services we would enjoy consuming) while still having the time to enjoy our lives. Many are never smart enough or lucky enough to locate this key, but many others do find ways to strive for money without selling their souls. All of this being said, you raise some good points keetah.
Money buys freedom. But if you dont have your health it can't help you. Nothing wrong with enjoying nice things. And always give back to less fortunate.
Oops, you picked the official video version which cut out a LOT of great guitar playing. You should re-listen to the actual version from the album "Dark Side of the Moon," or the Pulse concert version which is epic.
That's not the Queen's Mom. She's a well known rich and mean woman but I can't remember her name. I listened to you comment on wanting this lifestyle. The irony of the song was going over your head it seems. Listen to Us and Them for more of the irony.
good song, but its the weakest song on the album only 3/5 for me all the rest are 5/5, my main gripe with it is because it is so obnoxious compared to the other songs, but thats the whole point of it, but i do like it , sax is great 🎷🎷🎷 🎸🎸🎸
Regardless of what the message is behind the song, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be financially free and successful…
"Money, get back,

Money it's hit,
Don't give me that goody good bullshit"
In other words as long as I got mine, everyone else can go F themselves no matter their situation or how they got there.

"Money, so they say, is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a rise,
it's no surprise they're giving none away" - Pink Floyd
I remember the drummer, Nick Mason, saying it was a bit tongue in cheek, everybody likes a bit of money.
For me this is an anticapitalistic song because capitalism always separates people into rich and poor and the poor will ever loose!!
Trust me bro, thanks to youtube there are TONS of 23 year olds who now love Pink Floyd.
Just means they're clueless and you are able to understand and enjoy.
This kid is smart. Young people and black people fake gushing over classic rock is catnip for old farts
I am so impressed that a 23 year old today loves pink floyd...You have made my day
I would suggest also doing the studio version. The saxophone followed by guitar solos are twice as long in the studio cut. This video, while great, cuts out a lot of that great solo work.
Pink Floyd is for the ADVANCED music listener. 👍👍👍😎
My daughter has just turned 18. She can sing word for word The dark side of the moon album, wish you were her album, and the wall album.
My son is 18 and does the same. Is your daughter single? Lol!
Sounds like they were raised right.😂
Love it!
That's Dick Parry on the saxophone 😊
Same guy from "Shine On You Crazy" FYI.
Bro I'm 23 years old and I went to Roger Waters live show last week here in my home country (Brazil) and I heard this song live. Radiohead had that effect on me live. They are massive fans of Pink Floyd.
It’s because you have an open mind, and that is totally to your credit. Good for you young Sir. Keep doing it your way.
It's because you're open minded is part of the reason why you're reactions are so good!
There are plenty 23 year olds who, possibly quietly, enjoy Pink Floyd.
But it was always so. They were never the hit charts favourites. Yet they sold more records than most.

You should have done the album cut, this one cut out a whole part of the song, that's why it was short.
Pink Floyd money a classic!
Yes, it's a bit mainstream, but the 7/4 time signature makes it a bit more Progressive.

This is the shortened radio version of the track. You should check out the extended Pulse version.
Man. keep doing what your doing and you channel is going to explode and you get introduced to great music a win win for you...I like the vibe of the channel good job.
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos :)
Yes, you finding our songs is compelling. That is why I watch!
This was the ONLY Pink Floyd track to chart in the US as a single. F'n amazing.
Great song form a GREAT album.
Hope you continue the journey.
I enjoy the reactions because they remind me of how I felt when these songs were first released. 👀
Bob Seeger and Bruce Springsteen both have sax solos on their live albums. Live Bullet is Bob and Greetings From Asbury Park for Bruce.
Growing up music was always playing in our home. My mom was black and introduced me to the legendary jazz, blues and gospel music, along with Motown. I'm from Detroit, so Motown was almost mandatory. “Money - money”. That was no coincidence. Pink Floyd is getting into your blood.
Delicate Sound of thunder’s arrangement was even better.
Money. One of the themes of the album that can drive us to insanity ❤
I was 15 when I fell in love ❤ with Pink Floyd 's music. Then I watched The Wall (movie) whole new level of appreciation. The animation blew my mind❤❤❤🤯
Urgent. Foreigner. Best Sax solo you’ll ever hear.
Check out the LIVE version of Money from the PULSE CONCERT. It is excellent!!!
This was the song that got me into Pink Floyd, and The Wall double album about 30 years ago.. happy you are discovering it !
One of my favorites by one of my favorite bands! And my 19 year old granddaughter loves Pink Floyd!
This sounds like the single version, there's a section cut out which should have been in at about 5.54.
EXCELENT SONG, EXCELENT REACTION. PLEASE REACT TO PINK FLOYD-WISH YOU WERE HERE , SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA.
My friends from age 16-18 still think of Pink Floyd when they think of me. I love them so much. Glad you are going on the journey.
As plenty will tell you, take an hour or so and turn down the lights and put on headphones and listen to the entire Dark Side Of The Moon album from start to finish. It's only like 45 minutes long. DSOTM still sells at the rate of 6000 +/- copies a month today....over 50 million total and growing.

