I'm a bit late to the party, but congratulations! This is genuinely incredible. Its the cumulation of thousands of hours of research and attempts from the best players in the world for over 35 years. It's hundreds, if not thousands of hours of playing for 5 minutes of perfection. This is more than just "man beats game slightly faster than someone else". This is the result of years of dedication to achieve the impossible. It's a testimony to the sheer dedication that people are willing to put in to chase perfection, to redefine 'impossible'. That or it's just a really fast Italian man :) Incredible ❤
The final second break. You are insane niftski, it's crazy how much history you've made in the past but this is one of the biggest things to happen in speedrunning ever. GG!
Every time that we hit the limit, something new is found. It's been a long time since any improvements have been found, but I'm sure that there is some glitch, some exploit, waiting in the winds that hasn't been found yet. The TAS will inevitably be improved and the human limit will improve along with it.
@@magician531 I wouldn't be so sure of that. the only framerule still to be saved rta is lightning 4-2 which I believe eventually more consistent setups will be found for, however the tas hasn't been improved in a decade, so I highly doubt new framerule saves will be found. I think that humans will maybe be able to get a 4:54.4xx / .3xx but that's about it.
@@magician531 there has to be a limit somewhere. There has to be a minimum possible time, why do you not think that we found it. Smb1 is a simple game and many people have looked and found nothing for a decade.

A decade ago reaching a time below the 5 minute mark was astonishing. Anything below 4:59 was considered beyond the limits of normal speedrunning. But now, in 2021 a time below 4:55 is not only possible, but achieved. Congrats on the 4:54 milestone Niftski, you really deserve it.

i get where you guys are coming from, but the fact of the matter is that not a single person was able to cut even a frame from the TAS in more than 10 years. sure, i guess something new could maybe be found one day in the future, but it would still need to save at least a quarter of a second off the no l+r tas. 1 more frame in 8-4 isn't gonna cut it. that's the difference between 4:54 and all the other "final" second barriers. it's not even a matter of human limitation anymore - 4:53 relies on the hope that there even is a new timesave to discover, despite 10 years of pretty much nothing new for TAS. that's why i think 4:54 is here to stay.
I cant believe it. You have such a natural talent for this game. I remember when you first got 457 and how hype that was, and how easily you were able to learn flagpole glitch after you got 457. @Christian Lee 😂😂
That or it's just a really fast Italian man :)

Not only did he set a 4:54 wr, but he also didn't trow up! What a legend!
The final second barrier. Barring a massive glitch being found that was overlooked for decades, this is as far as it goes in terms of seconds
In my 4 years of watching and playing this game, this is the single best achievement I’ve seen.
Your perseverance and dedication are close to no other. Seriously, huge congratulations! I’m excited to see what else the future holds :’)

“Just two minutes off”
A decade ago reaching a time below the 5 minute mark was astonishing. Anything below 4:59 was considered beyond the limits of normal speedrunning. But now, in 2021 a time below 4:55 is not only possible, but achieved. Congrats on the 4:54 milestone Niftski, you really deserve it.
Get used to seeing that 4:54 in the title of any% world records, cause not a single additional second will ever come off this game again. Congrats Niftski!

@@TrimutiusToo Exactly. Every time that we hit the limit, something new is found. It's been a long time since any improvements have been found, but I'm sure that there is some glitch, some exploit, waiting in the winds that hasn't been found yet.
Nver say never. New discoveries are always possible in the any% category. Year, two, even a few weeks from now on, and we might have 4:53.
i get where you guys are coming from, but the fact of the matter is that not a single person was able to cut even a frame from the TAS in more than 10 years. sure, i guess something new could maybe be found one day in the future, but it would still need to save at least a quarter of a second off the no l+r tas.
The greatest speedrunning achievement that SMB1 will *ever* see. Congratulations Niftski, unsubscribed.
