Because they can ... thats a D.E.B.Junior logigal presumption, that, whover knows that he could (not "obey") so sure would ("not" obey) ... thats proove of the amount of destruction inside his frontal cortex which allows him to really believe in those delusions with all incapatancy and incapability for emotion or empathy ... this case was a great study of a narcasitic, antisocial psychopath that confronts and overwhelms the society of "normal, undamaged-brain people" ... without the bigger opportunities of those like him, born into wealth of a dynasty of sociopaths with some smartness and better probes to mimik their behaiviour from ... "we came, we saw, he died" (hillary) and millions since then more ...

"let's legally kidnap a bunch of people for a few days to a few weeks and then give them the power to decide the fate of someone." But there's not a better system that I've heard of.
But 100%, those 15 people, 12 jurors and 3 alternates, should be considered additional victims of DB. We all have the ability to walk away from this trial. They don't. The state legally kidnapped these people.

He tried to placate his behavior in court and his arguments with the judge by telling her that he wasn’t brought up this way. That he was frustrated and upset about all that has happened. Well guess what? The very next day…… that apology went right out the window as he continued to interrupt, complain, raise his voice, talk over the judge, not listening to what the judge was telling him, disrespecting the judge, the prosecution and anyone who said something about his actions.
So you say your mother didn’t raise you this way…..right? Therefore you have clearly indicated that you never listened to your mother. No you were not brought up that way….you just decided to live this way no matter what mama told you.

We senior guys don't often lose the war with them, but if we can't deal with them, we give them the boot, with a bad discharge to carry around with them to job interviews the rest of their lives. And those are the guys who explain their failure to get an Honorable Discharge by saying, "Yeah, I punched my captain in the mouth when he told me to do something I didn't want to do, so they kicked me out." He feels very small, but has to say something to make him feel like a big man. He is a failure.

Having previously been married to someone who has a lot of the same traits and uses a lot of the same tactics when arguing, I can say from experience that it’s significantly more difficult when you are the one engaged with them versus being a third party to the argument. The frustration and exasperation the judge is clearly feeling impede the ability to come up with the responses like what Peter and the chat are offering, and it can be very difficult to disengage. So while it’s frustrating to watch as she continues to engage with him, keep in mind that it’s easier for us as outsiders. I actually use that as a mitigating strategy when dealing with my ex, engaging a third party who can help with forming logical responses vs emotionally based ones, and recognizing when to disengage.

So I was really curious to hear your take on the prosecution chiming in on "how to proceed" with DB stating he was going to nullify the jury. Maybe I missed it but I think they were being strategic in that the Prosecution wanted the FINAL word and thus they were going to play along at that point to ensure, they got the last word. With respect to the Judge...I think she has done a great job, but at this point, I think her resolve is very thin - she's exhausted, she's triggered (I think) and he's gotten in her head and "frankly" it's f-ing CREEPY. You can see from her body language towards the end of ALL the proceedings today, that she wants to get as far away from him as she can. I think perhaps she's done and she's trying her best to not ever have to deal with him again in the future.

I think she thought long and hard about how to give just enough to satisfy him without setting a precedent of allowing this in future in their other cases.
The fact is it’s mostly on principle that this lawyers and judge are so upset about nullification being mentioned. This is not actually the case where it will likely be an issue. This isn’t a petty charge or a sympathetic defendant or a death penalty.
I think the DA knows that a pro se defendant getting up and asking a jury to let him off for murder and hitting 60+ people has 0 chances of working. Particularly when he didn’t testify and had literally no one testify to his good character or stand up for him. And his behaviour in front of the jury had definite flashes of rage even if it was way worse out of their presence. All those times that he sat and glared death at the judge for ruling against him. The aggression towards some of the witnesses particularly the last one in his case where he was admonished for badgering.

Better example of the difference between a right and a power: Darrell Brooks had the power to drive his vehicle through the parade, hitting people. He didn't have that right.

if one was ever going to hit/ run over a person, one would swerve to not hit a person and instead hit a tree or a house or anything other than a person. He chose not too and he chose to run over people. He could have chosen differently but he did not.

I am surprised Peter feels she has not proven intent! If he only hit one, then intent could be questioned. Hitting and killing 6 and injuring 61 others is intent. He didn’t run into a crowd, it was linear….he kept hitting and hitting and going. That is INTENT! DB is a monster! I believe Sue Opper and her team did a great job.

Yes, I am surprised too, especially with all of the opportunities that he had to take other action, stop, be escorted out, hit something else, or avoid the area he clearly shouldn’t have been in altogether. It could have been questionable in the beginning. I don’t think he woke up planning to do that. But I do think once he started and he kept going, knowing what he was doing, on purpose that it became intentional. He is on video and multiple photos, clearly focused, no drugs or alcohol at play. He got away with almost hitting his nephew, almost hitting a police officer months before, actually hitting Erica days before, he talked his way out of or was let off the hook so many times, I fully believe he pushed the limit expecting the same outcome and got himself into a situation he finally couldn’t manipulate his way out of.

Thanks for the great coverage of this. Didn't manage to catch live but enjoying hearing your legal analysis of these closing arguments, even if non favourable at times. It's a fair and reasonable legal discussion which I appreciate. Also appreciate how concise, analytical and balanced your commentary is, as well as balancing the talking and footage.
On another note, did your brain explode not hearing this in x 1.5/2 speed lol? It must be strange for you having real conversations after watching UA-cam footage for a long time- like why is everyone talking so slow. 😂
