When the founders of UA-cam were in a room together thinking about all the glory that would be bestowed upon the earth with their amazing invention, they had this video in mind. Just some dude in his kitchen helping thousands of people with a simple fix using his phone and a jar as his only props. Thank you good sir. There is a special place in UA-cam heaven for you.

We had to buy a new faucet. We eventually still had this problem. We have a handy man and he was never able to fix it other than replace the whole damn thing. I’m in a really pissed off mood and didn’t want to wait for hubby to figure out what to do about it. Looked through so many UA-cam videos, tried so many things and none has helped like yours. You have changed my life. I cannot thank you enough! Thanks to you, me, who doesn’t know anything about anything around the house issues, was able to fix the faucet problem that has plagued my family for years! Thank you a million times over!

4 years after you made the video and it's still helping DIY'ers. Saved me a new faucet and and hour of contortions under my sink as well. Like others I tried other things including replacing the head -- button had failed anyway -- and the cartridge (only $14 through amazon). No bueno. Followed your video and like another removed the little o-ring as well. Works like new and no leaks so the o-ring must just be a backup. THANK YOU! I'd drop off a six pack if you lived nearby.

Took the handle apart etc. I had seen the plastic piece on the line, but would have had “no idea” on how to detach it without your help. Worked like a charm. Don't know why Kohler doesn't have this information on their website! We had no idea there was a second filter on our faucet, not easy to see this part behind the sink and it doesnt really say what the part is on the parts list. Not the same model as yours, but a pull down model also that has the same part. Your instructions were invaluable. We have had problems for two years and it was finally to the point it was so bad we were going to replace it! Thanks so much, it works great!

This has been a little piece of gold. We have a 4-yr old Kohler Trielle pull-down that has been driving us nuts for two years with low flow. Like some others here, I looked at everything I could think of to clean out, and nothing worked. Finally stumbled across this video and bingo, problem solved. The tiny little O-ring in the quick disconnect has deformed over time and spread out into the flow path, restricting the flow. Remove the O-ring and you're seriously back in business. (The O-ring's only purpose seems to be to act as a flow restrictor. Over time it gets *too* good.) It is extremely disappointing that nowhere does Kohler ever mention this. Thank you Elliot!

Mr. Hirsh, First off, thank you a thousand times over. My wife and I just bought a home after selling our home of 14 uears and it has been one thing after another. We are on a well and I had been battling mineral deposits daily until we got a double filter system installed and a new faucet for the kitchen. It worked great for about ten minutes before some residual mineral build up from the lines put us right back where we started. I have been looking for a solution to this problem and your video finally shed some light on the problem. Don't discredit you video quality at all! It is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much! Please upload more and don't change a thing!

This is extremely helpful to me. Not that I was concerned about slow flow, but I was going to replace the pull down hose, because it had a leak at the head of the faucet, where the little ball connection is. But to replace it I needed to know how the opposite connection works. I needed to know how to disconnect it, and reconnect the new hose. You showed it very well . Thanks!!!

just want to say thank you!! I stumbled upon this while trying to search to see if that check valve was a flow restrictor and if it can be removed. I decided to just clean it per your video. I ended up having to clean both sections of the plastic quick connect (I used picks I purchased from Menards) I also had to flush the hard line leading to this quick connect, and back flush the cartridge, took some compressed air to it too. Took a few disconnects and re-assembles but FINALLY got it flowing great! I almost feel like its better than when it was new ha ha. Here's to fellas helping other fellas thanks again!!

Worked like a charm! Easy job. Snapping the white plastic fitting back onto the copper line was a bit precarious as it took some effort and didn't want to break anything, but apply to steady Force until it snapped back in place. Surprising how a few small pieces of particle can reduce the flow significantly.
I also took out that small black o-ring in there to aid. No apparent negative side effects at this time.
Thank you Mr. Handyman at large!!!👍

Absolutely correct. I tried reverse flushing all the lines two times each line. Took off the sprayer a dozen times. I was ready to call Koehler and join the other bad reviews for the Barossa and then I saw this solution. I took the little clip on piece on the middle line to the facet and it was full of little black hard particles. My plumber replaced all the supply line valves a few days ago and he said while I was turning the valves off and on to see if the leaks would stop I was breaking up the old washer in the valve into particles and blocked the line. I knew the particles were in there just couldn’t figure out where they were until I saw this. It was a simple easy fix. It took 10 or fifteen minutes and saved me calling Koehler and replacing a bunch of other parts that wouldn’t have fixed the problem. This was the fix and the pressure is now full strength. My old valves were about 23 years old so it is not a surprise they were worn out. The faucet was only four years old which still seemed like new. Now the water runs like a new faucet. Thanks so much for this video!

