For the faucet spray head, I use the handle of a spoon and put across the 2 slits to unscrew it.

Thanks for the great info. After some plumbing work off of the hot water heater, I could not figure out why the kitchen faucet (Moen motionsense) lost all pressure on the hot side, but all other faucets were fine. After watching your video I could not believe that a plugged filter would go from working to a dribble that fast, but after taking it apart and cleaning it, hot water pressure was restored to the faucet. THANKS FOR SAVING ME HOURS OF TROUBLE SHOOTING.....Gotta love UA-cam and great videos like this !!

Thank you! Fixed by issue. I have a thermostatic valve with my smart faucet and the filter was about 1/4 the size of yours and filled with rust. Thanks again!

Just had a plumber fix this for me while replacing both stops. Underneath turn hot water off. With the cold water on, work the back and forth from cold to hot. Stop...open the hot water, then close it and repeat until the faucet is completely back flushed. I knew beforehand it wasn't the cartridge b/c I had replaced it already with no joy.

Great video. I’m having the same issue. Cold is good. No pressure and low flow on the hot. I’ll soak my screen in clr. That should clear all the calcium. We have very hard water. Thanks for the great info. You saved me a lot of time. 👍🍻

My water heater was old and produced a lot of calcium so I just recently replaced it too. That solved that problem. Thanks for watching.

This was extremely helpful. After I replaced the anode on my hot water heater, this tiny filter clogged immediately. I lost ALL pressure on the hot side, so I knew there must be a filter somewhere. But I had no idea it was in that small fitting, and has such tiny screening. It clogged several more times before I used a full tank of hot water. VERY hard to pull the push-connect fitting out, but at least I knew I was doing the right thing - after trying to turn the two hex pieces several times. Only suggestion... I think you could have given all the info in under 10 minutes. I had what I needed in 8.

Thanks… glad you got it figured out.. I have to make videos longer than 10 minutes to get monetized… $$

My faucet was like this from the day the plumber installed it. He said he had no idea what was wrong. Since it was brand new, the filter was not clogged. He put in brand new lines. Hot water works everywhere else in my home.

I would call Moem, that’s not right. Could be the unit itself.

@Jack Of All Trades, Master of None I did. They told me to call a plumber out because they couldn't tell over the phone. At this rate. It's too much of a pain in the neck so I'm just replacing the faucet with something else. The motion feature seemed like it would be great but I spend more time turning it off when it goes on by accident than it's worth :)

I was so excited to find your video and then so sad after watching it, because we have the exact same model and the exact same problem, but the fix is not going to be the same. I want the route of getting a replacement control box, which comes with the replacement hoses for the hot and cold water. After complete replacement with a brand new set, the issue persists. I find that after I reboot the control box the hot water is perfect until I change the temperature from cold back to hot, then it is low stream. The issue is not in the hoses connected to the control box. Not sure what the hell it could be.

Sounds like ( maybe ) it’s the faucet itself since that’s the only thing left to change. Sad to think you are basically changing the whole thing. Since it works and then doesn’t work! But don’t take my word, call them and explain and see what they think first. Wish you good luck, let me know what you find out.

We also have a touch less faucet. It used to work perfectly. Now for some reason there is no hot water. We only get ice cold water. If we turn on the hot water in a nearby sink then it gets slightly warmer in the kitchen faucet. Do you have any advice?

    • @JackOfAllTrades2022

Check the inline filter, had the same problem, after cleaning, it worked like new.

    • @IKanFlyDrones
      @IKanFlyDrones Рік тому

So I disconnected the in-line hose from the black box. It does not have the golden colored part that you put your wrench on to turn it. I shined a light inside and I didn’t see a filter. If you have a messenger account or what’s app I could send you a picture of what this looks like.

Perhaps soak the hose head in vinegar to remove the calcium...not sure though.

I blew it out with compressed air…different ways to clean the calcium.

Do you have a link for the filter you cleaned out and mentioned you were going to replace? Or do you know a part # or name I can search for? Thanks.