Great Band, great song wish it got more views🤷♂
Pink Floyd "One of these days"
This is the shorter version, you should listen the album one, much better.
Money isn't real. Building life skills and making a family are
🔥Job well done! Financial independence is freedom for some.
With Dark Side of the Moon coming out in 1973, it was a concept album with the sound effects in the intro was groundbreaking for the day. 51 years later still so relative
For another classic saxophone solo, check out Billy Joel “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” live from Long Island.
checkin in...
Uhhh, yeah. Who is on the saxophone? That is a good question. That is absolutely bad ass.
This is the shortened single version. The proper album version is over 7 minutes long and has multiple guitar solos after the sax solo. That's the one to listen to, brother. Or the PULSE version.
HAVE A LISTEN TO "MONEY" LIVE ON THE (PULSE CONCERT)
a good sax solo is "i dont wanna be a soldier" by mad season. . . it is a john lennon cover. the sax is more tame on the album version and completeley insane on the live one. . . both are great.
This is an amazing example of making a ''Radio friendly' 'hit single' Song while sneakily making it abit progressive (with the odd time signature)
Dark side is great and all but Pink floyd - animals
Time to go.
That was a sax solo you heard at the end of Shine On parts 6-9.
Oh honey, I enjoyed Pink Floyd is a 23-year-old and has a 10 and has a 14-year-old. They never get old there’s an old saying For tires for Christmas ask for David Gilmour, ain’t that the truth you can fall down that hole anytime and they will always move you
Dick Parry on SAX in this one.....SO GOOD!
You got the edited version bro get the whole song!
This version was chopped. Try out the album version.
This reminds me of dust til dawn music🎉
its cut version
Studio version Bro, got a groovy piece in the middle, better still watch the live at Pulse concert version…..amazing.
I hope you listen to, On the turning away, Learning to fly and my personal favorite Take it back
Listen Dark Side Of The Moon, full album
I'm glad to see that you are enjoying your Pink Floyd journey, I was wondering if at some point in time, you will check out some Texas Blues ?? I would suggest you check out Stevie Ray Vaughan, Texas Flood live at the El Mocambo to start the Texas Blues journey, I believe you will enjoy it, Keep finding out how deep the Pink Floyd rabbit hole goes my Friend, God Bless
Money live at Pulse is also amazing. This song is on Dark Side of the Moon which I hope you will get into soon.
This an abridged radio version. You’re cheating yourself out of more sax and guitar goodness.
Check pulse version. Keep on Floyd!
they cut out my favorite part of the song! :D the full solo is abit longer and gets very playful
Vai a vedere la stupenda versione estesa di questo brano dal LIVE PULSE e vedrai cosa possono fare anche dal vivo dei geni della Musica...goditeli fino in fondo.
If you don't know any other 23 year olds who like Pink Floyd, introduce your friends to good music, and expand your circle so you find new friends.
Lol I’d need friends to do that
Shame you missed the awesome solo by doing the short version
This is my favorite Pink Floyd song. So good in concert!
You may be surprised but we aren't.
Hello,
It's not the integral version, let's try album version.
i apreciate your vlogs.
From France 🤘
It’s kind of ironic, the song is actually about how wrong it is to be money driven 😉
Some songs live, some songs studio. This one you should listen to the studio version. :)
Also check out Easy star all stars - Dub side of the moon def worth it man
Eres un joven q nunca escuchará ya la misma musica

For the greatest rock sax solo, watch listen to foreigner urgent
If you like the sax then you definitely need to listen to Supertramp
its 3 weeks later but dire straits can do the sax to guitar, try a live of Your Latest Trick to see
Studio version please!
No, that definitely was not the Queens Mum!!!!
You really need to watch catch the movie the wall
If you're 15-25 and you ARENT into Pink Floyd - You truly have issues
Oops, you picked the official video version which cut out a LOT of great guitar playing. You should re-listen to the actual version from the album "Dark Side of the Moon," or the Pulse concert version which is epic.
