  • How to fix an automatic thread cutter problem on a modern sewing machine.
    Change thread cutter knife.
    The video shows a Husqvarna Viking Opal 690 Q but Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.2 looks the same.
    Hur man lagar den automatiska trådklippningen på en modern symaskin. I detta fall en Husqvarna viking Opal 690. Videon visar hur man lätt själv kan reparera symaskinen när trådklipp krånglar.

    I have a Juki f600 and it gets caught and I have to unscrew and take off plate and pull out thread . I put a new blade from a box cutter like you did it’s cuts better but not completely I’m going to replace and put in fuzzy thing that is not there and the blade holder and hopefully it’s works like new it seems like the thread is to long but might be better after I fix this. Thank you so much for your video to help me on my way to repair this problem. You are the 1st I’ve seen do this.

    My machine have the same problem. It only cut the thread when I sew thick fabrics.
    I tried your tip out, but it does'nt work. So I put the original knife in again and I can't belive it, now it works!!!!

    Thank you so much! I ordered my replacement knife before watching this video, could have saved 4 dollars! Your instruction is so easy to follow and I was able to replace it 5 minutes ago by myself. I thought I would have to ask Hubby to help. He helped me with the threader last year. Now my machine works like new. It was so annoying when I had to cut the thread by hand for a week. THANKS!

    Any suggestions for when the slider is stuck in the "out" position and cannot be manually pushed back to it's starting position ? (Viking Opal 650)

    Exact same for Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0, 4.2, and Pfaff Performance 5.0, 5.2. Also the Viking Sapphire 900 series. A lot cheaper than the Viking/Pfaff part! I bought an Olfa (really good quality-sharp) 9mm knife on Amazon for $8 and keep it with my Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 so that I can change the blade once or twice a year, depending on how much I'm sewing. Really improved the reliability of the thread cutter! Thank you for the video! 😃

    mats I cleaned my machine first and that didn't work. Then I ordered a new blade and replaced it. It only worked ONE time. Seems to me the arm might be a bit too high and not able to grab the thread? any ideas for this problem? thanks.

    Since the pandemic everyone has been trying to get their machines repaired. I found out that my cutter was the problem on both of my machines and since I can't get either machine in until October, yes October, I took the advice of a good friend and googled the issue. Your fix was perfect. I cleaned out the fuzz and replaced the cutter. My machine jump stitch cutters are back in working order and I'm a happy camper stitching again! Thanks!

    Amazing video, thanks A LOT! My wife just got a second hand Tribute 145C and the cutter was only doing its job less than half of the time. The blade isn’t my problem. It cuts once. The second time it makes a big bang and the upper thread breaks off about 8 inches long. Yes, this thread now is all in the cutter area. After cleaning it out, rethreading my machine and trying again to sew, it might cut properly the first time, but by the second time it clangs and bangs and cut the upper thread again about 8” long. Never had that happen before, but now unable to sew😫😫

    Hey I have a brother se625 and when I press the cutting botton the bottom tread stays inside the machine, is this normal or do I gotta get the bottom tread up everytime?

    • @stephaniebabin2441
      @stephaniebabin2441 3 роки тому +1

      Yes! I have the same machine. You do not have to "thread" the bobbin thread up. It is an auto thread machine - 👏👏👏! Does it every time. That is one of the best things about that machine.

    • @stephaniebabin2441
      @stephaniebabin2441 3 роки тому +1

      I will add that it is important that you hold your finger on the bobbin and pull the thread snuggly when you wrap the it around the little track as shown in the picture on your machine, and then break it off on the little cutter at the end of the track before putting the plastic cover back on. I think this locks the thread/bobbin in. Otherwise, you will get really loose, knotted bottom stitches.