I wanted to thank you for your tip ... it really wasn't my whole problem (even though cleaning it out did help), but just getting down there did got me looking at other things that might be contributing to my flow issues.
Here's what I found ... With most pull-out spray heads, there are counterweights installed on the hose to aid in the recoil of the sprayer as well as minimizing the hose getting hung up on all the "Stuff" we tend to accumulate under the sink. I noticed that my hose had begun to crimp itself right against that weight and that was definitely affecting my overall flow. What I did was loosen the weight's clamp, slide it down a ways and reclamp it so that the weight was no longer putting stress on the area that was crimped. Wahh-Lahh!!! Pressure my kitchen faucet has never seen.
    Cheers ... Dave

Thank you for this video! It helped me fix the extremely slow flow on a Kohler kitchen faucet. Slightly different design of faucet and flow restrictor module, but basically worked the same. After finding and disassembling the white flow restrictor assembly as shown, I cleared the holes in the blue plastic flow restrictor (ours is blue, the one in the video is white) with a bent paper clip and rinsed the whole assembly off well. It got rid of a lot of little black granules that probably came from our hot water heater. Water flow is now several times what it was before. Many thanks!

Had to sign in and thank you for the directions Elliot. I recently had to cut the water off at the main water line leading to the house. Apparently, when I turned the water back on, the back pressure cut loose a bunch of sediment clogging up all our faucets and shower heads. I could not figure out why our kitchen faucet still had no pressure even though I cleaned out the spray head. That little plastic piece under the sink was the culprit! Appreciate ya.

Amazing. Fixed my faucet issue. FYI - if you fill out Kohler's online service inquiry and describe your low-pressure problem, they'll send you a new part.
The part number you need for the Kohler Barossa faucet is Kohler R776-SD-VS, and the replacement part they send you is 1222880-BC - which includes both the hose, and the quick-connect that gets clogged. I removed the inline pressure regulator in my clogged hose, and I'll keep the replacement from Kohler as a backup.

Thank you for this! My kitchen sink is back to full water pressure/flow. That little plastic piece was the culprit!!! 👍👍👍

Brilliant! Nice! I could not find a solution anywhere on the web. This simple video saved me time and aggravation figuring out how to disconnect the simple clip connector for the hose. Thank you!

Wow!!!. Such an easy fix. I was about to call a plumber, but your suggestion worked like a charm. Took me all of 5 minutes. Wife thinks I'm the greatest again, LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Worked for me. Mine is a Kohler elmbrook kitchen faucet with low pressure. The plastic wasn’t dirty on mine however I saw a very small rubber o ring inside, taking that out improved the pressure majorly. Thanks.

I'm glad I found your UA-cam. I have not fix my faucet yet. but this most likely the cause of slow flow. As you said, I also tried everything else with no luck.
will try your method to fix mine this weekend. stay tuned.

4:30 What is that black rubber o-ring? Can I just remove it to enhance the flow?

Thanks for posting this. As other's have mentioned, this is not just an issue with Kohler faucets. I have a Moen and there is a similar check valve in mine. In my case the rubber gaskets in the valve complete disintegrated which in turn blocked the valve. I removed the valve by pulling on it with some needle nose pliers. After the valve was removed, the water flow returned to normal. I'll have to see if I can find a replacement valve in case it actually does some thing important.

Thanks so much! Mine was a little different though. I had an o-ring in there instead of debris/deposits. Removed the o-ring and so much more flow now! Never would have thought to check that little plastic piece without your video.

on my second faucet, just replaced the first one that was just like yours because the flow was awful....my new one the flow a little better but just did this mod and WOW serious flow now. Thanks so much for taking the time to post this, even if it was a little cell phone ish. :)

Great tip on cleaning out the quick connect piece there. There was some build up, but I also removed the little o- ring in there. With how it is constructed the only purpose I can see that it has is to restrict water flow and the faucet works great now.

Thanks for your video...I'm embarrassed I let the water flow (trickle) get so bad. Your instructions worked like a charm. I decided to remove the little rubber O-ring as well. I don't remember ever having this much water pressure in our kitchen sink...it flows awesome now! Thanks again!!!

They don't tell you because they want you to buy a new faucet, that's how they make their money. Great information thank you.

THANK YOU so much! Mine is the new Kohler Trielle (same design as yours, I guess just newer) and I just installed it brand new. My little screen thing was perfectly clean when I opened it up, so I took that little o-ring in the middle out and it now has the pressure it should have. I looked at the screen thing carefully, and really didn't see it sealing anything before I took it out (the one in there was too big anyway), and there are no leaks. Thank you for guiding me in the right direction. There are no youtubes for the new Trielle, so your video was a tremendous help!
