I love your videos! Thank you. One question: my Juki thread cutter cuts the bobbin thread short and it doesn't come through the hole. My needle thread is cut at normal length -- an inch or so. Is that normal for the bobbin thread to be cut so short it doesn't show? Keep up the good work!
Is there a way to lengthen the thread that is left after the cut? I have to rethread my needle almost every time ? Also is it ok to leave the presser foot up while using the autothread feature ? Mine is stuck down unless I have the presser foot up due to the tension of the upper thread. Thank you in advance
There is not. Make sure your sub mention unit which is the first tension spring you go through when you push the thread through the 2 holes is completely flush to the metal circle inside. That could be causing your issue. Its totally okay to use the cutter when the foot is up, while it may cut more consistently while the foot is down.
@@JukiJunkies Thank you for replying! I've only had the machine since last October, and what's weird is that it 'sometimes' will work on the bigger machine needles (14+) but won't on the smaller needles (9-11). 🤷🏻♀
Thank you for your informative videos. I have a TL machine that will randomly cut the thread when I step on the foot control. I have the foot switch stopper installed and have turned the control around so that I’m only stepping on the rear edge to make the machine run. Any ideas of why this is happening?
I glued my rubber thing in, so I can’t cut thread that way. Given the choice, I would not get thread cutter controlled by foot pedal, wish it was an option.
Hey Rhonda, you’re not alone! I’ve also experienced the cutter randomly engaging too. I also use the stopper. I have a bad leg due to MS and thought maybe I put too much weight on the front and caused the heel area to lift up and cut somehow 🤷♀️ I thought it was just me 😌
Hi! There was a bad batch of foot pedals from about 2 years ago now. So if you got your machine around that time, it may be that. I would reach out to your dealer to see if the serial number from your machine is from that period and if you can get a new one via warranty.

I have a brand new Juki Kirei HZL-NX7 and the thread cutter cuts the thread really really short, it is a millimetre out from the eye of the needle which means when I continue sewing it comes unthread. This has happened from the moment I unboxed it.

Thanks for this video, however it was pretty low level, home user oriented. My TL had cam position issues, which I fixed, but it’s still not cutting. A deeper dive video would be helpful for those people that have more advanced issues than a burr or cleaning, if you have the time.

No worries :)
If you’re using 12 wt thread in the DX or other like machines, what thread weight should you use in the bobbin?
12wt is too thick for the bobbin, I would stick with 50w on the bottom and size 14 topstitch needle for this combo.

My.machine has the bobbin case is.on the side my Bobbincutter is on thr floore my foot goes down n cuts the tread
The cutter does not cut my thread and the metal sticks on left do come across but do not cut and thread ends up getting caught inside there.
So what IS the purpose of the “fuzzy thing?”
It helps feed the thread and keep it in place when cutting and the avoid bunching at the beginning when you start sewing.
